Honestly one of my favorite establishments in Pacific Beach! They bring authentic Vietnamese dishes, and a few that I haven't seen anywhere else in San Diego yet! - PARKING - Large lot for all the businesses in this plaza - we've never had a problem finding a spot. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - Very welcoming staff, always friendly whenever we come back! Love the high ceilings and natural light that comes in during the day. Lots of booths and a few long tables if you happen to have a large party. After we order, it really only takes about 10 minutes for the first dish to come out, then they all start rolling out fairly quick! - FOOD - Bun Cha Ha Noi: This is one of my absolute favorite dishes here, and I rarely see it offered anywhere else! So fresh, yet packed with a ton of flavor! Perfect for the warmer months, but I could eat it at any time! Wagyu Hot Stone Pho: You can tell the meat is better quality than other options. My favorite part is the fresh pho noodles though! So silky and love the boiling hot stone bowl! Shaken Beef: This is always a head turner, with the sizzling noises and very aromatic scent it brings. I feel like the last time I had it with the garlic noodles, the noodles weren't flavorful enough, or maybe the beef was just overpowering any other flavor I ate. Pho Time is a locally owned Vietnamese fusion restaurant that has been around the neighborhood for almost two decades now. It's located in an internal corner suite of the PB Plaza with updated external signage since the last time I visited. Parking in the shared lot can be difficult when the neighboring businesses are operating during their normal hours. The dining area had enough seating for close to 100 customers, but it was less than half occupied when I came for dinner. I sat at a booth not far from the entrance. The bench seating was a bit awkward because the seat cushion kept raising up if I leaned forward. After perusing the menu booklet, I decided on items that were different than my typical choices of spring rolls, pho, or bun. I started with the Grilled Sugar Cane Shrimp as an appetizer. This was minced shrimp meat cooked on a sugar cane skewer, of which there were a pair on the dish. A sweet chili dipping sauce and some lettuce leaves came with the order. The item was like a shrimp meatball except shaped as an oval. The flavor was good and enhanced by the sauce. I also picked the Garlic Noodles with Shaken Beef. The noodles came on a separate plate while the grilled filet mignon cubes were served on a hot cast iron skillet. Bell peppers and white onions accompanied the meat on the cow-shaped skillet. The cubes were slightly overcooked, but the more concerning aspect was the oil that pooled up on one end of the cast iron. The noodles were cooked without any sauce, just garlic seasoning applied. I don't know if there was some contamination, but I detected an acrid odor versus a pungent garlic flavor. The food was prepared fairly quickly by the kitchen, and both items arrived simultaneously. I liked the appetizer much better than the entree. The worker who served me was pleasant and helpful. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my latest dining experience at Pho Time. read more

Firstly, there is a designated parking lot which makes dining here so convenient. Service was attentive and friendly! I tried the Tim's House pho and the filet mignon shaking beef hot plate with garlic noodles. The pho was jam packed with meat which I appreciated! The broth was also very flavorful and dank, a touch on the sweeter side for me. Really enjoyed the pho that felt very nourishing. The filet mignon shaking beef came hot and sizzling, where the smell of garlic was irresistible!! The beef was perfectly cooked where it was tender and not dry. It was super flavorful and loved the onions and the bell peppers which were the perfect complement. I loved that the garlic noodles were loaded with garlic as it should be!!! Food! 10! Service! 10! Ambience! 10! We're both looking for something on a nice Saturday afternoon while we were in San Diego and came across this location. It was close by our hotel Paradise point so we decided to stop in and we were both very happy. Right when we walked in, the restaurant was very clean with lots of seatings and very open and airy. Decor was nicely done with lots of paintings and the BF even said there was some paintings in the men's restroom. We both love art, so this was a plus for us to dine and was able to admire all the beautiful pieces. We ordered pho and the fried rice with ribeye, omg the broth was perfect and so was the fried rice, ribeye was cooked medium rare and tasted oh so delicious. I've finally ventured out of southeast San Diego for some pho, and although I thought nothing would compare, this