My family of 4 got there at 7:31PM. They refuse to seat us because they "close" dine in at 7:30. They need to either post a sign outside or change their hours of operation to 730. This was once our favorite restaurant, but sad how 1 minute can change that. read more

Not the greatest flavor at all for Pho. Ordered #11 and meatball was kind of chewy and broth itself no flavorful. Had to ask for napkins twice and took a minute. Another customer there also was waiting for a napkin etc. nice but not to quick on service. read more

Nice place and kind, helpful staff. Just a bit disappointed in the food. I got the seafood pho and it had a lot of imitation. It was tasty enough--not a train wreck, by any means--just tasted simple. Had a sharp saltiness to it. I'm fine with salty, so this was probably a bit saltier than the average anything. I do realize that seafood is the most likely to be imitated above many things, so I would be open to eating here again, and try dac biet or pho ga or something. Reason: the spring rolls were amazing. They were very, very real; well crafted. So... Seems I may have ordered a fluke thing to get on the menu that isn't choice. Will consider. Not a bad time, just a little let down. read more

Stir fried shrimp with eggplant & green beans. Normally awesome but wtf?! These shrimp weren't deveined (gritty af!) and they weren't even stir fried. They were boiled or something and just added in to warm them up I think. No sauté or grill or wok marks at all. Yuck! If you don't know how to handle seafood, don't serve it. read more

My experience today was slightly unpleasant, i went to this location which is quite far from where I live. Once I got home to eat, I noticed that they forgot my rice that I had ordered. This is NOT the first time Its happened....It happened to be several times now. So I would like to advise everyone to check make sure everything you order has been given. Nope. Tried this place again for the first time in years after having gone to the local restaurant "Saigon" a couple weeks back. All I can say is that Pho Hut really made me feel like I was eating Vietnamese food in Bakersfield... (Not a dig on Bakersfield; hometown represent, but not what I was expecting). Allow me to explain: Spring rolls were more or less flavorless. Shrimp was way over cooked - bordering on rubber - with massive veins still in. Nice. Vermicelli bowl was little more than green onion, peanuts, and some lettuce. Lemongrass Chicken was OK - hence the two stars. But at $50, this meal needed to do a little more than serve me rubber poop shrimp and bland ass rice paper. But hey, Stella Artois was on point and the servers were polite. I had their Pork Bahn Mi and it was packed with meat. I also had their fried egg rolls and it was delicious along with the sweet dipping sauce. The service was great, but then again, I was seated at the barstools. but all the employees were very attentive. I really enjoyed the A/C as it gets really hot in Bakersfield. Honestly, I was visited this place because I was really craving pho. I had first went to Maui Pho down the street, but it was too busy and I was on a time crunch so I came here thinking it should be the same, right? Wrong! This was the worst pho I have ever had! For starters, it was served with a huge pile of CILANTRO on top, like cilantro? When did cilantro become a staple of pho? I had asked the server what it came with and she did not mention cilantro which was terrible because had I known this upfront I would have never ordered; I hate cilantro! I tried to make the best of it and remove the cilantro, but then I asked the server if they had basil, she said no. How?! Every pho place I've been to has basil as a veggie for pho! Anyway, I tried my best to eat it, it was really bad. When I was leaving, I noticed the one Asian woman in the kitchen digging in the large pot in front of her, bring out a piece of food with her bare hands and long nails, then toss it back in. Family and I went last night to have a dine in dinner and was super excited to get out to eat, as soon as we were seated we end up with a rude pushy waitress by have us to order appetizers when we were still waiting for the rest of our family to arrive, we did place our order for appetizers and we received our food before the appetizers we had to ask for clean silverware and napkins, waitress had a big attitude about it, to end up with dirty greasy silverware again we asked for plastic and oh boy the waitress was really bothered by our request. We did ask to speak to the owner, she didn't seem to concern. At the end of dinner ready to pay our ticket, appetizers were charged but never received them, took 3 of them including the owner to figure out we didn't receive our appetizers. Sad to say Pho hut was a favorite place of ours and we will not be going anymore. I agree with their 3.5* rating. Maybe I'm not a big pho fan, but the soup was average. I got beef soup and it had a lot of some weird beef parts that I couldn't eat. It's OK to come there when you crave hot broth, but if I'm hungry while being in that area - I'll try to find something else on yelp. read more

Pho is my go to any time I'm not feeling well. I've had pho from many different places in town and Pho Hut is my current favorite. Really delicious. I love the vegetarian pho with beef broth. They are very generous with the vegetables. The only thing missing is the Thai basil. The last few times I ordered I was only given cilantro. read more

