I quite enjoyed my pho at Pho Dau Bo. Surprisingly, it was my first time there but my friends that I came with, had been there plenty of times already. I obviously ordered a small pho with rare beef and beef balls. The rare beef really stood out to me. It was so tender! I've never had meat that tender at any other pho place before. It caught me off guard lol. The beef balls weren't as great but they were alright. As you can tell from my picture, include put tons of greens, which in turn, makes their pho broth super flavourful! I did a little happy dance at first sip. They aren't pinch with the meat either. I did try one of my friend's spring rolls and it was really good! They make it kind of like filipino lumpia. They're larger but the stuffing looks very similar to lumpia. It's minced pork with possibly some carrot in there. They were hot and fresh and had a nice crunch to it. Thankfully, I can eat the spring rolls here since they don't have shrimp in them (I'm allergic). My usual pho place already has shrimp mixed into the stuffing =(. Don't expect a super modern looking place. It's a typical pho place. Come for the food, not the looks. read more

The reviews were mixed below and I wanted to give this place a try. I must admit it wasn't the cleanest place to walk into. The table i sat at wasn't cleaned properly from the person before and i had to ask the server to do a better job. I ordered me some pho special with all the fixings. I also have to admit that i am not Vietnamese, but I've traveled my ways around the globe and have had the pleasure of seeing experiencing pho at many places. I think this dish wish its flavors can stick with some of the best of them. I did find the broth a little on the Salty side, but overall, I was satisfied and will go back there for more. read more

To be fair, only stopped in for a quick drink. Was sin the mood for bubble tea and it was one of the only places open at night. However after seeing the menu got tempted into this really cool looking drink with different little jellies and stuff. So decided to try that instead of bubble tea. And boy do I regret that. I did not enjoy it at all. The things in it were tasteless and it was stuffed with kidney beans which just felt totally out of place. Just not a fan at all. Been to their shops in North York, Mississauga, Hamilton, this one is up to their standard. The broth was slightly on the oily side. The meats were fine. The rice noodles were perfectly cooked. The herbs, especially the bean sprouts were not very fresh. The place was dull. The service was ok. Brampton has trash selection when it comes to Vietnamese spots. Having said that, this place is one of only two in town worth mentioning.

I have been frequenting this place with my family for over 10 years and we have never had a negative experience! We usually get an extra large Well Done Flank (218) along with their crispy and flavourful spring rolls (101). I hella recommend getting multiple bowls of your choice along with a fried rice (preferably 801 Thai Style Chicken Fried Rice) for you and a group to share. Grilled Pork (501) is also a grwat option if you would like a single balanced meal. Their Iced Coffee and Taro Bubble Tea are also favourites that we get every time we are here. The service is quite quick and efficient, Katie and Bruce helped my mother and I with our food as of our recent visit and they were very helpful in choosing our food and getting the best takeout. I hope to explore more options of this place the more I visit to furrher the depth of this review. read more

Hu Tieu My Tho may be my new favorite thing to eat next to Pho bo vien. Give it a try if you like seafood. Delicious broth without smelling like the ocean or tasting like it. The restaurant isn't all that big so it tends to get crowded during lunch on the weekends. Plenty of parking though and decent service. Great food for a great price! read more

Hopefully my review will bump up the ratings for them as we really enjoy going here and think it's a great Vietnamese option in the area. Yes, the service is best described as "efficient and you'll be lucky if you get a smile" kinda place. But we've never really had issues with our order and it's always fast. Truthfully after visiting 10-15 times, I wouldn't mind a slightly expanded menu like another restaurant I visited in Mississauga (it's still a pretty large menu btw) and we have noticed some dishes have been scaled back more recently. But those are fairly minor things when you can appreciate the consistent good quality, delicious taste and great price of the food. They also accept credit cards, unlike another restaurant in Brampton. It's definitely not a fancy joint, but this chain is the original place to eat pho for a reason! PS - recommend the coffee and avocado shake! read more

