This place is a little hidden. I have driven past this place many times and have never noticed it until I looked up Vietnamese restaurant on yelp! Saw it had some decent reviews so I gave it a try with my family. We got there and it was at the corner of the plaza. The inside was clean and did not look like anything outside. We were immediately seated, and the lady was very nice. We started off with their wings (3 garlic soy sauce and 3 salt and pepper drums/wings) and their pork spring rolls. The appetizer came out fresh. I personally would probably do without the wings next time. It was fresh and not bad but there were too much breading on it. The fresh spring rolls were good along with their sauce. We ordered their chicken pho, bun bo hue, fried rice, and their vermicelli noodle bowl with grill pork. Their food came out super fresh and delicious. The fried rice was exactly how I like it. I love how it has the crispy burnt of rice to add to the texture. Their chicken pho was fresh and refreshing. The broth was clear and delicious. The bun bo hue was actually one of the best in the area. It was rich in flavor and absolutely delicious. This little hidden spot makes their food delicious, and I highly recommend people to try this place.

I've been seeing videos of the Bun Rieu on my social media so I was excited to finally try it. Unfortunately, it's was only ok. It was a little on the sour side and the broth lacked flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly though. We also ordered salt and pepper chicken wings, but it was dry. The service was a bit slow, but they did apologize and explained it was because they got the orders in all at once.

My parents love Vietnamese duck noodle soup, along with pork intestines and blood sausages. After doing some research on Yelp, I found this place. We arrived around 2pm on a Friday and there was only one other customer. Initially, my parents tried to order in Vietnamese but it seems like this place is a Chinese owned restaurant and they don't speak Vietnamese. Therefore, we communicated with them in Cantonese. We ordered 3 duck noodle soups, pork blood sausage & liver heart, and charbroiled pork over rice. As for flavor, the duck noodle soup was just okay. The soup was lightly seasoned and the duck was super chewy and dry. My daughter's rice dish had thinly sliced pork that was so dry that it tasted like jerky. No comment on the pork blood sausage & liver heart appetizer. Since I'm not into organs, I didn't try it. My dad had to use the restroom and was told that the restroom was outside the restaurant. When my dad came back, he said it looked like a communal restroom for the whole building and it was super dirty. Parking is plentiful. Customer service is great but the food is definitely lacking.

I watched the Anthony Bourdain Vietnam episode where he ate with president Obama and I had to eat what they had. So I came here and ordered the Bun Cha Dong Xuan, pork meatballs with vermicelli noodles. It was excellent, very simple and down to earth. The service was good, they did not bring the check so I just went up to the register and paid. The ambience was typical Viet/Pho restaurant.

A hidden gem out in the open! Loyal people have been coming here for 30 years I hear and although I'm late to the game, I'll def be eating here for the next 30 years. I've ordered the Bun cha Hanoi style several times! Its a warm noodle dish deconstructed with powerful savory and tangy notes served with a healthy serving of herbs and veggies. This dish originated from the capital of Vietnam which is Hanoi. For this dish. every ingredient is served separated and you can essentially put together your soup anyway and any style you want to. 2nd dish on mind but tied for number 1 in my heart is the Bun Rieu. Its served super piping hot and I mean steam clouds burn your lips hot and its the chefs kiss perfect remedy for a cold stormy winter weekend. Its savory flavored from a pork base, some definite tangyness from the tomatoes and a hit of crab which somehow all mixes together to completely confuse the mind outta me but convincingly makes sense in the mouth. Taste buds got smacked with some unexpected complexity for sure. I want moaar. They've also amped up their decor with a recent remodel and their menu has been updated too. I haven't tried everything ...yet. But i will def be back for more. Two Yumz up. =d

Pretty good bun rieu! It's a little more on the tomato-ey and sweet side but still yummy. Portion is very generous. Friendly service. My daughter loved their fried chicken!

Great service! Food came out in a timely manner. The food tasted like each dish was made with care. The flavor of the grilled pork was the highlight of the visit + texture of pho noodles is perfectly glutinous! Underrated Vietnamese restaurant in Sac's Little Saigon.

I felt bad that I came here 30 minutes before closing but I needed to try their $11 bun rieu while I was still in town. I have to say it's the best I've tried in Sac and I've been to different places in the area. The $11 small bowl of bun rieu filled me up. I also appreciated that the service was great despite that I came in close to closing. I highly recommend this spot specifically for their bun rieu.

I ordered beef chow fun dry no vegetables. This lady brings out gravy seafood chow fun. Took it back and still made it gravy beef chow fun!! The amount of gravy or whatever that was I had to pour it out...At this point I'm not making my son wait any longer. I told the lady for future reference the chow fun needs to be fixed because it was so bland. My son barely touched it. And she had the nerve to say why didn't you tell me you wanted it dry! I told the lady at the beginning of my order. She was arguing with me about how I didn't say I wanted it dry....thats crazy work.

After a year of renovations, Pho Bolsa is finally back! Pho Bolsa is an iconic Pho restaurant that has been in sac since 1991. The remodel of the restaurant itself is amazing and they updated their menu as well. Some items were taken away and some new items were added. I got the chicken pho ga and it was so good. The meat was tender and their portions and pricing can't be beat. You can pick your noodle and meat type (dark, white, mix) as well. Great customer service, ambiance, and food. I'm glad they're finally opened again and will continue to keep coming back.

My wife and I have been coming to Pho Bolsa for over a decade. Normally, we'll get pho but today I tried the spicy pork noodle soup. It wasn't just pork. It had beef and goat in it also. Plenty of greens on the plate, very delicious. Very nice dish.

For a "small" bowl of porridge, that's a pretty good size...

Must order the Bun Cha Dong Xuan and Cha Ca. The fish was so tender. The vermicelli and fish sauce were perfect with the pork patty.

Does Bun Rieu Soup have pork or is it just crabmeat? Thanks!

I don't remember having any discernible pieces of pork in mine.

I appreciate the decor when you walk in - it's like half modern along with paints as if you're from Vietnam. Server recommended us the beef rib over rice which was marinated with lemon grass and meat was tender. Usually it's pork chop or chicken but beef rib elevated the rice plate. Special spring roll combo - sooo healthy. Make your own spring rolls. It comes with nem nuong (sausage pork), vermicelli noodles, crispy rice paper, lots of veg). Dipped in their sauce, it was definitely my fav. It's interesting that their sauce consistency is thick. Banh xeo - I wish it came a little crispier. Lots of bean sprouts under which made it a bit soggy if not eaten right away Pho combo - flavorful broth, good portion of meat, noodles was in perfect condition. It was our first time assembling our own spring rolls at the table, which made for a fun and memorable dining experience. The beef rib pho was packed with flavor, generously portioned, and easily left us with enough leftovers for another meal. I also tried Nem Chua (fermented pork) for the first time and absolutely loved it. Everything tasted fresh, simple, and homemade--the kind of food that feels like it was made with care. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and I appreciated that they're open earlier in the morning, making it a convenient option compared to many other Vietnamese restaurants. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. We'll definitely be back!

Out of all this shop's positive traits -- portion size, taste, authenticity -- the most head-turning of them all lies in their menu prices. $6+tax for a large sandwich ($3.25 for small) is unheard of, particularly in California.
