The pho broth was really flavorful without being overly greasy. Usually with pho restaurants there is a lack of meat, but there was more than enough meat with my serving. Overall, I really liked the pho so I'm excited to come back to see how their other noodle soups hold up. **tried their bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) and it was great!** My boyfriend, on the other hand, was not thrilled about their pork banh mi. I think the difference is other places usually use bread rolls instead of baguettes like this place, and baguettes tend to get crispier when toasted. It really came down to a personal preference, because I tasted the banh mi as well and it was good. It's more expensive than other places ($4.25 instead of $3.50), so that's a bummer. read more

Let me preface this by saying I have only taken my food out to go and have never actually sat in the restaurant. I found this place only after it had been open a couple of months by searching again for pho spots closer to my home. I was going to Pho Ha out in Industry and the drive there was a pain especially in the evening hours when people are getting off of work. I read that there were some people from pho ha working there so i figured to give it a shot. As of this review I have gone there at least 20+ times for my pho needs. First time I went i ordered the #1 and egg rolls. Let me tell you, their pho always comes packed with everything like noodles, meats, veggies, and more broth than pho ha ever gave out for to go orders. The broth smelled of star anise and tasted perfect. I did not care for the spring rolls though, didnt really like the taste or filling. Second time i came I ordered the #1 again but this time with spring rolls. Pho was consistent. The spring rolls however lacked something and the wrapping was either too thick because they were super chewy more than I liked and the dipping sauce tasted like a generic sauce. I find the Egg and spring rolls at Pho Ha to be much better (if you guys can match these this place would be my heaven). If I could give 4.5 stars i would because for me personally it borders on being darn good for pho. read more

My co-workers and I have been coming here for the PHO for about 2 years now. We've had PHO at other restaurants however the PHO here is so unbelievably tasty and so good. They keep the PHO very hot the way it should be and the way I like it. I never get tired of it either. They have other items on their menu that taste great too. You really need to try this place. You'll see what I'm talking about. Enjoy !!! read more

This one of few places that actually know how to make pho. Plentiful of noodles and delicious soup is pretty comforting. Staff here are nice and they can help if you any questions. Prices are decent, a large is about $9. read more

My family has been going to this place because their food is really good. Very satisfying!

Normally not a big pho fan but I really loved the pho here! Especially the dry mix pho with grilled beef

Perfect for a rainy day, or any day in that matter. This is the place to go if you want good Pho across Mt. SAC. The Passion Fruit Iced Tea is the best Ive ever tried. read more

Pho Hay Walnut - On a rainy day, its the place to be. - Vietnamese Near Me - Walnut, California

The BBQ chicken with vermicelli was very disappointing. When my order arrived I noticed big chunks of chicken. I thought they were being generous with their portions and continued eating. Boy was I wrong. I found out that the chicken was undercooked! It was still raw inside. I complained to the waitress. She apologized and offered to make me a new one. I asked for beef (since pork wasn't available) instead of chicken to be on the safe side. Overall, I did not enjoy my dining experience. I went with 3 of my coworkers and they enjoyed their meals so I will give this restaurant the benefit of a doubt and consider this an isolated incident. Would I come back again? Not sure but if I do I will update this review. My advice is that if you order the BBQ chicken and noticed rather large pieces of chicken, cut the chicken in half and check the center to make sure it is fully cooked. The reason I gave this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1 star is because I did not get sick, luckily. Also they made me a new dish. read more

Absolutely tasty delicious authentic Pho. I normally order the large Chef's special. It comes with all different cuts of beef - Rare steak, fatty, slim brisket, tendons ! It's flavoursome and one of my top go to spots. They also do Coffee cards but for Pho! Only down side is they use chemical filled disposable chopsticks :( read more

