She was probably in her late 60s or 70s. She was trying to order some food and her card wasn't working and then later she had asked the staff if she could pay in cash. They explained that they are cashless business, but would try to help ring her card up at the register instead of the kiosk. The card still didn't work and the assistant manager got on the phone with someone else and eventually came back and said that he would comp her food this time since they couldn't take her cash. I thought that was a very kind gesture because it wasn't like she wasn't trying to pay; it's just they couldn't take cash and she didn't understand that. The second thing that happened around 15 minutes later was that an unhoused person came in and asked if he could fill up his water bottles from the machine. The same assistant manager was kind enough to let him do that and said he's more than welcome to fill his water bottles. I just am so happy to see that level of kindness and customer service to anyone that walks into the door whether they were paying or not. That assistant manager deserves a raise. I don't know his name, but he was tall and African-American and very good at his job. I definitely come back to establishments that know how to treat their guests.