spot killed it! I always have to test the broth first, and they passed with flying colors. They incorporate wagyu into a few of their dishes and it's worth it. It's melt-in-your-mouth good! Everything tastes super fresh. And huge shoutout to their drinks!! I would come back just for their drinks. The coconut matcha was my favorite, and I'm not even a matcha person like that. This is a family run restaurant and everyone was so kind and friendly As someone who eats most of their Vietnamese food at home, I was thoroughly impressed. Listened to tik tok and made my way on over to try their secret menu item of wagyu pho. Wagyu was superb. Stop by just to try it and see for yourself! We were seated quickly. Plenty of space. Went there on a Monday night and staff were very friendly and attentive. Tried the egg rolls and the shaken beef with garlic noodles too. Garlic noodles were okay. Seemed more like basic spaghetti to me with lots of seared garlic but beef was nicely presented in a sizzling platter. Presentation is key here. Great photo representation as soon as it comes out. Never really in the area but I finally got to try them out today. Glad their location has plenty of parking for being in PB. Really nice, clean & open restaurant with plenty of booths and large party tables. Our server was this super sweet young guy. He was new and apologized for not being too familiar with how things worked yet. We totally understood. Checked on us often but we didn't exactly get what we needed. We were a party of 3 and got 2 side plates and 2 straws. We asked for a side of soup for the rice dish. For most places it comes with the entree. He went to the back and came back out to let us know it doesn't come with any of their rice dishes. I told him it was fine just bring us one anyways. Asked for more lettuce to do lettuce wraps and he kindly said sure but brought us back 1 piece of lettuce. Tbh, we thought it was kind of funny that he would bring us only 1 piece. Recently renovated, it's a completely different restaurant inside, the food is exceptional and authentic. Service was warm and welcoming. I was surprised by how good everything was, their Bánh Xèo (Vietnamese Crêpes) were super thin and perfectly crispy, better than many of my favorite restaurants in Westminster. The Cơm Tấm had real Broken Rice and the bbq meats and the meatloaf were excellent, the side soup pho broth was on point. The Bánh Mì sandwiches also caught me off guard, the baguette had the perfect crackle on the outside and the bbq pork was wonderful mixed with crunchy veggies and peppers. We've been coming here for years now! It's a family owned restaurant and they've renovated the entire place so it looks modern and beautiful now. I usually always ordered the house special pho and substitute the raw meat to lean brisket with chili oil ( can't never go wrong ). But since they've renovated the place, they also added specialty menus. I love their jumbo beef rib pho it's so delicious and the bone is so huge! The garlic filet mignon pho is also delicious, its soup has a very distinguishable taste. We also love the garlic noodle tiger prawns and shaken beef garlic noodle. The sugar cane shrimp was delicious too and of course their egg rolls is always a hit! Everything here is satisfying except the hot stone pho it's like a hotpot style. I did not really enjoyed that. They serve the raw meat in a separate plate and what you do is you put it in a hot stone bowl with soup in it and allow that itself to cook the raw meat but it doesn't really cook the meat very well for me. I'm not a fan of raw meat and the taste of it is something not I would ever enjoy. So, it's a no for me and I would also not recommend. Theres A lot of seating and they are usually not very busy but I like their pho, it's authentic in my own opinion. I've been to other pho restaurants and some of them don't have satisfying flavors. Heard about this place through word of mouth and saw it all over Instagram, so my team and I stopped in for lunch. Was it bad? No. Was it great? Also no. It was... fine. Very fine. The decor is actually pretty charming, and the staff was genuinely kind and attentive. They were especially warm once they realized I speak Vietnamese, which I appreciated. Service-wise, no complaints at all. Food-wise, nothing offended me, but nothing wowed me either. It felt basic and didn't really distinguish itself from the countless other pho spots around. When I'm craving pho, I'll still happily go out of my way for Pho Hoa or Pho Cow. This place just doesn't make that list. Would I come back? Maybe, if I happened to be nearby and hungry. Everything was so yummy, but the matcha coconut water is 11/10, I'd come back just for that. Can't wait to try the other dishes here! I got their stone pot beef pho