Upon walking into the establishment, there was a rude old man working in front of the front desk. He asks me what I want. One of the workers approaches me and begins to greet me, the rude old man waves him away and he leaves instead of saying anything more I say I ordered online, and he asks my name, I tell him my name. The soup was not pho and I apologize for not remembering the name but it was soooo good with lemongrass and the right amount of spicy. I asked for less spicy and loved that it had a lot of beef and pork in it. Now let's talk about their Vietnamese coffee! All jokes aside this coffee will wake anybody up. Pho ABC doesn't disappoint. My go-to everytime: large pho tai (rare steak) with egg rolls. Their soup broth is clean and doesn't taste like soup with a bunch of additives and flavor enhancers, so this factor alone has me coming back quite regularly. A great bowl of pho consists of good quality meats, a perfectly balanced bone broth consisting of aromatics with lots of natural oils, and the noodles having a perfectly rigid texture after it's been boiled. Based on these metrics, I would give Pho ABC an 85.0 rating on their pursuit to serve Sacramento the perfect bowl of pho.