Delicious! I wanted to bring a birthday dinner home & Pho was great. I ordered take out for 12 people at 11am for a pickup at 7:15pm to give them plenty of time to prepare. At 7:10pm my order was ready. I ordered chicken fried rice, shrimp spring rolls, pork spring rolls, and fried egg rolls. It was all delicious. The fried egg rolls are especially good when you splash vinegar on the lettuce leaf, add mint leaves and fried egg roll to the center and eat it like a taco. So good! Thank you Pho Hut. read more

I don't think I'd ever choose to come here myself, but if someone had asked me to eat here, it's not like I'd say absolutely no. That's where I stand with Pho Hut. Staff is super friendly, I love how casual they are and very family friendly. That's always a welcoming environment. Had the 3 meat combo plate. Chicken was okay, pork was good, but lacked in strong flavor. It seemed to be there but it wasn't prominent or memorable. Im not sure what Vietnamese meatloaf is supposed to be, but that was also just decent. I did really enjoy the egg rolls, however, along with their dipping sauce to go with it. Would come back here, but more than likely wouldn't be my first choice if I were hungry and looking for Vietnamese food. read more

I wish I can give a zero review. I almost never write a review but I was so grossed out by the food that I had to warn other people. This used to be a great place. Now under new owner, this terrible place. I ordered pork and chicken noodle dish to go. The chicken was mostly skin and incredibly greasy. The pork was burnt and tough. There was mostly noodle and very little vegetable. The sauce that was supposed to come with it was so small that the dish had no flavor. I called the owner next day. I prefer writing good reviews, but this restaurant needs a lot of work. First is to train their employees. The waitstaff seem very unhappy, did not smile, and were even rude. (1) chicken basil over a bed of vermicelli noodles - delicious! this dish comes with either rice or noodles, and i choose the noodles. it reminds me of the vermicelli bowls on their menu, but it's covered with chicken tossed w/ basil, onions and jalapenos. the flavors are delicious and spicy! :) yummos... (2) grilled five spice chicken plate -- plenty of chicken, grilled to perfection, comes paired with either rice or vermicelli noodles. there is skin on the chicken though, not sure if you like that. it reminds me of their pork chop plate, but it's chicken instead of red meat. read more

Fabulous! one of the tastiest bowls of Pho I've had anywhere from Long Beach to Palmdale. I Highly recommend this spot if you're craving a hot, savory bowl of Pho in Bakersfield. I've been to other spots in the area and this is my personal favorite. What takes the experience above and beyond those of its competitors is the level of customer service. Abraham has been my server several times and he really delivers on customer service. His positive attitude and enthusiasm for his work really compliments the overall experience. This is by far my favorite pho restaurant in Bako. I have tried many near my home in the north west and still when I am craving that juicy savory broth am willing to drive all the way here for this great spot! The place is clean and simple, open 7 days a week, and has good service. It is affordable and a traditional pho style restaurant. They also have a variety of spring rolls both steamed and fried. But nothing beats their broth! 2 sizes of pho in a variety of meats and tons of noodles. The small is plenty for 1 and fills you up with so much goodness so fast. The large is LARGE, which normally I have no problem chowing down on but the quantity of noodles and meat in this tasty dish is too much for me! The server did not even put us first or acknowledged us after taking our order. Turns out he didnt give our order to their kitchen crew and also my family got to eat and i left hungry because they didnt serve my food and id have to wait another 20 mins for it. First time here to trybout another spot with pho and not too impressed. The service was good with friendly staff but the food lacked good flavor as the other places in Bakersfield. Horrible service tonight I loved pho hut ! I've been going a few times a week for the same reason! Tonight was not the service I always get there were in a rush to close. One girl was taking my call and then another girl took over my call because she was trying to rush to get me off the phone. I asked for the 3 meat combo fried rice and she gave me something different I call back to let them know the mistake then the person on the phone tells me that she has to ask a manager she then tells the manager " she wants to switch out the items " I never wanted to switch anything I wanted the correct food I ordered instead of taking responsibility for doing my order incorrect and rushing she put in me . The manager then says I'll have to charge for the other place she wanted because we have to make another one. Why would I get charged another plate if the business made the error . A business doesn't run without its customers and with the service it isn't going to go anywhere! They could have offered a discount on my next plate or even an apology for the mistake would have been fine but people don't know how to take accountability and it truly shows will not be back !!!!! read more
