Glad to have a good and authentic Vietnamese cuisine in this area with reasonable prices. My favorite is the plate with all the proteins like chicken, beef, pork and shrimp plus eggrolls. I also love the flavor of their Pho and be able to choose on what type of protein. This is my bi weekly go to place. The owner and the servers are always fast and friendly.

My son and I were looking for somewhere to have a quiet birthday dinner. Pho is one of my son's favorite meals. I had bookmarked this spot a while back and decided to try it out. My son and I were seated quickly and brought menus. There were two men in the front waiting on tables, an older man maybe in his 60's and a younger, maybe in his 40's. The man in his 40's sneezed into his hands and then came to take our order, did not wash his hands or even use sanitizer, honestly we should have left then. I ordered a half order of egg rolls. My son and I both ordered our pho. I ordered mine with brisket, flank, and steak. My son didn't want meat so he ordered just noodles. The egg rolls were brought out quickly and they were very hot. I started to eat them and the man in his 40's kept staring at me. I'd brushed it off, but he didn't stop. Our Pho was delivered shortly after. My son and I both started eating and the same man came back to the table. He looked at my son and said "you need to eat meat and build muscles, your mom doesn't need to eat meat". I was taken aback by what he'd said. He then walked away. I texted a few people to ask if there was anyway that was not meant rudely. I am plus size, I know that. I don't need people telling me if I should have meat or not. It was agreed that there was no way he was being nice. I was not in the mood to eat and wanted to leave. My son went and asked for a bowl to take my food home. A few minutes later than man brought the check. I told him, his comment was quite rude and he literally laughed at me and walked away with my card. I have never been so embarrassed and treated so rudely in a restaurant. I got my card back and we left. It was by far the worst birthday meal of my life.

This was a last minute spot that we decided to go to and it was better than I expected. I got the rice plate with thit nuong (#R1). Service was fine and food came out pretty quick. The corn on the rice was a bit different but a nice surprise. The meat itself was flavorful. The sauce in the salad was nice too. I liked the fish sauce and the soup bowl on the side too. 1 unisex restroom stall and you will need to ask for a key to use it. And there's a large free parking lot infront connected with other restaurants.

If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food in SD, this is it. Having traveled through Hanoi and Saigon, I can say Pho Kitchen really nails the flavor. The Filet Mignon Pho is a standout, and the egg rolls are perfectly fried. Service is quick, the space is clean, and the food is consistent. A must-visit in Linda Vista!

A decent Vietnamese restaurant with a tasty bun special. It had all the fixings and it's huge so you might not finish it if you're not super hungry. Service was super friendly, the inside was clean and a great place for a work lunch. Food: 7/10 Service: 6/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Value: 7/10

We ordered takeout with a few different entries and a couple of appetizers and told us 20 mins for pick up which is reasonable. We ordered the following: Pho Filet House Special - lack flavor in the broth. Bun Bo Hue - decent flavor but you can definitely taste the shrimp paste Binh Mi Bo Kho - probably the better broth but nothing special. Spring Rolls - pretty good and rolls were larger than we expected. Eggs Rolls - nicely fried and flavorful filling. Overall - the appetizers were better than our main dishes.

Mostly ice, 1/3 of the ice already melted when taking the picture.

Their coffee drink is a scam, they gave us almost a full cup of ice and a little bit of coffee. 1/3 of the ice already melted when taking this picture.

Food was awesome. Clean, friendly. We came in late, but we were greeted with a welcoming greeting. The food was deliciously on point. Generous portions. The price was very reasonable Thank you.

We…read morereceived a text saying our number was ready for seating, and my husband and I walked into the restaurant within five minutes. Once inside, we stood there for about 15 minutes, and not one employee acknowledged us or asked if we were waiting to be seated. There appeared to be no hostess managing the front or any clear process for letting someone know that your number had been called. Eventually, I told my husband to flag down a waiter just to find out what was going on and how we were supposed to alert someone that we were there. When he finally spoke with an employee, we were told that our number had been called and that after five minutes they considered us a "no-show." That explanation made absolutely no sense because we had been standing inside the restaurant for at least 15 minutes, and during that entire time, we never heard anyone call a number or a name for ANYONE. To claim we were a no-show when we were physically standing there waiting to be acknowledged was extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, things didn't improve much from there. I'm from Dallas, Texas, where we have plenty of great Vietnamese restaurants, so I know what good pho and Vietnamese food should taste like. Unfortunately, this experience fell short. I ordered the chicken pho, and my husband ordered the bbq pork vermicelli. For appetizers, we ordered the egg rolls and the pork paste spring rolls. I did enjoy the pork paste spring rolls, but the egg rolls were very greasy and tasted like they had been re-fried. My chicken pho was also disappointing. The noodles were cut in half and were so mushy that they practically disintegrated in the broth. The service was also lacking, and the staff did not come across as particularly friendly or welcoming. While the pork paste spring rolls was a bright spot, the overall quality of the food and service left a lot to be desired. Don't believe the hype.

Today, it's one of the most well-known Vietnamese restaurants in the city, and after this visit, I can definitely see why. One of my favorite things about coming here is the location. Even though it's right in Convoy, parking has never been an issue for me. I usually avoid the area because finding a spot can be a headache, but Phuong Trang has a large parking lot that makes stopping by so much easier. I came in for a quick takeout lunch. One thing to know before you go is they don't accept Apple Pay, so make sure to bring a physical card or cash. The staff was incredibly welcoming. They greeted me when I walked in, gave me plenty of time to look over the menu, and never made me feel rushed. That kind of hospitality really stood out. I ordered the Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli and the Shrimp, Pork & Jellyfish Salad. The salad comes with shredded green papaya, celery, cucumber, carrots, shrimp, pork, jellyfish strips, fresh mint, crushed peanuts, and shrimp chips. The salad was refreshing with plenty of shrimp and jellyfish throughout. I especially liked the crunch from the green papaya. My only complaint was that the dressing felt a little one dimensional. I wish it had a little more brightness to bring out the fresh herbs and vegetables. It was still enjoyable, though. The Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli was my favorite of the two. It came with vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, pickled daikon and carrots, crushed peanuts, plus five grilled beef rolls wrapped around scallions. The beef had a delicious smoky flavor from the grill. The only downside was that the inside of the rolls was a little chewy since it didn't get the same char as the outside. Even so, every bite was packed with flavor, so it wasn't enough to take away from the dish. Between the friendly service, quick turnaround for takeout, and solid food, I can see why Phuong Trang has stayed so popular for all these years. I'd happily come back and keep working my way through their menu.

Service: Great, the servers check in a decent amount of the time and you can usually flag them down if you need anything Food: This is where my review goes downhill. The only thing I would say is worth getting at this restaurant is the baguette with butter (no add-ons, caviar or whatever they have going on at the time -- its just not worth it -- when I got the black truffle on my butter the shavings were so thin they might as well have not been there since it made no difference in flavor) The tamarind wings are one dimensional -- the wings are fried well, but lack in flavor, its straight *overwhelming* tamarind with no other notes. House made egg noodles lack any sort of noticeable flavor, most of it stemming from the Lap Cheong but most definitely not worth the price tag that it holds ($36) The dry aged duck is where I feel the most "scammed out of". Ive gotten this both times i've been here. Both times its been overly salty. I understand its dry-aged, but the saltiness overtakes any other flavor of the duck. The sauces try to make up for the lack of flavor but they just cant carry the entire dish on their own -- especially not for a $100 price tag. The first time I ordered this dish (Jan 2026) the duck came out cold-warm, and the second time I came here (July 2026) it came out warmer.
