Pho is always 50% off so don't be alarmed by the $26 price tag listed in the menu. The menu comes with fried rice, egg rolls, Chinese dishes like orange chicken and Mongolian beef. Pho Anh Trang definitely looks unassuming, but the pho is legit. The broth was amazing- very beefy, and a little different than a lot of pho broths I've tasted. Some of the meat in the pho was great, some pieces were a little eh (same goes for the tendon). The crab cheese tasted super fresh and crispy, like they just came out of the fryer. This place definitely feels like a local spot. The service was friendly and efficient. The food came out at different speeds but that was okay. We were a table of four and we ordered quite a bit of food. My spring rolls with shrimp were very good. Nice and plump with a great dipping sauce. You get a hot and sour soup or egg drop, plus an egg roll with an entree purchase. The shrimp toast was dense and tasted like a cafeteria fish stick. The Pho is always half off. It's hilarious until you try it. Then it's hilarious and irresistibly delicious. I've had a handful (or bowlful?) of pho's around GR, but this place has to be some of the best. It was pretty good! I didn't have any complaints - the only thing I'd say is that I love it when my pho comes out piping hot. This was moderately hot, which is fine for most people. I'm just picky that way. The noodles were nice and relatively soft, and the broth was pretty flavorful. I've had more flavorful broths, but this still passed! Something I thought was kind of funny was the way they priced their dishes. All the pho dishes were listed as $20, but above the listed pho dishes - and printed - it said 50% off. So... we got a deal? It seems like a forever deal... We even ordered a dessert at the end - it was something with tapioca, coconut, and condensed milk. Something that I noticed, the soup base for the 2 noodle soups are different, I can't say that about every pho locations. Pho Anh Trang is hitting on every level. It's one of those places that you never want to leave. It has an old diner feel. Large open space, where you don't feel like you're standing over other people. The noise dampened by well aged booths and signature carpeting. Well broken in, but not dirty by any means, that's how you know you found a special spot. The pho broth will warm your soul. The perfect blank canvas to doctor it up with all the chili and fish sauce your heart desires. I was unfamiliar with shrimp toast, but gave it a try anyway. I suggest you do the same if you haven't. It's been two years since I moved to Austin, TX, and I still find it incredibly difficult to find pho that matches the quality of this place. Just last week, I visited Grand Rapids, MI, and within two hours of landing, I begged my friend to take me to this spot for lunch. The staff is always friendly (they're always open to moving your seat if you ask!), and the pho is reasonably priced (it's ALWAYS half off!). My favorite item from their menu is their Vietnamese coffee. I've tried countless others in the past - from other pho restaurants to boba shops to coffee houses - but nothing comes close to theirs. They serve it in a glass cup with ice alongside a cup of condensed milk, while hot coffee drips into it. After a few minutes, you're left with one of the best Vietnamese coffees I've ever had. And let's not forget about the pho itself - it's simply AMAZING! Even though I'm not the biggest pho fan, I always finish every last bit of their bowl. My go-to order is usually the rare beef and beef brisket, but I'm confident all their other pho selections are just as good. We had a little bit of everything. My husband started with the Pho Anh egg roles, of course stating his signature phrase "if their name is on it, it's got to be good" haha he hasn't been wrong yet! These were rich and crispy. I loved the sauce it came with, really broke up that richness. It was a cold day, so I ordered the wonton soup. I believe it was only $3 and had a nice large wonton. It was very tasty and not too salty! For our entrees we got : Thai Fried Rice Pho Both were really amazing! The Thai rice had a sweetness in it which was from the pineapple. Love that surprise. This place used to be my favorite place to eat. I told everyone about it. My wife and i had bought their food for our first baby shower and brought it all the way back to North Muskegon. The broth has gotten weaker, their giant pho bowl #1 used to be huge and now it is the size of the old smaller version, and it is not filled as high as it used to be. When I showed up to pick up my food, the total was over $20. $6 for the eggrolls and $14 FOR FRIED RICE!! I showed them their own website on my phone and they said, "oh that is not our website, we don't use yelp, and anyway those menu prices are 10 years old." I paid anyway