We arrived on. Wednesday at 6pm to no one in the dining room. We were greeted by friendly staff, and ordered dinner plates. Egg flower soup 10/10 Egg rolls 6/10 The sesame chicken was underseasoned but not terrible. 5/10 The General chicken had good spice but bad flavor. 3/10 The chicken chow mein tasted burnt 3/10 White rice seemed old 3/10 Somehow even the pre wrapped fortune cookies were burnt. 1/10 While we ate one of the servers watched his very loud Chinese telenovela from a couple booths down. Not the vibe my dude. 2 plates, 1 app $55 Would have been happy to pay this much for a super yummy meal but sadly it was not. Much better Chinese food 1 mile in either direction on Sunrise. Among other things, this place has its menu's posted all over the net in various places with grossly outdated pricing. Like soup the show's $5.95 on yelp is $12.95 in the restaurant. Ordered a veggie soup because I was not feelin well, got it home to find out it had chicken in it. Old, outdated, and not exactly honest. Check your receipts! Good reason to make this the last time. read more

We have been coming here for 15 years plus. The food here is always so delicious and yummy and the service is always super great and they really take good care of you as well and are so nice and friendly and kind. The restaurant is always clean. Yes the food prices have gone up but with the amount of food you get and the service you get it's well worth it. Loved my chow fun. Amazing staff! Was staying in the area and walked to dinner here solo. Was greeted and allowed at any table I liked. I got a menu with lots of delicious options. I did wish there was a salad or XLB. The water was so yummy. I hadn't had water all day and it was so good. I ordered the chow fun. It didn't take long for it to come out. Lots of fun meats in there and a big plate of noodles. Excellent flavors. The staff were so nice always coming over to fill my water and chat and joke. I asked for water to go and the server told me that he buys red solo cups and gives them to guests because it means a lot to him to add convenience. I really appreciated that gesture. He shouldn't have to buy them himself for guests! The pricing is very reasonable. It's super clean inside. The curtains on the windows are closed to keep the sun out so it doesn't look very inviting from the outside but it's very bright and cozy inside. Several years have gone by since I tried this place last. Overall, I was unimpressed. Here are my thoughts: The good: the shrimp were tasty. The pork in the fried rice was delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked. There were plenty of snow peas in the vegetable mix. The service was fast. The bad: the shrimp are small about the size of a dime. The hot and sour soup has way too much vinegar. The shrimp with snow peas was really more like shrimp with mixed vegetables and some snow peas added. The chunks of zucchini were way too thick. The sauce was a little salty. The ugly: the gentleman at the front when I walked in, was detached, uninterested. He didn't really seem to care whether or not there was anybody there which there really wasn't. Only one other person in the restaurant at lunchtime. read more

Ordered house chow fun, Mongolian beef and cream cheese wontons. The chow fun had zero flavor - no crispy edges, no garlic black bean - nothing it was completely bland almost like they forgot to use sauce to season the dish altogether. The Mongolian beef - also zero flavor! Not only was it not spicy but you literally cannot taste any onion or garlic and the beef was over marinated in baking soda to where it was almost mushy.. They do not have a website. The lady there said the waste is not theirs. The prices are totally wrong. It's much more expensive than that menu there. When we told the lady there she just smiled. Very expensive and bad food. The website posts prices that are 1/4 of actual cost. I got a combo plate for dinner and an order of crab and cheese wontons, and they charged close to $40!! Had I received full à la cart entree amounts for each of the items, then that would be an ok amount, but for combo plate amounts, that is absolutely absurd. The wontons were good, but the sweet-and-sour chicken was very tough, and the chow-mein was bland. I threw out most of it, and I don't think I've ever thrown out Chinese food leftovers. Wanted to check this place out for my love of oriental food. It is about 5 miles from my house the parking lot was packed but the restaurant was not. Walked into an empty place, we had our choice of seats the dining room was a little dated but very clean and nicely decorated. This place gets a very high rating on Yelp must be for the takeout business there was a lot of it. We were served quickly by very friendly and courteous staff, As far as the food it was a pretty good portion size we had leftovers. Except for the chicken wing appetizer they were too good had to eat them all, Got the spicy squid it was quite flavorful. We also got the orange chicken which was good also but if you know me who wants to eat chicken when there is squid on the table. Trust those who Yelp regularly... Driving home at a late hour with a rumble in my stomach, I accidentally stumbled upon China House. It was nearly 9:00p, there were no cars out front, and I pondered the Yelp reviews for a moment. I decided to give this place a chance, and glad I did. The gentleman at the front register helped me choose a Combo Plate, rather than the various dishes I had selected... I was far too hungry to make a wise meal selection. Was there with several of my girl friends today and had the most wonderful Chinese lunch! We had the egg drop soup, sesame chicken, sweet & sour pork, stir fried beef, pork pot stickers, bokchoy with 2kinds of mushrooms, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fried chowmein, stir fried white fish with veggies, and fried mini buns with red bean paste. Everything was very authentic Chinese food, meaning it wasn't "Americanized" in my opinion. The sweet & sour pork was not fluorescent red in color nor artificially sweet and the pork was crispy on the outside and tender in the inside and very tasty! Nothing seemed "heavy" with the thick layer of coating. All the vegetables were cooked right, not being almost raw, but just right. Plus the vegetables were very fresh! Needs some improvement. The chow mein seemed really greasy, & no flavor but the grease may have just been overpowering it.
