After 11 years, Pho Da Lat, you continue to suck a lot! We finally went back today and ordered two bowls of pho and one Vietnamese crepe for our son. The two bowls of pho came out quickly. They were ok, not super flavorful but not awful. They were stingy on the meat, and we got a large too, would have expected more but it was less meat in there than a regular size bowl I get at Pho 88. After 30 minutes, the Vietnamese crepe is still not out after we inquired on it twice. We gave up waiting since my husband and I were done with our meals already and the food still wasn't out. We ended up having to get McDonalds on the way home for him. They never even tried to make things right, just kept telling us it will be out soon and asking us to wait. Came here for Vietnamese food. Parking was convenient and the lot was fairly big. We were able to sit at a booth and it was perfect size. I got the number 34 which was a rice plate with sliced pork and added an egg. Everything went well together with the fish sauce. Love this place! We came here after having a nice long day in NH and driving back to MA. The pho was delicious (and speedy) and the service was friendly and accommodating. Love how the pho dac biet broth turned out, and the rice plate we got was pretty yummy too. I opened up Yelp to see what people recommended... and lo and behold there were a LOT of negative reviews. After reading them, my husband, son, and I almost got up and left before we were even served water. But my son was too embarrassed to get up and leave, so we stayed and ordered the pho.... We ordered the Seafood Pho and Crispy Phad Thai and told our server that we were splitting it, he still only brought one plate and one bowl and was confused when we asked for another plate and bowl (brought the bowl, not the plate). Then, when I tried to use the restroom, I find out that I can't because I can't get my wheelchair through the doorway of said bathroom. To be completely honest I was shocked when Pho Da Lat opened up in Drum Hill, making it the third installment of this restaurant in a 10 mile area. Pho Da Lat took over the space vacated by Garlic Bistro and I am glad they did! What an awesome addition to Chelmsford! If I'm being transparent I really never had been to any of PDL's previous locations. After wanting a hearty Asian-style vegetarian meal I perused their nicely designed website and I was thoroughly impressed. My sister and I decided to grab take out last night: #92-a vegetable and tofu soup (pho style) and #94, vegetable and tofu with flat noodles and sauce. Total was $22.36 with tax which I found to be completely reasonable. The takeout was ready after 15 minutes and was piping hot! The bag was also heavy- an indication that I received my money's worth (hey, I'm not hating that entrees in the US are super-sized). The bartender was very nice and professional and helped me with the takeout order at the host podium. While at the restaurant I was impressed with the remodel and the modern design and clean, sleek look. There is also a pretty huge fish tank that separated the bar area from the dining area. I definitely would eat in the restaurant next time. The food was still hot when we made it to my parents house and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. #92 was separated into a canister of nicely seasoned broth and a paper takeout box with the medley of vegetables and tofu and vermicelli noodles in it. There was also a small container with some kind of brown spicy sauce which was excellent and a clear bag of sprouts, basil, jalapeño slices and lime wedges. #94 consisted of fresh vegetables and some sautéed tofu over flat noodles and sauce. Both entrees were delicious. I definitely enjoyed my meal and ordering experience and look forward to my next visit to the restaurant. Check it out for yourself! The soup here tasted like grey skies, my favorite weather! I loved how the server knew my therapist's advice to be independent and help myself by leaving me alone for extended periods of time and having minimal intent to talk to me. We were just in the area and were looking for some place to eat. The reviews were good so we decided to go here. The interior was beautiful, very modern and sleek. My biggest pet peeve in a restaurant is when they have a fish tank for decoration and they are way too small for the fish. It wasn't the case here. The water is clean, the tank is huge with a small number of fish. We got seated very quickly in a big booth. It was a midday during the week so the place was empty and we could actually hear another group of customers were talking in Vietnamese. It was that quiet. I ordered Hu tieu Nam Vang (pork broth white noodle with seafood) The bowl was huge but most are just noodle. The seafood are fresh and broth was flavorful and light (a little too light for my perference though). My husband ordered the combo fried rice and he loved it. He cleared the decent sized plate even though he said he wasn't that hungry before the meal. The staff was polite and soft spoken. They did check on the food once but never refill the empty water. Decided to come here spontaneously with my bf and we were very impressed with pretty much everything. Ambience: Easy going; there's a nice bar to chill @ if you're not looking for a big meal and just want to stop by for a drink or two. Food: Decided to order the 7 course beef meal; it was my first time and