But today, my friend and me drove towards Pho Dau Bo for a delicious lunch. Arriving at the restaurant, we sat at the nearest table. The décor was simple, utilizing a dark green and white color design. The room was spacious enough to move around. Perusing the menu, I decided upon Pho with well-done beef. My friend ordered the Pad Thai. Both dishes arrived quickly, steaming hot and fresh. The pho tasted average, as the broth was too salty. However, the texture of the noodles were soft. The beef was tender, complimenting well with the noodles. My friend said the Pad Thai delicious. The noodles were perfect texture. The sauce was sweet, spicy, and salty, balancing each flavor perfectly. Pho Dau Bo is great for a quick bite or eating out with friends. The food is average, as the Pho did not impress me. Great place for pho and apps. Tried the deep fried crab claw, fried spring rolls and fresh rolls for apps. Rare beef pho, Clear noodle seafood, rice with grilled chicken or pork chop with fried egg. Ever since I had their Vietnamese spring rolls, Pho Dau Bo has been my go-to spot for Vietnamese food. Granted I have never been to Vietnam and not at all qualified to assess the authenticity of the food - I liked what I had enough to keep returning to this spot over the years. We usually do take out and get their fried rice, spring rolls, vermicelli, and the sea food pad thai. The food has been consistent and take out portions are generous. The only complaint I have is that they do not give enough of the chilli flake sauce which is a bummer as I love spicy food. I also find that when we do dine-in, the serving portion tends to be smaller which is why I gave a 4 star rating. Overall, the place is affordable spot for good take out. read more

If it's the only pho place around, then yea. Might as well go. It's nothing to write home to mom about...Unless you want to tell her their broth lacks flavor and all their smoothies are made from powder and other flavoring and not the real thing. And it's overpriced, $5 for a small cup. And tell mom that their beef balls are cooked unevenly. One pho bowl would have soft balls while the other pho bowl would have balls harder than a baseball. I ordered Vermicelli with bbq meat and sausage along with a freshly squeezed orange juice. My boyfriend ordered Bun Ariel, which is like a tomato crab noodle soup. My bowl was really oily. The Vietnamese sausage was very sweet and the meat was extremely fatty. I had also asked for a side order of a small mini pho soup, which normally is free but was charged $1. My boyfriend soup was extremely salty and lack the authenticity of its flavour. The workers were Vietnamese and so this place is ran and perhaps owned by an authentic Vietnamese person. We love ordering Vietnamese Iced coffee every time we go to a Pho store- especially it's dripping process and you can really taste the flavour. They actually used powered packets of Iced coffee which you can taste the grains. I am truly disappointed in this place. Of all the Vietnamese pho places across the GTA, Pho Dau Bo is my absolute favorite and probably one of the best. For those who are not familiar: pho, noodles, and ramen are NOT the same. If you disagree, prepare to throw down with hardcore pho lovers. The reason I hold Pho Dau Bo in such high regard is because they have multiple locations across the GTA, stretching from the Hamilton area to Scarborough. It never makes a difference which location I go to. The menu is identical and the quality is always consistent. Not only that but even if you order a small pho, it's bigger than most other places. Of course, Pho Dau Bo doesn't just limit themselves to pho but also a number of really good Vietnamese dishes. Though my favourite thing to order is a number 344 large beef and chicken pho, I also enjoy their rice and vermicelli dishes. It's definitely a good choice if you want quick services and affordable food that's filling and satisfying. read more

This is my go to pho spot whenever I'm in the area visiting. Normally I have a hard time deciding between their house special pho and broken rice with porkchop since both are delicious. That was a severe blow to the Pho name. The service isn't a D grade as mentioned earlier. It's an E to an F. Sat down, took them 10 min in a not busy time to give us tea. When I called back to order, i was told rudely that we needed to write down our order then give. I didn't want noodles in the beef / chicken soup just some extra veggies. The server flat out refused. Rudely. Still placed the order, plus for a shrimp mango salad, Vietnamese style spring roll with shrimp. Last order was shrimp stir fry on bamboo something. v62? Ambiance: Backyard restaurant. Nothing to write home about. Not unexpected. Food: my soup which was basically beef / Chx broth with protein and veggies was nice. Then again not much to cook there. The shrimp mango salad was 4 fried shrimps placed strategically at the angles of the pyramid mountain of sour mango. Pointless. The shrimp rolls were again terrible, not rolled tight and just lumps. The last order for the shrimp we got the wrong order. (Twice). They gave us Pork instead of shrimp and instead of remaking it just removed that part from the plate and added a tiny bit of shrimp to it. We could tell. The shrimp skewers on bamboo were even worse. We had a hard time figuring out what the order was. Most of the stuff was left on the table uneaten. Also did I mention the servers didn't even bother coming to the table until we waved for a while. All in all one of the worst meals I've had in quite a long time and by far the worst pho places. Absolutely not recommended. read more