Can I say this? Thank God for this place! We are relatively new to the area and we have a bunch of small children. The Pho and rice here saved us countless of times. Don't be fooled by the outside, it looks like a ordinary pho restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and comparable to the best in OC. There is usually no wait when we walk in. The owner always greets us with a smile. We order our favorites, grilled pork with rice, special combination pho, chicken pho. The food comes out quickly and piping hot. There is no disappointment here, the noodles don't clump together, the texture remains firm, you can tell the soup broth has been simming long and slow to bring out all the flavors. The pork is grilled to perfection with the perfect combination of char and tenderness. Huge, generous portions for under $10 on most items! If you need to get your pho fix, definitely give this place a try! read more

My favorite place to go to in between my classes. This place offers quick seating, and service, with sensational entrees. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Been here before and the food is ok. Closest Pho to me so the location is convenient. The service tonight was unacceptable. The server was rude from the beginning and rushed us with ordering. Appeared annoyed when we were unsure of what we would be ordering. To make things worse, my card declined. I thought it was their machine but it kept declining and come to find out there was suspicious activity and my bank had suspended my account. My guest only had Apple Pay and they didn't accept this form of payment. While we were making arrangements to get our payment, the waitress continued to be rude and annoyed with us. There was no compassion or understanding for this embarrassing situation. My guest left to pick up money at home and the whole time I remained there the staff kept staring and talking. I will never be visiting this location despite the convenience due to the way they made me feel. I do not recommend this place. read more

Great service. Great food. I grew up eating Pho in L.A. This place is one of the excellent ones I have been to.

Although the people there are really nice , I don't think there food is cooked fresh ... my soup tasted microwaved :( and not fresh

I really like the promotion deal. All you can drink soft drinks. The pho is legit but a bit more expensive then other places. Good service, with kind waiters. Good for any size party. Pro - good parking - good location - friendly server - fast food read more

Its was good food, only thing was the place smelled a lil bit. But everything was pretty awesome

The second i heard they had Bo Luc Lac i was dying to try it. Delish!! I thought it was kinda weird that they served their warm meat directly on a salad mixed with dressing but whatever, it was so good. Glad theres a good Pho place by me, will be coming back for more! read more

Really great place. Servers were pleasant. One of them smiled at me....which is a good thing. Put up with our audio interview, so big plus for that. read more

So glad this replaced the previous restaurant. The place prior to Pho Hai had one of the worst pho I've ever had. I love the pho here! It's seasoned well and made daily. You get quite a bit for the money. I also love that I can actually reheat the broth the next day, and it's just as good as when I ordered it. While the banh mi are pricey, they cook the meat to order, which is a plus (it's also why it takes longer to get). The service was great, and everything is fresh. They've also added boba milk tea to the menu. I'm not normally a fan of jasmine tea (reminds me of soap) but theirs is pretty dang tasty. I can't wait to try their other menu items. read more

The food here is very good staff is nice only thing that sucks Is the parking lot had to circle around

Favorite place for pho and sandwiches when working late on campus. Steak and tendon pho is my current favorite!

tl;dr: Expectations were muted but turned out to be pretty decent for pho... **** Wasn't expecting much but this is one of the closest pho places to our place; all that means is that there aren't that many good pho places close to me. The turn over rate in this mall across from Mt Sac is fairly high which means that there's always a chance that something interesting will come around every 12 months or so. I'm down for a decent pho place that's closer so I don't have to drive to El Monte or Rowland Heights for good pho. I also like the fact that Pho Hai already has two other locations so maybe this means that they're already doing well and doesn't need to rely so heavily on this location pulling in all of the customers as long as there is a steady interest they'll be ok. On the day we came it was filled with a diversely aged Asian crowd which is always a promising sign. Outside of a fast-food chain, this is a pretty tough plaza for a business to make it and selfishly, I for one hope they can stick around for awhile... The menu is diverse enough to offer Viet dishes other than pho like Com rice plates and Bun vermicelli but not specialized enough to offer any real standouts that they would be famous for. We stuck with a couple of bowls of pho for our first time. I got a large and the missus got a medium size, neither of which was outside of expected norms. They had all of the usual accouterments and sides which in itself was slightly unusual for a suburban pho place, but an excellent choice for any Mt Sac. student. Pretty generous with their proteins, they didn't flinch at the notion when I asked for my Tai on the side (nor should they really). My Ca Phe Sua Da was ready made in a plastic cup and it was fine, a lot of places do it this way... I'm happy that there's an alright place for local pho here but it's not going to replace anyone's favorites... read more