because I'm not a turd and when I got home the food was very average cheap chinese food, nothing special, and for these prices I actually expected great food. But regardless the price is on par. This pho doesn't come with cilantro so if you don't like cilantro, you're in luck. Don't come here for the ambiance - it's very basic/scrapes by the minimum level of cleanliness. One of my go to places when I'm visiting my hometown. There's not many good and authentic Vietnamese restaurants but this place has been around for ages. Very affordable and family owned. Their bite size eggrolls with the sweet chili sauce has always been my fave. I usually get their pho but this time I got the combination rice platter . You get this big delicious pork chop, fried egg with an egg quiche, shredded pork and shrimp over broken rice. Broken rice is literally just smaller grains and it soaks up the fish sauce that you get on the side which make it all taste amazing. It brought me back to when I was backpacking in Vietnam and we stumbled upon this tiny restaurant on the side of road that only served this and you eat at a little table with your friends or family. The decor has definitely not changed in ages and they could really use an update on some things. I'm all about keeping the authenticity of atmosphere of a mom and pop type restaurant but it can use a little Umph to attract more people who may be reluctant to try a place like this. The women who work here also kick butt, they work so well together and are always on point! read more

But if we get terrible service every time, why would we come back you might ask. Well, the food is really great and as authentic as you can get. The spring rolls are full and loaded, you get two per appetizer and it's super filling. They definitely didn't skimp out on the ingredients. Tasted fresh and shrimp tasted great. Comes with a dipping sauce of hoisin, chili, and peanut crunches. Crab Rangoons were okay nothing exciting and the filling was light. Now the pho is always so great here. This is the reason we come here when we're craving pho even though the service is terrible. Broth is super rich and flavorful, the meat is nice and juicy, and the noodles are great, although sometimes we do get undercooked noodles time to time. We've tried the boba tea here a few times but be warned you will most likely get it at the end of your meal or not even at all, as I feel the server has to make it and they do the bare minimum service. Overall this place is a great place to get authentic Vietnamese food from the selection I've tried, as long as you're fine with receiving terrible service and the fact they have no COVID precautions for their employees, who are allowed to walk around with no mask or they have the mask protecting their chin. My favorite menu item is #38 House Special Vermicelli. It's fresh and delicious, and not too heavy. Has 3 little meat egg rolls on top. I ordered carry out, and the dressing comes on the side. This dish is like a cool summer salad. I just love it. Treat yourself to a Vietnamese coffee, and/or a smoothie bubble tea for dessert. Pork chop was well cooked and tasty and the meatball was even better. The rice was the best part, unique in taste and texture, and probably the best rice I've had. The Bun ~ was also very good. The Vermicelli was done just right and all mixed very well. Overall the I preferred the Co'm Tam Xu'o'n Nem Nu'o'ng. Both dishes were more mild then I was expecting, but didn't lack any in taste. The only restaurant in the midst of a super industrious area. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon this place but I'm glad I did because it hot the spot and I really wish I could give this place more stars but see below. You do not come here for the ambience but the pho tasted as about as fresh and flavorful as it gets. Definitely authentic flavors. My only concern is that this is the first Vietnamese restaurant I've been to that did not have huge over the top portions. For once in my life, I finished my entire bowl of Chicken Pho! It might had something to do with that I was traveling all day and hardly ate but still, I am normally full before I can eat HALF my bowl. Delicious, nonetheless. Just be prepared to pay the same normal price for a smaller portion of pho. What's nice is that they also serve Chinese food which is a huge win for me because my boyfriend isn't very adventurous so he got almond chicken and fried rice. The fried rice was very mediocre but almond chicken was good but not what we expected. Almond chicken is normally breaded with an almond sauce but they was sautéed chicken with a sauce on it. I unfortunately have to add that the bathrooms are very outdated and do not appear clean. The entire restaurant could really use a facelift to be honest but the bathrooms need some work ASAP.
