Beef Belly Pho

This place always hits the spot, rain or shine! The beef belly pho is delicious. The egg rolls are so fresh and the midnight foam tops it all off. My go to place

Best Pho in town! My favorite pho is the beef rib with the fatty brisket and the Pho Mai!

Chicken , house and supreme pho were delicious!! Fresh spring rolls and peanut sauce were flavorful. Calamari was salty but still edible. Only gripe was they didn't have physical menus . I get it, it's 2026 everyone has a phone but I guess you can call me old school.

Bbq Bbq Combo Rice Plate

First time trying this place, was really needing some pho for my sore throat. It was very hot and fresh and the broth was flavorful. My partner got the bbq rice plate and they were pleasantly surprised (picky eater and not a fan of pho) they crushed the pork, beef and egg rolls. Will definitely be back!

$18 for a chicken pho, which was vastly underwhelming and had so little "chicken" it was almost comical. Ordered two chicken pho's, with one bowl coming with five thinly sliced pieces of what seemed like deli meat, while the other one we got four. A few of the pieces were so thin, you could see through them. Minimal vegetables to go in the bowl as well. Also ordered some steak for my child, which I ended up having to put his leftovers in my bowl just to have some substance. Not at all worth the price. Still hungry after. Sadly will not be returning.

Clean restaurant with quick service. Good soup base and variety of meat options including beef rib and filet mignon. I liked the grilled pork rolls. I would come back!

Great quality food and service is amazing! In my opinion one of the best pho spots in the San Diego area.

Prime Ribeye Steak Egg Noodles
Jill R.

First time trying here and might be my last I asked for the steak to be medium rare and I got this which is cooked to death it is tough, it's like chewing leather, and super dry so I'm a bit disappointed cause I can't even eat the protein which was an extra 12 dollars even the other item which was the chicken version I got for someone chicken was super dry and tough. The noodles and the rice I got were the only things that were good for either of us. If I do go back I'm never getting the prime rib steak option for anything. 3 stars cause the noodles saved it from being 1-2 stars.

Very mediocre simply. Bad food badly executed. Waste of money. For good Asian food I would suggest driving to convoy area.

The service was excellent the moment we walked in and continued all the way until we left. The entire floor staff were friendly, attentive, and incredibly hardworking--especially as the dinner rush picked up. You could really see them hustling, but they never missed a beat. The food was just as impressive as the service. We started with the shrimp and beef spring rolls with fish sauce, which are always a must for us. For our mains, we ordered a variety of rice platter dishes including grilled shrimp, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, egg rolls, and a BBQ beef banh mi sandwich--everything was flavorful and satisfying. One thing that really stood out was our waiter, who memorized our entire order without writing anything down--very impressive! I also placed a to-go order for the #99 platter, and everything came out quickly and accurately. We were in and out in under an hour and a half, even during peak dinner time. When the service is exceptional everything else follows! Overall, a fantastic dining experience with great food and exceptional service!!!!

Phuong Trang has been a San Diego staple for decades. It first started in Linda Vista in 1988,…read moreserving traditional Vietnamese family-style meals before moving to its current home on Convoy in 1992. Today, it's one of the most well-known Vietnamese restaurants in the city, and after this visit, I can definitely see why. One of my favorite things about coming here is the location. Even though it's right in Convoy, parking has never been an issue for me. I usually avoid the area because finding a spot can be a headache, but Phuong Trang has a large parking lot that makes stopping by so much easier. I came in for a quick takeout lunch. One thing to know before you go is they don't accept Apple Pay, so make sure to bring a physical card or cash. The staff was incredibly welcoming. They greeted me when I walked in, gave me plenty of time to look over the menu, and never made me feel rushed. That kind of hospitality really stood out. I ordered the Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli and the Shrimp, Pork & Jellyfish Salad. The salad comes with shredded green papaya, celery, cucumber, carrots, shrimp, pork, jellyfish strips, fresh mint, crushed peanuts, and shrimp chips. The salad was refreshing with plenty of shrimp and jellyfish throughout. I especially liked the crunch from the green papaya. My only complaint was that the dressing felt a little one dimensional. I wish it had a little more brightness to bring out the fresh herbs and vegetables. It was still enjoyable, though. The Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli was my favorite of the two. It came with vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, pickled daikon and carrots, crushed peanuts, plus five grilled beef rolls wrapped around scallions. The beef had a delicious smoky flavor from the grill. The only downside was that the inside of the rolls was a little chewy since it didn't get the same char as the outside. Even so, every bite was packed with flavor, so it wasn't enough to take away from the dish. Between the friendly service, quick turnaround for takeout, and solid food, I can see why Phuong Trang has stayed so popular for all these years. I'd happily come back and keep working my way through their menu.