because it's not an option you see often at pho restaurants, and it was beautifully laid out and I loved the experience of putting it all together. A bit pricey for its portion size, but worth getting once in a while. I also got their combination fried rice and the portion size was generous on this. I came here during lunch around to celebrate my birthday with family on a Monday! The interior of the restaurant is massive with multiple tables. The tall ceiling with the windows above creates beautiful lighting to the center of the restaurant. There's no more fish tank by the way. The Vietnamese hostess/server was so sweet and joyful. To drink, my brother ordered the $7.25 Coconut Matcha. It's coconut water topped with a creamy matcha mixture. If you like strong matcha, then you should sip it. But if you like a refreshing flavor + matcha then you should drink with a straw... 4.5/5! I had the $6.75 Hue Sea Salt Coffee. This wasn't as I expected because on the menu... it looked like a sea salted cream on top, but what I received was sweet deflated whipped cream. I was so eager to try it that I only took a mental photo. The coffee portion was strong with the perfect amount of condensed milk. I am thankful for the whipped cream topping because the sweetness cut down the saltiness... 3.7/5! My mom ordered the $6.50 Coconut Coffee. It's always so refreshing, sweet, and strong. The coconut blend wasn't icy at all, creamy and super coconuty-- a really delicious drink. It was also topped with wide toasted coconut chips! 5/5, would highly recommend! The two coffee drinks shouldn't take very long to make. We were surprised it took about 15+ minutes to come out. Usually Vietnamese coffee drips under 5 min! It wasn't that huge of a deal at the time, since we did have to wait for the rest of our group to come. But just something to note! Also, the sharing plates were super small (think 4x4 plate), about the size of my fist. Later on, a family member ordered their $6.50 Peach Lemongrass Tea! I love the way they utilized the lemongrass stalk as a straw. The peach flavor was strong, she said she would ask next time for it to be not as sweet. To eat, we ordered the: - Grilled Sugar Cane Shrimp (Chao Tom)with Fine Woven Vermicelli (Banh Hoi) Tray: the banh hoi was white, green, and purple. I'm surprised that it wasn't overly cooked/bloated and they were able to keep the vibrant color! The grilled shrimp on sugar cane was good & different. I liked the flavor and the occasional large chunk of shrimp. I wish that the sugar cane flavor came off more. I think it lacked that aspect. I know you can chew on the sugar cane to get more of the juicy goodness though. The platter came with lettuce, mints, cucumber, carrots, and daikon and fish sauce mixture. The fish sauce mixture tasted lovely with a hint of heat! Overall, this platter was nice to share with family. And it was cool to see on the menu because you normally don't find this available at Vietnamese restaurants. - Banh Xeo: This came out about 1 hour after we ordered which is super strange because usually all the items are prepped in advance. They had to redo it a few times since the first tries didn't work out well, according to the waitress. They did really stuff the banh xeo with meat, shrimp, and beansprouts which was nice of them. The plate came with lettuce (to wrap everything and dip), cucumber, pickled radish and carrots, herbs and fish sauce. The banh xeo itself was a smidge thicker than I'm used to. The banh xeo batter had a really strong sweet coconut flavor. I love to eat banh xeo, but this was hard to eat with how sweet it was! - Pho with Eye Round Steak and Lean Brisket..etc. They brought out a plate of pho herbs (aka beansprouts, basil, jalapeños, and lime). We got the pho that had rare meat and a few other meats. I thought the broth was tasty and light. I liked that the pho noodles weren't over cooked and they didn't clump in the bowl at all! Next time I would ask for the rare meat to be on the side because they were a little too over cooked by the time they reached the table. My brother enjoyed his pho as well! - My aunt ordered their new menu item, Garlic Wok Seared Filet Mignon Pho! This has great and fragrant garlic flavor and she really enjoyed it. Would recommend if you like garlic! Also, the waitress overheard us and excitedly mentioned she will make a bday dessert for me which was super sweet. She gave me three scoops of ice-cream topped with some boba, and a mint. It was too cute. I'm not entirely sure, the ice cream reminded me of French vanilla! Overall, it was a lovely spot for lunch. The utensils were well organized within their cafe de Paris coffee tin. They even have vegetarian (chay) options which is cool. I would recommend stopping by Pho Time, when you're in Pacific Beach.
