Have you ever left a restaurant feeling so satisfied just in full food coma and wanting nothing but a good nap? That's what happened to me this week after having a yummy Bahn Mi and soup. It was like a full foodgasm hard to describe but able to hit every sense and taste. It was my second time having their food but this time in person. The service was fast! Like you come and get down to eat and things don't take long to come out. I ordered two different things and though I ate only half of each taking the rest I took home I can say it didn't disappoint! The Bahn Mi is either pork or chicken, I've only had the pork and is super delicious. I can't sing it enough praises. The soup was not pho and I apologize for not remembering the name but it was soooo good with lemongrass and the right amount of spicy. I asked for less spicy and loved that it had a lot of beef and pork in it. Now let's talk about their Vietnamese coffee! All jokes aside this coffee will wake anybody up. Is strong but really good, you can always ask for extra condensed milk and I suggest letting the ice melt a bit to help with the strong taste. I love coffee and it didn't bother me. My family was craving pho so we decided to check out this place since it was close by. I am not local to Sac and being Viet I of course have higher expectations when it comes to viet food. I was happy to stumble on this place! I ordered the pho tai gan sach (beef, brisket, tripe) in a large and man, their large is definitely big! They give you a lot of noodles. I could tell that there was a good amount of msg since I was thirsty throughout my meal despite drinking a lot of soup/water, but overall the flavor of the broth was decent and satisfied my craving. The rare beef was a bit dry and chewy for my taste though. Service was a bit slow considering some people who came right before us were eating for sometime before we got our food. I noticed others who came after us who got their food first too. As for ambiance, what can I say? Looks like a traditional Vietnamese restaurant to me lol. The rice was ok, you could tell the peas/carrots weren't fresh at all but we were starving so ate it anyway. The soup had tons of veggies and a lot of noodles. Pho ABC doesn't disappoint. My go-to everytime: large pho tai (rare steak) with egg rolls. Their soup broth is clean and doesn't taste like soup with a bunch of additives and flavor enhancers, so this factor alone has me coming back quite regularly. A great bowl of pho consists of good quality meats, a perfectly balanced bone broth consisting of aromatics with lots of natural oils, and the noodles having a perfectly rigid texture after it's been boiled. Based on these metrics, I would give Pho ABC an 85.0 rating on their pursuit to serve Sacramento the perfect bowl of pho. Pho ABC hits the spot everytime and saves me the trip from having to drive down the 99. So thankful to have their locations in this part of the city. read more

Love this spot for a classic bowl of Pho! I usually door dash this place but I have been inside to dine once. The pho with rare beef is my go-to! Came in for a quick lunch. Because of state mandate, no indoor dining but this restaurant also converted some of their parking for an outdoor dining. They have mist sprinkler that blasts the outdoor dining area. Seating is extremely limited but I came in when lunch was over. Staff wore masks and greeted me when I entered the restaurant and I wanted to eat outdoors because it is a nice day. There is no such thing as customer service here. It took them 10min to acacknowledge me and get me seated and they were not busy. I should have left them. Everything I asked for I literally had to get up and go retrieve myself; straw, jalapeños, to go containers. Oh wait not the check they brought that over promptly after my food arrived to the table. The Pho was decent and the egg rolls were slightly over cooked. The price was reasonable. This is definitely a grab and go place or food delivery place. The sweet & sour chicken idk if it just didn't have enough sauce or what but it wasn't good, the shrimp tasted like it sat out for ahwile under a warmer or was overcooked & cream cheese wontons & egg rolls were meh, the crab cakes were crab sticks and they were weird. I've just only tried this place today for the first time and I usually like to try a restaurant a couple more times before writing a review but I was so impressed that I was compelled to give them a 5 star rating after the first try. Came in with party of 7 and we were able find seating right away during the busy weekend lunch hours. I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee. Strong, bitter and sweet, just how I like it. Entree I ordered the seafood crab and shrimp egg noodle. Broth was amazing, full of flavor that I did not feel the need to add siracha or hoisen. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of different seafoods it contained. Much more than the typical pho places I'm used to offers. There was imitation crab, shrimp, shrimp cakes, fish balls, bamboo, book choy, cuttle fish... I mean all kinds of goodies. I also like how they have a vast selection here for every taste bud. This is a Vietnamese and Chinese pho restaurant so they also had items like chow fun, banh mi, chow mein and much more for times when not everyone is craving pho soup. I honestly really think this is one of the better phos in the Citrus Heights/roseville area. Broth is a make or break in pho and I really enjoyed it here! The food portion/price ratio is good and the interior is very cozy. The people who work here are very nice. Really enjoyed my duck egg noodle soup. Seasoned very well and they were very generous with the amount of duck, veggies, noodles and soup. Took the pork banh mis and combo vermicelli plate to go. They were all a hit. CH is rough around the edges and quite a distance from me do I don't find myself here too often. That said, if I'm in the vicinity, I'd definitely eat here again. There aren't a whole lot of Vietnamese restaurants to choose from like you do in South Sac. However, Pho ABC came highly recommended by my dad. We had a party of 5 and was seated as soon as we arrived. It was a slow night. We started off with some Shrimp Spring Rolls, the Fried Calamari and Fried Chicken Wings. Healthy right?!? We try our best. Very difficult for me to eat clean when I'm home visiting family. We all wanted a little of everything on this particular night, so we shared our items. We ordered the #16- Combination Pho with Beef balls, the Yang Chow Fried Rice, and the #53 Charbroiled Shrimp, Pork Shrimp Cake over rice. Everything was delicious. It was like being at a buffet because we had just about everything we wanted to eat, to include the starter items. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. Over and over again, I come to this place and have a great meal at reasonable prices and that's the intersection of how I deem this restaurant. The pho tai was an ugly brown color and the flavor was not anything like a good pho. We were very disappointed. We had hoped it would've been better. OK first let me start off by saying the customer service from the gentleman in the front that took my order gave me a very unwelcoming feeling. He looked like he did not enjoy his job. He gave off a grumpy vibe. I ordered the the Spring rolls with grilled chicken. It was missing cucumbers which is my favorite part.. It was very plain tasting.The grilled chicken tasted OK. The presentation was nice nice. The 2nd thing that I ordered was two of the Phó soups. 1 in a small and 1 in an extra large portion. I believe we ordered #7 rare steak and lean brisket and a #16 the combination beef soup. It came with beef ball beef(which I only got one cut in half, pics below) tendon, tripe and some other beefs. When we ordered the small and the extra large, I was thinking more broth but it was based on the veggies. Some more onions, being sprouts, mint, and meat. The broth tasted, amazing, very flavourful. The noodles were dry, hard and old. When we put the noodles in the broth they were breaking up into little pieces. We were also given 2 broth containers total for a extra large and a small. That was not going to be enough broth, so I bought 2 more total was about 5$ more. I do not think I will be coming here again, I would like to try other restaurants to find the best one for me. read more
