Easily now one of my favorite restaurants in Glendale!! Located on Brand, the Pho Hut has a parking lot located conveniently behind the restaurant. They have ample seating available with modest decor - basically, it's a pleasantly simple place wth amazing food and complex flavors! We started off the meal with Taro and avacado smoothies with Boba which were creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. To eat, we shared a pork banh mi sandwich and the B1 noodle dish (comes with vermicelli, beef, shrimp, and spring rolls). All the meat was cooked, seasoned, and marinated sooooo well - their sauces were also perfect and a great compliment to the dishes. Also, the prices are incredibly reasonable - our total for everything came to about $24 - if we hadn't splurged on the smoothies, our food alone would have been under $15!!!! You can't beat that kinda price for huge portions of amazing food. When we were leaving, we spoked with the older woman who was so happy that we were gushing over the food. There's a small free parking space in the back. You can also find metered parking in the rear. I wasn't able to find parking in the back so I ended up parking at the public parking at California and Orange (90 free) and 75 cents for 30 minutes thereafter. For Glendale, I would say this is a nice pho place. It's modern with a clean look inside; and the location is convenient. It's north of California, almost immediately across from the famous Porto's Bakery. I was greeted by a good looking young guy. The restaurant was a bit slow in cleaning up the tables. The two young guys had good intentions however. I think that they just didn't know better. I'm not an expert at pho by any stretch of the imagination, so my review should be taken with that as the backdrop. Having said that, I think that the pho here was okay, but not fabulous. My lunch friend did mention, however, that the boba drink was exceptional. I did appreciate the menu. It's easy to decipher for those who aren't as experienced with the pho fare. It even has pictures of the items that you can have in your pho. The hot coffee was a bit odd. It took a long time to sift through, and was cold by the time it was done. Would I come here again? Great for lunch on a rainy day in Glendale. I don't know that many Pho places around that area, but its right on Brand. Small tables seating 2-4 people, its not recommended for groups. Pricing is up there for Pho but I guess it's all about prime location so they can charge whatever. Small menu, but most people order the number one Pho or the bowl of dry vermicelli. Wouldn't recommend ordering the sandwiches, not a deal and would rather have a sandwich from a shop that specializes in making sandwiches. read more

Really solid pho place. FOOD: I personally really liked the beef pho broth here. It's salty and tangy without being overpowering and didn't feel heavy in your gut. I just kept sipping and sipping at it like it was tea. My noodles were the right firmness, all my pho accouterments were fresh, and the meat portion size was how much I'd expect. My grandfather got a chicken pho and it really seemed like they make a separate chicken stock for it, rather than just putting chicken pieces on top of the usual broth. I also had the spring rolls and I'm not sure that they had been made to order. The rice paper was a little hard/dry. We came it maybe thirty minutes after opening time so I'm thinking we got a couple leftover spring rolls from last night's service. We also got bahn mi to go and totally loved that. The mayo used wasn't heavy, the daikon was all crisp, the bread crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside, and the meat to bread ratio was exactly right. If you want a heartier meat, I recommend the pork. If you want a sweeter, saucy meat, get the beef. I like the beef one here slightly more than the pork because the flavor is nice. SERVICE: Perfunctory. No one's going to ask you if you need anything or if your food tastes good. Your order will be taken quickly, food will come out fast, and your water glass will get wordlessly refilled as the server passes by on the way to other tables. However, I will say that towards the end of our meal, I asked for 5 bahn mi to go and then like ten to fifteen minutes later, I realized I forget to ask for no jalapenos. Even if we take out the peppers, often it'll leave some residual heat in the sandwich, which my mom and sisters really hate. Resigned to the fact I probably asked too late, I told the server to just take the peppers out. We waited another fifteen minutes. I was a little annoyed by the long wait for sandwiches, but when I got home and opened the sandwiches, no hint of spice or peppery heat could be tasted. I think they might have gone through the effort of making a whole new batch. Also, when my to go order came out, they were brought by an older lady, maybe one of the owners, and she made a point to say hello and happy new year to my elderly grandfather. I appreciated that courtesy. CONS: Parking sucks. There's like four spots in the back for the restaurant and all the street parking is taken up by the surrounding apartment tenants. I didn't want the hassle so I just paid the $0.75 per hour for the lot in the back. You can pay up to 3hrs. Enough for even a very long dinner. read more