Being a first visit at location, we definitely won't ever come back. My family and I walked in just under 9:20 pm. One of the older ladies, working at cash, greeted us with a sweet smile & directed us to a table. We noticed there were no other patrons in the restaurant. Uncertain, I double checked to see if they planned to open until 10pm as advertised, or closing up early. (Many pho restos tend to close early if they aren't busy - pho 99 grand park, alike) The cashier assured us it was okay, and proceeded to seat us. At that point, two younger ladies who were cleaning up, began scoffing at us, cussing in vietnamese, and tossed the menus onto the table. ...really? Needless to say, we left. read more

I eat here A LOT and I adore this place! The staff is great, the food is hot, fresh and delivered within ten minutes of ordering, now that's service! This is easily the best pho I have ever had. I usually get the deep-fried crab and a taro bubble tea for sure, my dinner and lunch orders vary but I can say that I have tried almost everything on the menu! So really ordering anything would not be a bad decision! This place is becoming more popular now so almost daily the place is pretty busy but the food quality and service have not changed since I first started coming here seven years ago! Way better than Pho Mi 89/99 in my opinion.. Clearer broth, better flavor, not too expensive. They've got a fantastic Cha Gio pork & shrimp spring roll, WAY better than most other chains in my honest opinion. They've also got a very solid grilled pork chop on rice, nice and caramelized although small. Had to take a point away for the poor service although it's typical of Pho restaurants, and definitely is not very clean. Tables are always unwiped and sticky, and the bottles for condiments are always greasy and uncleaned as well. But it is what it is, a solid bowl of pho! read more

Went in for take out and when I got home I must have gotten someone else's order. So I'm not sure how to review. I'm not quite certain what the dish was that I took home but it was tasty. There was meat that I believe was beef but it was a little sweet for my liking. Some salad and rice noodles also. Had a few good meals here on my jaunts to the vast wilderness known as downtown Brampton. Positives were nicely seasoned chicken with a good amount of fresh vegetables and steamed rice, a delicious mango shake and fast, efficient service. Unfortunately the joy came to a screeching halt when I ordered a well done beef and rice noodle pho with a side of "vietnamese style" spring rolls. The Pho, tho nicely portioned and flavourful was way to fatty and largely inedible with full slabs of fat. Nice rounded flavour but you advertise beef, and I didn't order tripe or tendons, I expect more strips to eat than 1. Not very pleasing. Knockout blow was the spring roll which wasn't listed with ingredients, yet I wrongly assumed this was a lighter incarnation with vegetables. Not so. The spring roll was an indistinguishable mash up of pork and shrimp which I bit into unknowingly. Yes I'm an idiot for assuming the 'spring' roll was vegetarian and yes after 30 years of zero pork consumption my stomach did more flips than Dominique Dawes, but the real belly churner was the reaction of the waitress. As I pointed out the pork problem and lack of info on the menu...politely at that, I was told flippantly that it was my fault, I already bought it and I can't take it back. What??? I didn't even ask for a refund, an apology for the lack of menu info and sympathy for my upside down insides would have sufficed just fine. So the only tip left was the crooked table we sat at, I left unsatisfied and convinced that this had happened to other customers before. Don't blame the diner for your lack of menu details, print a revision on the menu so any other people who buy food know what they're getting, what they may be allergic too and what could ruin a potentially decent dining experience. read more

My fiancé brought me here and while I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the quick service.. I have always had a view of where I'm eating, based on their toilets.. And so I finished eating, went to the bathroom and the toilet cubicle I went in was disgustingly dirty, dusty, and just unclean.. I felt sick leaving.. The way I see it is, if the bathrooms filthy, God only knows how my food was cooked! So overall wasn't happy with this place :( the food was lovely but attention to detail on the cleaning wasn't!! I really like this place. Whenever we have a cold winter day, I often dream of a nice warm bowl of pho to warm me up. I usually end up going for the spicy beef or chicken. If I'm in a laid back mood I also order the blood pudding because that is definitely one of my favorite things. The amazing thing sbout this place is the fact that the food is made to order. The bowls come out steaming hot and all the condiments you need such as soy sauce, sriracha and so on are readily available. The restaurant is hard to find if you don't keep your eyes open but it's a very nice place nonetheless. read more

I've been to a few places in town and have a few favourite spots. I'll be adding this one to that list, especially since my go to place closed down and opened under new owners. Figured I'd stick to the basics for now to try them out. Got an extra large Pho tai nam. Soup was awesome. Was surprised at the size. Was expecting a large size like most other places since the XL was priced the same as other place's large size. Ate what I could and was still left enough for two lunches. Also got some pork spring rolls which were great as well. Going to try their Bun bo hue on my next visit. If they nail that one, they'll become my new go to place. read more
