It complimented the silky tofu over rice very well.

It's the same little hole in the wall. The service is the same vibe, but there is a new colorful menu and wallpaper and the prices have skyrocketed! Honestly, what used to make this place remarkable was the great food, and really fair prices. You could eat here often and feel good about it. The portions were fair too. Everything feels the same but now it hurts. Everything is essentially $5-7+ dollars more than it always used to be. Still, worth an occasional visit, but I'd frequent more often and spend more money and bring more people with me if prices weren't so extreme.

After that it was all downhill. Entered to a slightly busy restaurant. Told to take any seat I did and was immediately surprised that the table was very wet and sticky. The cashier/server said "oh I just wiped that down " and handed me a menu. I sat there reading the menu. After a few minutes I put the menu down. The table was dry and guess what? Sticky. No problem just got up and moved to a new table. Ordered my food. Got to sit next to the cashier who pretty much was just flipping pages on his phone. Seated next to me was a delivery driver who was watching videos on his phone with the volume turned up. Ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, Anchi's Combo Sandwich. The egg rolls were tasty but tiny. I mean tiny. I get these at Vietnamese restaurants all the time and these are small the peanut sauce was meh. Next came the spring rolls or should I almost Spring rolls . On the smaller side with a fresh wrap. Only it was 80% shredded lettuce, 10% noodles and the smallest split shrimp. Nothing else! Not a slivered of carrot or cucumber or a touch of mint and or basil. Which means there's NO flavor.Even the dipping sauce was boring. Okay the sandwich has to be good I've never had a bad one. Until now. It came out oozing with what I'd called "buttery mayo" which it may have been but it drenched the sandwich and made it a sticky mess. Sticky now (I understand the table.) Most of the ingredients were sliced into tiny slivers even the meat. I was so disappointed in the whole experience. Did I say something no I never saw the "server" again at the table. But I could see him flipping through his phone nonstop during my entire visit. Oh and to top it off the driver had laid his head on his arm while his phone was still on an he was asleep. So after having to get up and ask for my check. After which time I was told to walk around to the cashier counter (I kid you not.) My 1 and only visit ended.

The tonkotsu broth was not very smooth but the sato broth was better. They do offer a frequent diner card. Overall, SATO Ramen was just an okay experience for us.

I would have preferred steamed dumplings, but there was no choice, fried only. The taste was very nice and they were pleasantly crunchy. (photo) I loved the broth of the soup; it was plenty hot enough and perfect for cold and flu season. I would have liked broth only, and I asked if I could have without the rice noodles. Yes, I could, but the price would be the same. Okay, so I took the noodles on the side, to go. Even so, I was shocked to see the size of the soup bowl. It had to be at least a quart of soup, with chicken, wood ear mushrooms, bok choy, fried tofu. The rice noodles would have put the soup to the brim. Seems there is only one size of everything. If all of the soups are served in these quart bowls, plan on sharing with one or two others if ordering soup. They will give you extra bowls and spoons, as they did for us. Even with the two of us having some soup, I took about a third home. (photo) I had one of the Crispy Pies, scallion and pork. The filling was too thin or maybe the dough was too thick. Or a little of both. (photo) Employees are friendly and pleasant, eager to be helpful. JBC is a new and welcome addition to the Marshall's Plaza. Great selection on the menu between curries, noodles, soups and rice dishes. I ended up with the Shrimp Dopiaza which ranks in one of my top favorite 5 dishes I have ever had. The flavor was amazing and SPICY, served with long grain rice, curry and lots of huge shrimp! My husband got the Special Beef khichiri which was delicious, lots of bones in there though so be prepared if you aren't expecting it. We also ordered 2 garlic naan because we were expecting a small idk, 6 in diameter disc? NO. You get 4 huge pieces per naan, practically the size of a full pizza. We should have split one but if you like garlic, this has about 2 cloves per slice. Its delicious! For dessert we ordered Gulan Jamun and Rasgulla. Oh my, it's like spongy donuts in sugar syrup. So good! Will definitely get takeout again! P s. You have you pay $1 for a bottle water if sitting down.

The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.

We did have reservations, but we didn't see anyone waiting all night. We got lots of appetizers to split amongst the table: the mushroom dumplings, cucumber salad, one of each of the fresh rolls, 1000 broccoli, and some type of bread with cheese that I'm actually not sure what it was called and after looking at their menu again I can't find it, but I'm attaching a picture for reference. I would absolutely get the bread and the broccoli again. Those were our tables favorites. Everything else was still delicious. I got the chicken and broccoli lomein, large size, medium spice. The spice level was great. The portion size was very generous and I took home leftovers. I will say they do charge you $3 for the large size to get a mix of chicken and broccoli so be aware of that. The waitress did warn us which I appreciate. I did enjoy the lomein noodles. I tried our friend's hand cut noodles and udon. They were all great and everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress was super kind and helpful. With a large group she handled us very well. She even split the bill multiple ways which we appreciated since I know that can be a pain. They forgot our friend's rice dish so she sat there for a while with no meal while the rest of us ate. After a while we notified the staff and they apologized and brought it out quickly and even took it off her bill without her asking which I was very impressed with. Most places would not do that. They did also charge .50 for going up a spice level which was interesting but not a huge deal. Also be prepared to sit for a while. We were a large group so understandable things take a while. We were there for a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes and that was just from the time we sat until we got the check. It seemed like our waitress was in charge of most of the restaurant. Besides those few things that went wrong I thought the service and quality of food made up for it.

The burger onion rings Mac and cheese bites and chicken sandwich were all good but u felt like it could've been more seasoned and also more of the flavor of each individual food.