Pho Hut improved a lot. The broth is deliicciouuusss. Ban Mi is really good too, not as good as Lee's Sandwiches though, but the pho is the best you'll get in Glendale if you're having a craving and don't wanna drive far. On a cold or rainy day, I'd suggest to get there at 11:55am or right at 12 noon. Past noon on a workday it gets PACKED and you will end up waiting for a table for 15 mins of your one hour lunch break. But good news is, they are really fast with the food, and if I sit down right at 12, we are usually done eating by 12:37 shockingly enough! After trying many Pho locations, I have to admit, Pho Hut is the best Pho restaurant I have been to. I came here for a decent Sunday lunch and got what I expected. The service was very fast and we were seated very promptly. I ordered the seafood Pho. I have to say, the portions were HUGE and the noodles were delicious. They were not clumped together, similar to other Pho locations. The broth was delicious, and did not even need extra sauces. For the price you are paying, you are getting a well prepared and delicious Pho. Clean location! They also have a variety of Boba as well! Overall I was very satisfied! The only time I find myself enjoying a bowl of pho is when I either come down with a cold or my allergies start acting up. There's nothing like hot soup to clear the throat and sinuses. I usually tend to stay away from the hoison sauce and other condiments, but its a good addition if your looking for more flavor. I do think the soup alone is well seasoned and flavorful. I will recommend the beef brisket or combination bowl if your a meat lover, but if not, they do also offer it without. Their egg rolls are also pretty good.. enjoy it with the fresh lettuce that its accompanied with to wrap the fried rolls in. The place itself is clean and fairly new since it hasn't been around for too long. Their lunch menu is great with reasonable prices. It's usually always busy during lunch so don't be surprised about the 5-10 min wait. Service here is always quick and efficient. I've grown up eating pho so I've been eating this stuff for a while. I've tried so many different pho spot in the area and to be honest this place is the best, which is why I give it 5 stars, if you want really good pho I recommend heading down to Garden Grove/Westminster, but for Glendale this has to be my go to spot! The broth is complex and taste authentic. Just the right amount of umami flavor and very clean tasting. The portions are great and the service is fast. Same flavorful broth with noodles & green onion & cilantro. Pho comes with fresh basil you throw in the broth, sliced jalapeno's, Fresh Lime, & bean sprouts. Everything they give you goes so well with the Pho broth woww! Truly is a curable soup like chicken noodle when you sick. I walked in to order one item to go (veggie pho) and sat there for 45 minutes while people were being seated, served, and finishing their meals before I even got my order. The waiter wouldn't talk to me when I was trying to ask what was going on. Very bad service and they could've made it right by maybe throwing in something for free or even just acknowledging me. He literally brushed me off. I left feeling really shitty and never going back there. I have been here a couple times. The food is surprisingly bland, and the ingredients are cheap. For example, the beef on rice is the same beef cut they use in the pho soup. The charbroiled beef turned out like pan fried roast beef slices. I was horribly disappointed. The rice is decent but it isn't the broken rice. The rice is more like the type of rice you'd see in a sushi roll. There was a hair in my salad. For $10, I'd rather starve and save my money. The service is quick, but the quality of food is just terrible. I don't think I'll be back here. The flavor of the pho is good, but I found myself having to cut out the fatty pieces from the beef flank. By the end of my meal I had a small bowl of fatty meat. This place is probably the best tasting pho i've had. The broth is better than any other place. Serving sizes are great, always order either their eggrolls or chicken wings. Yes, i know chicken wings in a pho place?? But they do it right over here. Nice and crispy plus their sweet and salty fish sauce dip on the side is good too. Quick tip: when you eat the egg rolls make sure you rap them in the lettuce. Then dip in the sauce, then party in your mouth! Back to the main course, the pho, rare steak and tendon is my always my preference but all the other options are great too. Always keep in mind that the broth is what separates all pho restaurants. Occasionally i would try their bbq pork with rice or the bbq pork vermicelli with egg rolls. Those two are your alternative if you are not feeling hot with soup. read more

This is my favorite pho joint. Today, they IMPROVED! Which compelled me to write a review. My wife and I usually order their spring rolls, and two of the following four items: 1. Pho 2. Filet mignon plate 3. Beef sandwich 4. Vermicelli bowl with either beef or pork The peanut sauce they make is the best in town. This is because they are not cheap with the peanut butter!! Nice, gooey and thick. Now they have added something crunchy to the spring rolls which makes them better!! Nine times out of ten, the way they marinate their beef makes it incredibly tender and flavorful. It's worth the risk! Their fish pho is to die for if you like a healthy option. I usually don't eat the noodles if I'm watching my weight. UPDATE: I've been going to other pho places which are close to my house. This place is 10x better than the second best. read more

Gave this place multiple tries but after tonight, I won't be coming back here. My mom and I came for dinner at 6:45 pm. Fridays and the weekend dinner service is usually busy so we expected a line. Inside there was a wait list where guests are supposed to write their name and we saw there were 2 parties ahead of us so we decided to wait. After 45 minutes of waiting out front we saw 3 parties that came after us (same number of people that are in our party) get seated. Another group that came before us also saw this occur and they complained to a server. After the staff realized their mistake they cleaned two tables and sat my family down as well as the one party ahead of us. Fine, we let this go because we just wanted to eat. After we got seated it, our order was taken and the time was now 7:35 p.m. The party that was seated simultaneously with us, got their food and drinks right away. So naturally we expected our two bowls of pho and 1 order of spring rolls to come out soon as well. More time passes and the party that was seated simultaneously with us had now finished their dinner, had paid and was leaving. It seemed all the other tables (even those seated after us) got their food while my mom and I on the other hand still sat at an empty table with utensils and water, no news or checking in about when our food would even be ready. The time was now closing in 8:15 pm and we grew very impatient and asked the server to check our order. Food finally came out and the server had mixed up our order with another table and so we had to send back a bowl of pho. Spring rolls came out shortly after that but the order was also wrong. Im allergic to pork so I specifically asked for shrimp spring rolls without pork, but lo and behold, our order came with pork included :(. When I brought this to a servers attention there was no apology, instead I was met an attitude and an excuse. He said "its because we are so busy." I understand that, but all the other tables were getting their orders just fine. On top of that they were already long gone while we were barely getting our food. We didn't want to wait any longer for another order of spring rolls to come out so we canceled the rolls and finished up the two soups quickly. Its unfortunate because this restaurant is close to my home but the service deters me from coming back here.
