a bowl of food on a table

Pho Japolo has been around for quite a number of years. They have several locations but for a long time the one in North Vancouver was the only one I knew of. After years of not trying it, I finally got around to trying it and wow...I'm hooked on Pho Japolo now! Veggies marinated prawns and grilled chicken vermicelli bowl Veggies and deep fried tofu vermicelli bowl Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Vietnamese Submarine Two sunny side up eggs with grilled lemongrass chicken rice plate We all loved our food. The (Veggies and deep fried tofu with vermicelli) tofu in my bowl was incredibly crispy. When I bit into the tofu it made a "crunch" sound that was extremely audible and gave me goosebumps all over. Our daughter loved her Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Submarine; mu husband said that he had tried a different location of Pho Japolo and had been very happy with the food there already, but that the food at this location was even better. Highly recommend this place! Service: Good Parking: Free Location: 2070 Marine Dr., North Vancouver

Stopped by to pick up some banh mi for our hike around Capilano. Definitely a small mom & pop restaurant. Didn't see anyone in the front when we walked in, but some people who walked in after us were obviously locals and just sat themselves. Pork and Vietnamese Ham 4/5 (basic banh mi not bad to satisfy your cravings) Grilled sliced pork 5/5 (seasoned well) Goi Cuon Nem Nuong 3/5 (I couldn't taste the Nem Nuong because there were so much noodle in the roll)

The crew had a craving for Pho on a Saturday afternoon. Looked up reviews in the area and Pho Japolo looked like a good option for us. The table had Rare Beef Pho, a Pork rice dish & a prawn salad roll. First impressions of the place was ok. Looks a little rundown, but the table was visibly just clean (still damp but dried as we sat) Staff was knowledgeable about its menu. Parking is available out front, however, not in abundance. Seems that there is an option to park at the motel next door if you register your plate number with the restaurant. Location is just before the onramp to the Lionsgate Bridge. We used access from the sidestreets in the back which Google Maps wasn't aware of. Food: the tea is excellent. I appreciate a good tea and this was about the best I've had in a while. Rare Beef Pho * Pho broth was nice, but I suspect MSG as I had a reaction. I should have asked. It's been so long since I've been exposed so it's become rare I even ask (that's on me). The noodle in the Pho was cooked perfectly. The rare Beef was good. The prawn salad roll was good. Peanut sauce nice. Pork dish with spring roll was tasty. My lunch buddy said it could have used a more generous serving of pork, but was ok. 3/5 stars because 2 of us felt unwell immediately after our meal. Nothing serious, but notable. We had both had the pho.

The portion is pretty big and is value of money. The food is standard. It is not the most delicious lemongrass chicken but it is still decent. The spring roll is slightly better though it is a bit on the skinny side. The service is average and substitution or changes to the dish is not allowed. If you are driving along Capilano Road after visiting Grouse Mountain or Capilano Suspension Bridge, it is convenient to get to. It is at Capilano and Marine Drive, right next to Denny's. Parking is also available at nearby Travelodge if their parking lot is full. Just inform the staff. Do not park at Denny's though. A sign at the front door indicated that.

Sliced pork plate. Such a big portion. I love it!

After spending most of the day at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, we were craving a full meal and didn't want to pay for overpriced food at the Park. Pho Japolo is a walking distance from the hotel we were staying at, so we decided to give it a try. ENTREE: I ordered the pork slices rice plate, which came with a big portion of rice, tender pork, two fried rolls, and salad. We also ordered a beef stew to share amongst my family. The pork was delicious, fried rolls were crispy and yummy. The beef stew was warming to my stomach. It would be a heartwarming soup on a chilly day. AMBIANCE: It's a small restaurant, has a tiny restroom, and parking space. Despite the small space, they have cute decor This place is definitely not the place to hold a huge party, but if you want a quiet restaurant where you can enjoy some delicious Vietnamese food, then Pho Japolo is the place for you!

Food quality: personally I like the menu choices of the one located around lougheed highway. I mean if you are around the area and just finished the grouse grind a nice bowl of pho would be so good. If you are new to eating pho order these main classic dishes Pho ga Spring rolls Pho tai but I added tendon Salad rolls Inside is a little outdated but food is still good. It's not super busy so food shouldn't take to long to come out.

First time trying this place. I was in the area and was craving for Vietnamese noodles. It's not the best I've had. It was a little pricey than other similar places I've been to. Why I gave this rating is because our server was not good at taking orders. I ordered the #8 "small" chicken noodle soup (pointed on the menu to her), but I received the #18 "large" house special instead. I would've just let it be if I wasn't allergic to beef. She didn't even apologize. I was having lunch with two other people. She didn't write down our order nor confirmed it. She finally brought me the right dish, but it looked like it was a large instead of small. When we paid, it indeed was a large (as I couldn't finish everything like I usually do). I will not be coming back to this place again.

I've been going to this place for over 16+ years. With most recent visit, the interior and vibe is still the same but food was so-so. Broth was bit salty, but okay. Portion is definitely much smaller. I usually eat small in other places (and never finish them), and ordered large so I can share my half with my partner who also ordered large. I ended up finishing the entire bowl alone. So yea, their large is small.

The guy in front of me, Deng, looked at me with such envy as he cut in line. This place is incredibly popular! Every time I pass by, there's a long queue. Even on rainy days, people are willing to get soaked in the rain just to have a bowl of hot tonkotsu ramen. While you're queuing, the staff will hand out menus. The ordering system is similar to Ichiran Ramen; you can choose the noodle firmness, broth consistency, spiciness, green onions, oil level, and MSG amount . The basic ramen is only $13. I added a soft-boiled egg and pickled cabbage for $2 each. Although the pickled cabbage is really expensive , I can't help it, I'm a pickled cabbage addict! The pickled cabbage paired with the rich tonkotsu broth was refreshing. The broth was flavorful but not greasy, the noodles were chewy and springy, and the portion size was just right. Overall, it's incredibly good value for money; no wonder there's always a queue. After eating, you really get that "Ah~ this is the taste of happiness" feeling

This time, still a line, but it went faster. This is definitely not a sit down and enjoy your meal w anyone. Order your food from a slip of paper you're given so that by the time you sit, they collect it and place the order. Seats are hard and it is devised where you and then leave. I had the goma vegetarian and my brother the tonkatsu. We both had thicker noodles. However, one could not tell. The vegetarian was loaded with sesame seeds. Now i love those seeds but it was way too much for my liking. Too much seeds to chew on. They also do not put any vegetables on like Hawaii does. Everything is ala carte and that adds up. I simply chose the ramen version without all the add ons. The broth was yummy but again with the loaded seeds, it made it challenging to just drink the soup. I will say, Hawaii has by far better ramen, but this place was ok too. Pricey for for what you get though.

And yes, it has the pork blood which I love! Service is quick and they have a counter that faces the kitchen if you're a solo diner. I've also done doordash and the food is packaged well. My only gripe with the delivery is that they don't deliver the noodle in a bowl that is big enough for the entire dish. The noodles and soup are put in two different bowls but you almost can't put them together because it will overflow. This is difficult of you're staying in a hotel so if you can, just eat in the restaurant because they also have hot sauces and pepper that they serve on the table, which they don't give to you if you order delivery.

The fried egg noodles added a nice crunch and visual, but the long rigid strands made it a little tough to eat together with the khao soi. The broth looked spicy, but the main flavor profile of the coconut curry was the creamy sweet coconut milk flavor. There were plenty of veggies that were all cooked well, and the rice noodles were fun to chew and novel! Personally, I would have liked some condiments to increase the spiciness or add another layer of flavor. But, for what it is, it was good.
