When traveling along the 401 with my parents we usually just stop at the service stations along the highway for food, but this time we decided to exit the highway and head into town for a meal. Pho Kingston is not too far from the Gardiners exit off the 401. We had lunch there and overall it was ok. My parents started with some spring rolls ($6 for 2 rolls) and they both had a medium Special Pho each ($9 a bowl). I had the grilled chicken and spring roll vermicelli ($10). I was disappointed that the grilled chicken was fatty thigh meat :( I much prefer lean breast meat. That being said, at least the marinade was good. Flavourful but not overly salty. The spring rolls were hot and crispy, but pretty unremarkable otherwise. They had the usual wheat-based wrappers and not the more authentic rice paper wrappers which I love. The vermicelli itself was nicely cooked, not too dry nor too mushy. Vegetables were carrots, lettuce and cucumbers. They were fresh. Overall, ok, but nothing to rave about in my opinion. My parents commented that the broth was fragrant but did not taste like bone broth. Perhaps they used the correct spices and seasonings, but didn't simmer it in enough beef bones. They also noted that the meats were just rare beef, well done beef, and beef meatballs. No tripe, brisket or tendons. So the food is somewhat Westernized, so don't come expecting an authentic pho. However, it's likely a good introduction to Vietnamese cuisine for people who are a little hesitant to try new foods or anything too "exotic." Service was friendly and efficient. The place was spacious and very clean. The restaurant is in a strip mall with lots of free parking.

Excellent! Looks Ike a new restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. Clean and decorated nicely. Service was quick and friendly. Food was good. I had spring rolls and lemon grass chicken. Overall a great experience. I will come back.

Was definitely not expecting a pho place pretty much right next to my hotel. Nice and spacious location, clean, friendly staff. Had an avocado milkshake ($5, good richness and pleasant amount of sweetness, fair portion imo) and a regular sized P1 special beef pho. The broth was flavourful and there was a good amount of thinly sliced beef along with beef balls. I'm used to beef that's more raw but this wasn't too bad. Noodles were ok. If they had brought bean sprouts and lime right away the hotter broth could have cooked the sprouts a little more. But very solid for like less than $10 for a bowl!

I personally love Pho, I am not one to know what the stuff really tastes like and all, but for the price and size of the soup you can get, I say it was worth it! $9 for a large. And the beef was delicious, everything was pretty cheap!

Finally, a pho place in Kingston that serves tripe!

Finally, a pho restaurant in Kingston that serves tripe and the bean sprout toppings. That alone would make my review complete. Pho and bun are delicious. The menu also offers bubble tea and slushies, and the restaurant is clean!

This is one of the best phos I've had. The broths are full of taste and spices, and everything looks and tastes amazing.

It's also easier to park here compared to the parent Saigon Delights establishment downtown. Food highlights at More Saigon Delights include: The pho is very good. It's a toss up between this place and Mekong for the best pho in Kingston. The broth here is lighter and more "plain" and that's not meant to be a criticism. It's a clearer, more refreshing broth in the pho at More Saigon Delights. Mekong pho has a heavier, beefier broth. Mekong's beef is better though -- that's the only place in Kingston where pho is served with rare sliced beef that's still rare when they set the bowl down in front of you. Back to the pho at More Saigon Delights: you will get a lemon to squeeze, and a little dish of sriracha and hoisin for adding to your bowl or for dipping. Other items like cilantro and bean sprouts will already be in your bowl of pho. Some die hard pho aficionados insist on the plate of garnishes; well, you won't find that in Kingston so you'll have to do with this way (already added to the bowl). The rice dishes at More Saigon Delights are all very good too. Excellent level of spice, lots of veggies (if in the dish) and the beef/chicken/pork that's in the dish is usually perfectly prepared. Their fried hu tieu (fried noodles) is good-to-very good. Lastly, their bun is a Kingston favourite. Can't go wrong with the bun cha gio #5 or #6 (with grilled meat) because the cha gio (deep fried spring rolls) are excellent here. I think you aren't likely to walk away from here thinking this was the "best" Vietnamese you've ever had. But, each time you finish eating here, you will walk away thinking "yes, that was really good again"...and the same next time...and again when you're back the next time, and at last you realize why it is you come here more often than other restaurants in town.

The server took our orders in as the last orders of the night as it was around 8:30. Price was very reasonable. My group ordered a lot of the different Pho dishes and the special pho. The Special Pho Chopstix with Short Rib ($18.95) has a lot of meat in it and is also big enough to share between 2 people. I believe it only comes in the large size. I also wanted to sample how their rice dishes are so I ordered the Spicy Stir Fried Lemongrass Beef ($14.50). It came with some chopped cucumber. The beef lemongrass was alright but nothing extraordinary. Overall, the restaurant is good choice for those looking for a clean Pho place with an affordable menu right at the heart of Kingston.

Pho Chopstix is really just like any other pho spots offering a bunch of noodle, rice, appetizer and drink options. Very standard menu with fair prices overall. There's a decent bit of seating and it definitely fills up during peak dinner time. Went with the large rare beef pho ($13) and was pretty satisfied. The broth was IMO better than Mekong as well as having great portions. Standard noodle wise but I thought there could have been more beef. Great broth makes up for it though. The place takes only debit or cash, so don't forget to bring more than just your credit card! We shared a pad thai, a Cambodiana (green curry based) soup, and then got an iced coffee to go. All were soooo good!! The Cambodiana had a slight kick, but was quite milky rich with coconut milk. It was loaded with chicken strips and bamboo shoots. It basically tastes like a flavourful, watered down green curry... but I'm not complaining! The pad thai was not greasy nor too soft / soggy. There were a few pieces of plump shrimp and the portion sizes were very generous! We were stuffed upon finishing the two mains, and even had to leave some rice behind. I had a coffee craving, so we got a coffee before leaving. At first, I was shocked by the price tag (almost $6 for a one size / small), but the iced coffee was so smooth and rich. It basically tasted like a Vietnamese iced coffee, but much less stringent and not as sweet. A lot of effort was also put into it, with small crushed up bits of ice that quickly cooled down the drink. Delicious! Would love to come back again for Cambodian food.

I liked that there was a good amount of peanuts sprinkled on the pad thai, giving it texture, and the tofu was soft, tasty, and altogether fantastic. I also tried some of the panang curry tofu which, served with a base of coconut milk, tasted fresh and yummy. One of my favourite parts of this restaurant was its ambience -- it's a homey and cozy place and it was fairly quiet when I went on a Wednesday evening. Their hours are pretty limited though (until 8pm on all nights and they're closed on Sundays) so I would keep an eye out for that. Our server was excellent and the location of the restaurant is pretty sweet too -- right in front of the hospital with all the downtown bus stops. I will definitely be back!