We also came here for birthdays, graduations, celebrations, pretty much everything growing up. We have SO many memories here and the food was always so good. But the last couple of years, every time we've been here, it's been a miss. We recently got some food to go and the noodles had a really weird/off smell and we ended up not eating them. The squid was also not edible at all, we could barely chew or bite through it. The chicken was really overcooked and fried so much that the meat was super dry and fibrous. And it's not just this one time. We've noticed the same thing when we've eaten here in person too. The cơm tấm dishes always seem to have an off smell and the rice has been hard and cold. I honestly hate leaving a review like this because this place was such a big part of my childhood and my family has so many memories here. I really hope they can get the food back to how it used to be because I would love to be able to enjoy this place again.

It's a nice place to meet with friends and family to catch up over delicious and reasonably priced food. I had well-done steak pho, and my friend had steak vermicelli. We ordered vegetable spring rolls to share one each. Everything was delicious. The well-done steak in the pho was not overcooked. The pho had so much meat, and the condiments were fresh. The soup tasted great with deep garlic tastes although it was salty so I did not really drink it. The service was prompt and attentive. They came to refill our water a few times. Not only is the food here excellent but the folks who work here are incredibly sweet, hard working, genuine, and honest. My last visit here I left my Invisalign on the table folded in a napkin and the staff, diligently clearing tables, threw it in the trash. I came back and two of the guys working started digging through trash to help me out. After ten minutes of digging I felt so bad so I asked them to stop and I would just deal with getting a new retainer. They were so concerned with how much a new retainer would cost me that they kept digging. They dug through two trash cans full of food and napkins before finding my retainer. I gave them $20 and they chased me trying to return my money. Truly this place deserves all the business it gets and more. I cannot recommend it enough!

Banh Cuon Thien Huong My Experience…read moreI decided to try Banh Cuon Thien Huong after seeing advertisements online mentioning the famous Banh Cuon Thien Huong in Vietnam. However, having grown up eating Banh Cuon Thien Huong in Vietnam, I can honestly say that this place tastes nothing like what I remember. The original Banh Cuon Thien Huong in Vietnam was absolutely delicious. The rice rolls were light, delicate, and not overly oily. What made them special was the texture of the rice sheets, which were soft, thin, and enjoyable to eat without making you feel heavy or overwhelmed. I really don't understand why so many restaurants use the names of famous food establishments in Vietnam when the food they serve doesn't come close to the original. We ordered two dishes: Banh Cuon with Pork Filling and Banh Uot. Unfortunately, both dishes were much too oily for my taste. The excessive oil made the food feel heavy and greasy, and I got tired of eating it pretty quickly. The prices weren't cheap either, especially compared to similar Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Atmosphere: The restaurant is fairly small, with limited space. Service: The service was okay, nothing particularly impressive, but nothing terrible either. Parking: The parking lot isn't very big, so finding a parking spot can be difficult, especially on weekends. Overall: I came here with high expectations because of the name and my childhood memories of Banh Cuon Thien Huong in Vietnam. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to those expectations. The food was too oily, the prices were on the higher side, and the flavors and textures were far from what I remembered. For me, using a famous restaurant's name creates certain expectations, and unfortunately, this place didn't deliver.