they did not disappoint. There's a choice for SM or LG, we did large because go big or go home. I always recommended this business. But last time my husband and I went there, we are really not impressed. It's 2 stars just because they finally take it off the bill after we tried to explain what we complained which not really what we tried to achieve. Well anyway just a warning, and hope you guys not experiencing what I had. So I ordered me ketang no.41. With shrimp. When it came, I can smells it fishy, which never happened before, so I thought maybe the fish sauce? So I tried ate the shrimp and spit it because It raste mushy and fishy. So my husband tell the waiter that my shrimp is fishy, and I asked him if I can have beef instead? In 8-10 mins the waiter came back with me ketang with beef on top. I can see that it's the same noodle they just picked the shrimp off and replaced it with beef, and I also found a shrimp on the pile of noodle when I tried to mix the noodlewith beef. So I began to eat the noodle and I tasted the fishy-ness from the shrimp. I just keep eating the veggies and the beef and done. Although no. 41 is my fave noodle Im so sad not able to eat the rest of the noodle. When the bill came, they charged me still with shrimp on no.41 so my husband was trying to explain the manager, the waiter is just pretend not understand the situation and the manager that day said 'ooh the kitchen don't know, they wasn't told' idk who blame who. I just want them to charge beef, and make my fave food fresh. And ought to your mistakes. Thats all. I rather pay my food than leave this rotten review. I don't normally write reviews even when the service is bad but this takes the cakes. I tried most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the greater Lowell area because I'm renovating a house in Chelmsford and on a cold days, Pho is what I'm craving for. I decided to walk in this restaurant and no one was at the front desk and I can see two of the waiters out back. I looked at the menu and had asked to be seated. The waiter came over and I told him #17 Large special pho and a HOT TEA. 10 minutes later, no hot tea and the waiter brought out the bowl of soup. I asked him again for hot tea since I would like to drink it before the noodle gets here. Now that the noodle is here, the spoon and the fresh side veggies is not here. Waited for several more minutes while the soup is getting cold and finally he brought out the veggies and spoon. I asked for chili garlic oil and still no hot tea. I started to put the veggies into my soup and a found piece of hair is stuck to the slice of lemon, he finally brought out the kettle of tea but it was like warm. I told him that there's hair on the lemon and never apologized and just took the plate out. At that point, I was almost done eating the pho, not much meat for a large bowl and I drank a half a cup of warm tea and went to the register to pay the bill. The total came to $18 and some change and I just questioned him since the noodle is $13.95. He said the Hot tea is $2.99. I don't mind paying anything that I ate or drink regardless of the price. I have never been charged for drinking hot tea in a Vietnamese before especially when I'm eating in there. It's like asking for tap water and getting charged for the glass. It's that bad that they have to charge customers $3 for hot tea. I would have been fine if the service was good and the tea was hot and brought out in a timely manner. read more

We came to this restaurant for the first time because we got lost in an unfamiliar town, turned around, and happened to find the place. One of the foods we ordered was cooked in water broth not tasty the way they cooked and I had to take it home to add other colorful veggies such as carrots, and broccoli and add spices and sauce to make it a lot better taste for my son stayed at home. The bill receipt was just a credit card payment total without a price description for the customer to keep, the merchant copy is stapled with each price description receipt of what items we ordered, drinks, appetizers, and main meals for a total of $90 for two of us when we saw the stapled merchant copy of each price, not for us customers, we weren't careful about checking the prices of each food, however, we later noticed that we were overcharged quite a bit just like many commentators here are saying. It's disappointing if the restaurant or wait staff, do not have honest ethics towards diners. Needless to say, we will not go back there. read more

Pho Da Lat is my go to pho place in the Middlesex county area. They're noodle soup are amazing, so much taste and you're able to choose from many options of pork, beef, shrimp, mix of seafood (I'm a sea food lover so this is my calling). So for me, the seafood noodle soup was one of their best ones, although you can't go wrong with chicken or wonton. I love that they have different portion sizes for the noodle soups. They have a variety of options for noodle dishes. Their crab rangoon was probably one of the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). As well, their grilled shrimp steamed vermicelli was a mediocre dish, however I do wish they added more of a base to the dish. But, I also think that vermicelli is meant to be more dry! The restaurant is nicely set up and decorated inside with a nice staff. Will definitely be coming here for most of my pho cravings! read more
