Consider a honeydew milkshake to go. The fish sauce chicken wings are required eating. No, just stop. I don't care if the name doesn't sound appetizing to you. Why do you have to be so basic? Go eat McDonald's chicken tendies instead while the rest of us go "ooh, mami!" from the umami bomb that these addictive, crispy, and craveable bites bring. Where my low carb eaters at? I haven't asked if there's any sugar in the pho broth, but otherwise, pho without noodles is a slam dunk. Order up a xe lua size and get lost in a big steamy bowl of 5 different cuts of meat, herbs, sprouts, and savory broth for like 30 minutes. I got 89 problems, and this place ain't one. read more

I had pho the night before at other restaurant, here I wanted a different soup but ended up got pho, again(dont know what I was thinking). It sure did have me compared between the two. Unfortunately this place stands behind. My husband and my brother had pho as well. From our opinions, pho was mediocre, kind of lacking of flavor. Base on the name of the restaurant, they should be specialized in pho but obviously they should work more on it. Other people in our party had rice dishes with grilled meat & tofu, pork chops, meat with vermicelli, vietnamese ice coffee. They thought those were good. It's nice and welcoming inside. Staff are great. This place is still new, but it looks promising, just need some time to grow. read more

Okay where do I start, I live near and never attempted to try this place until I seen that all of my friends have been here except for me, with that being said these are my thoughts. I ordered take out and I had to wait 60 minutes for my meal, that didn't bother me the issue was that the food was ok, not exceptional for a 60 minute wait. The salty shrimp was ok , just had to much batter and became stale. The house special fried rice was really good so I give that 5 stars. This was definitely not our first visit here but disappointed that since using Yelp, it is my first review and regretfully not the best service we've received. We started going here since my uncle recommended this place and said the food is tastefully delicious, which is and my review is not really about the food! We arrived at the restaurant before the rush (aka the party of 12) and wishfully thought good thing because we'd be out of here before they even get started get their food servicing, etc. BOY WERE WE WRONG! The wait staff waited on this party of 12; was that necessary to have your entire wait staff cater to one party? The tables of 2 and 3 were of course dismissed and left in the dust. We were included in that party of 2! We waited about 20-30 minutes for our food. We ordered the Pho, the KBBQ entree, spring rolls for appetizer and 2 fountain drinks. Yet the party of 12 started getting their drinks served, drinks that required blending as well. We on the other hand was served our entree first, waited 10 minutes for them to serve the spring rolls that was supposed to be the appetizers AND lastly had to get a wait staff 2x for our fountain drinks (mind you the party of 12 received their blended cold drinks before our fountain drinks). The food was exceptional delicious so kudos to the chef! While we ate, I noticed the staff neglected the other tables including ours for the most part since they all waited and assisted the party of 12. After we received our order backwards, we were never checked on by our waiter, never asked if we needed any refill on the tea or our fountain drinks or simply if we needed anything else to our order. After we consumed all our dinner and had our napkins on our plate, that's when our waiter asked if we were all set and if someone gave us our check yet. To be honest, we didn't know who our waiter/waitress was since multiple people served our table since the orders were incomplete and missing. Anyway, we asked for our check, and we waited 15 minutes for our bill to get to us. We put our money in the book and waited 10 minutes for someone to pick it up; we were asked if we needed change and I said yes. Then we waited for our change, however the same waiter came coming through attending the party of 12's table and the tables around. 11 minutes stroll around, the same waiter who picked up our check asked us "did she give you your change?" And I said no. So he took about another 11 minutes to get our change. I was honestly thinking how difficult is it to process a transaction on a register? Then finally he came back with our change and I asked him who our waiter/waitress was since he referred to another waitress, he said it was him but he gave her our check. For starters, why are the wait staff handing off customer bills to another wait staff? I mean, if you take our bill and money, I would think if you take it YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for closing out the transaction since that's how most wait staff do it anyway. I mean why hand it off when each wait staff is capable of that task or should be? I feel the wait staff should be more attentive and be trained to wait on all tables and ethnicities/race. To wait a total of ~45 minutes to close out our bill is ridiculous especially they kept waiting on the bigger party and closing out other parties that received their bill after ours. read more

This place just surpassed the other 2 Vietnamese restaurants in Randolph for me, I would say the food is even better than the other two big ones in Randolph. The other two in Randolph have been too successful and do not try as hard anymore. This place gives the extra effort to get your business and it shows. I usually go with the healthy options: shrimp salad (goi tom), seafood soup with catfish (canh chua ca) , and the seafood clay pot is delicious with crispy crunchy rice on the bottom, is the best clay pot I've ever had. I got the Pho Dac Biet (special) and there wasn't really anything special. There wasn't even any beef balls. The price is similar to any other Pho places which is around $10. The taste wasn't too bad, but it was fairly greasy. At the end of the meal, I had grease tasting in my mouth and it wasn't very pleasant at all. If I do return here I would probably try something other than Pho. read more

The pho here is really good but today I ordered a "Com tam thit nuong", which is "Broken rice with grilled pork" I wish I could give a picture of this because WOW just WOW. I work from home and went to pick my order up and when I opened the box, it is "plated" so beautifully and looks so fresh and tasty that for all of about 2 seconds I thought to myself, "this is just too good to eat." I hate to give a bad review to a small business, but the vegetarian pho was underwhelming. I'm writing this because I was on the highway and needed dinner, and this place has a good rating for local restaurants. I assume people's experiences with non vegetarian options is probably decent here. What I ordered was the first featured entree in the vegetarian section, and it was a watery pho with no flavor, and large pieces of mostly raw vegetables that were hard to manage, plus a few vermicelli noodles and some generic fried tofu thrown in. Plus one piece of mushroom. It was late.. maybe the cook just felt done for the night, or maybe they assume vegetarians are masochists, so pouring warm water over a selection from the prep bar is exactly what I was looking for. read more