The Pho is good, lots of meat, good size and vermicelli noddles with beef is great. One thing I noticed, when you walk in, no greeting, hello or anything. When you leave, no thank you. Would be nice if they worked on that. A little bit of friendliness would be nice. read more

I ordered the #15, which is the rare steak and brisket pho and a Vietnamese ice coffee for take out. The portions are HUMONGOUS here and the pho is flavorful and delicious! I usually have enough food for two full meals. The service is friendly and I come by at least once or twice (don't judge me lol) a week for takeout. read more

Food was mediocre, customer service was awful, no enthusiasm, not even a smile, I asked for something and he told me to do it myself. I asked for food recommendations he said i can't do that. Okay why? Honestly there's better pho places, my bathroom is bigger than this place. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I used to go to this place a lot, but recently, I have regretted it. A few days ago, my husband and I went to this place and when I ordered my food, the receipt turned out to be a complete mess! As my husband and I ordered our pho, I also ordered a to-go for my kids to eat for dinner. The employees should've reviewed our order, but they didn't even though I asked them to. After we finished eating, I began to pay my bill and asked for my receipt. I got confused, but I dismissed the idea that something was wrong with my order and trusted them. After I left, I got into my car. I rechecked the receipt again and saw that they put other orders that I never stated or told them to put. This led to me having to pay more of what my original bill was supposed to be. I'm very disappointed in this place, and I hope they won't make the same mistake again. read more

Amazing Pho, one of my favorite places to purchase... my only down fall with this restaurant, the service is lack luster... the wait staff tends to stand behind the counter most of the evening... Had one of the worst dining experiences ever during our first time here. 1st, we ordered two spring rolls as an appetizer, only to receive a plate of four. Thanks, but that wasn't our order.. 2nd, we were then told that they were out of the brisket/flank for one of the soup bowls we ordered. How do you run out of the ingredients needed for pho as a pho restaurant during the middle of dinner rush? 3rd, the other bowl we ordered came in the Medium size instead of the Large bowl we ordered... Ok fine, we decided to let it go, until... 4th, the check then shows we were charged for the Large size. So you're going to screw up our order and then screw up our check as well? Wonderful. 5th, the final cherry on top, they come over with the now-corrected check receipts and sheepishly tell us that they accidentally swiped my credit card twice for some reason, and had to reissue a refund to the card... and of course, I now see on my credit card statement that it was charged twice with no refund showing at all. If this is the service I can expect during a "grand opening" period, I shudder to think what kind of service I can expect in the future. Thankfully, there won't be a next time as I am not coming back. read more

Loved the food here! Came here with friends several times. Got Spring Rolls, one of my favorites all the times! Will be back more often!

Guys here were polite and very accommodating. I ordered the #38, Thai tea, and some spring rolls. The peanut sauce is the best I have ever had anywhere and the beef cubes, onions, cucumber, and rice with jalapeños dish was awesome! The portuons are great for the price even during dinner time. New place, replaced ther old pho place. Quality is great. Took a little long to get my pho. But it was lunch hour. The soup taste great, and I'd say it's probably the best tasting soup in the area. I would strongly recommend this place. I had the number 1. read more

I ordered the BBQ chicken bahn mi. The sandwich was delicious- flavorful, juicy, tender chicken with really fresh veggies and a crispy roll. However, it was pretty pricey for a bahn mi- $6.50 (the "new" menu is more expensive than the menu photos posted on yelp). The restaurant also smells funky like other reviews mentioned. I will definitely be back for a quick bite to eat! read more