This place is great. I've tried Pho in a handful of places in the Boston area, a couple in New Hampshire, and a few in the San Jose area when I lived in California and this is the best I've had yet. The staff is friendly and attentive, the decor was beautiful, it was super clean, overall it had a very relaxing atmosphere. Everything from the blue ambient lighting on the bottom of the bar, to the beautiful artwork on the walls was just awesome. I got the beef flank Pho and boy was I happy I did. The soup came out rather quickly and was loaded with flavour, without being too salty. The soup was loaded with tender meat and noodles, and they gave plenty of fresh garnishes to spruce it up. Pho 89 is relatively new to the Randolph area and we had heard good things so decided to check it out. Unfortunately the pho had a little too much cinnamon for my taste but the beef in it was good. I would stick to Pho So 1 for the pho. We also tried the Bo Kho (beef stew) which was definitely a more rich and delicious broth. The beef included a lot of fat and tendons which made it somewhat difficult to chew but was still tasty nonetheless. The avocado shake was spot on. Made with fresh avocados it was rich and creamy but not too sweet. The avocado flavor really shines and even the creamy texture comes through. This was the best avocado shake I have had in the Boston area. They have a huge menu featuring every single Vietnamese dish you could possibly think of. The restaurant is also very large, I'm guessing they could easily accommodate a large party and they did a great job of separating seated tables while I was there. Service was solid. Tried the classic com suon nuong dish, grilled pork chop with steamed white rice, shredded pork skin, a vermicelli meat loaf, 2 sunny side eggs and vegetables topped with the sweet fish sauce. Thumbs up for the display, I can tell they really pride themselves on this here, with the big plate and everything. They also give you 2 sunny side eggs, that's definitely a winner! The dish was good overall, my only complaint is that I wish the meat was grilled a little more to be on the crispy side. My boyfriend had the grilled chicken dish and he got the same impression, could be more crispy and have more grilled flavoring to it. Also had the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk, which is 1000x better than DD. I'm not even a big coffee drinker and thought this stuff was so delicious and could easily be my new addiction! I'm so happy i found a vietnamese restaurant nearby me so i don't have to go to Boston all the time. PROS: Parking lot available; restaurant is very spacious compared to other Vietnamese restaurant; Great for Groups; Waiters are really nice here; Clean bathrooms; Take both Cash and Credit Card; Have TV here; CONS: my only complaint for rice dish ( com dat biet) would be the portion is smaller compared to other place but still taste good. BO 7 MON aka 7 course beef: is really good here. If you never have Bo 7 mon then you are missing out. Its basically beefs that are prepped in 7 different ways. 2 out of the 7 course you actually cook it yourself (which is the fun part in itself). The only dish i would have to say is lacking compared to the other places is the Beef dipped in butter course. Typically, the beef itself suppose to be seasoned with a sauce then you cook it in the butter but they don't seem to season the beef so you might just taste only the butter. But again, each restaurant has their own particular style when making BO 7 MON, so not every dish may be prepared the same way. But, I absolutely LOVE the "bo tai chanh" course a.k.a Rare beef in lime juice salad. The BO 7 Mon always come with a side of plenty of veggies; vermicilli noodles; and vietnamese wrapping paper and a dipping sauce. Sooo good! My husband and I got the beef pho (I think the first one on the list looked like the main one) and it tasted fresh, with fresh and juicy limes on the side. If it weren't so far we'd definitely make it there more often. Honestly better than than some of the local ones in Boston and I was a die hard fan of one of the super popular ones in the downtown area. I recommend it! I went last weekend, its a little strip mall that is kind of a strange mix, an African church down below next to an Asian grocery store that is quaint but not terribly well stocked, the restaurant itself was pretty basic in its decor. We ordered just one Seafood soup and the fresh spring rolls and a relatively decent Chicken Terriyaki. The ice Coffee was quite strong, the soup was pretty good, the fresh spring rolls was the weak point in the line up. Its a pretty basic dish and sometimes places just don't quite make them that well. Its nice to see this type of cuisine make its way now all over New England. The past six months I have been all over New England and its pretty amazing how many now have been opened! read more

This place was a great find. Very convenient to the highway and plenty of parking. We came after a long day of hiking in the Blue Hills reservation and pho was exactly what we needed to warm up our bones. The restaurant is very nice, not at all what I'm used to Vietnamese restaurants looking like. Nice big fish tank in the entry way and a large room upstairs for additional seating. I will say it was pretty cold in there, but the service was warm and friendly. The food was really good. We started with the pork meatball spring rolls, which were pretty great. The peanut sauce was excellent. We got a pho tai and the thick crab noodle soup. Both were great. The crab soup could probably be shared between 3 people. It's sooo thick and hearty. Like a giant egg drop soup loaded with extra goodies like fish balls, shrimp, imitation crab meat and thinly sliced pork. Holy crap, I'm going to be craving that one in the near future. Food is on point and service is friendly. Went for a late lunch with my girlfriend. She had 62- bun with grilled chicken and I had the 65- bun with grilled pork chops and grilled pork patties. Both rice noodle bowls came with plenty of food. The fish sauce was on point, had a good balance of salty and sweet. Unlike other places which tend to make their fish sauce cloyingly sweet, pho 89 got the right balance. Lettuce was finely shredded, so was the cukes. Got to love that. I hate restaurants that throw big chunks of lettuce and cukes in the bun. The only thing I ask for is fresh basil. Love fresh basil with my bun. Servers are friendly and courteous.
