Had a great experience at Monkey Lounge in Randolph and honestly was surprised by how unique the atmosphere was. The inside has a really fun upscale lounge vibe with colorful lighting, floral decor, hanging lanterns, and a huge centerpiece tree that makes the whole space feel almost like you are dining in a tropical garden. It feels trendy and lively without being overly loud, which made it a great spot for both dinner and drinks. For drinks, I ordered the mai tai and one of their mocktails. Both were well presented and came in beautiful glasses. The mai tai was refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet like many places make them. The mocktail was also excellent and felt thoughtfully made rather than just tasting like juice. For food, the short ribs pho was fantastic. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the portion was generous with tender pieces of meat. Definitely one of the better pho presentations I have had in the area. I also ordered the sizzling steak pate with baguette, which came out hot and smelled amazing. The steak was tender and savory, the egg added richness, and pairing everything with the fresh baguette made for a really satisfying dish. Overall Monkey Lounge delivers on both ambiance and food quality. It feels like a hidden gem if you want somewhere with strong date night energy, aesthetic decor, and Vietnamese fusion dishes that actually taste as good as they look. Monkey Lounge is definitely a hidden gem in Randolph. I stumbled across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were the only two people there. The aesthetics were so pretty (as you can see in the video I uploaded). They had a short window of time where it's happy hour where you get half off 2 appetizers (per table). We ordered Braised Pork Belly ($12) this was a 7/10 only because it was alot of fatty meat, Wings/Soy Garlic Flavor ($15) 10/10, french fries with the garlic sauce that it comes with on the side ($9), side of white rice ($2.50), for my drink a Blueberry Mojito ($14) 9/10 just wish it wasn't such a small amount with a Hefty amount of ice but it was good. Lemonade for my kiddo ($6.50 she said it was a 4/10) and for dessert Ube Tiramisu ($10.00) 1/10... We weren't a fan of the Tiramisu but overall everything was good. Beautiful interior decoration, unlike other Vietnamese restaurants. The menu features a fusion of dishes that pair well with alcohol. The dishes are neither hit nor miss. Nice place for a drink and quick snacks, but probably not a place for dinner. - Grease Snails (Oc Mo) with Garlic Butter ($20) - lacks garlic butter taste, but the snails are good. - Clams with Boiled Lemongrass and Basil Broth ($18) - the broth was sweet, but the clams were so small that most of them fell out of their shells.- Soft Shell Crabs with Honey Walnut ($20) - Normally, we would order shrimp with honey walnut at other Asian restaurants, but we gave this a try. No walnuts that day, which is fine with us since the crabs are the main ingredient. The dish had too much mayo, and I didn't even realize pineapple wasn't served with it; instead, there was just some chopped lettuce at the bottom as decoration. - Pho Beef Short Rib ($22) - Broth was clean, not oily, even though it was served with short rib. The short rib was well boiled, the meat was soft, and not much fat. - Pho KIS (Keep It Simple) - Broth is hot, and lots of meat. - House Sizzling Beef - Bo Ne ($20) - Not worth it, just like regular stir-fried beef with onions. NO sizzling when served, it was lukewarm. - Monkey Feast ($40) - Served with rice vermicelli, featuring sugar cane shrimp, grilled pork sausage, grilled beef wrapped in betel leaf, and Vietnamese ham. The place was pretty inside and out, so nice ambiance. We wanted to love it, to find our next go-to place. But unfortunately, we were so disappointed. We ordered an appetizer we never got. We ordered a coconut mojito that tasted super sour like pure lemon. We wanted just seafood, and received beef, asked for our hotpot to not be so spicy because my wife doesn't eat spicy food, and the broth was the most spicy I have ever tasted and I like spicy food but it was too much for me. My wife was fine ordering something else and her pasta was nothing special. We gave up. Maybe we ordered all the wrong dishes. Hopefully other enjoy their food. We were also looking forward to hearing people sing karaoke but no one went up. Not many people at the restaurant that night. We won't be going back. read more

Beautiful decor. The entrance is a bit weird but don't let that deter you from coming. Our server, Evan was fantastic. He danced for us! Greasy snail- with butter and garlic sauce. super garlicky and delicious, must order! Clam- on the lighter side but the lemongrass and lime leaves flavor is prominent. Also must get. Crispy rice- This reminds me of Chinese claypot rice. Pair this with the greasy snails and oh my god. Pho- it's alright. They serve it on a hot cauldron. Cinnamon forward and one of the better pho I've had. Seafood tower with fresh oyster- Fresh no complaints. Pull pork cheese fries- delicious and pairs well with an ice cold beer Half of their house special chicken- I heard it's always sold out but I was lucky tonight. All you hear is the Vietnamese music blasting in your ear and I was definitely not feeling the vibe. After the food came, I was starting to enjoy this place. The food was yummy and I would come back. Owner checked up on us a couple times too. -Mango Salad: Super fresh and veggies were nice and crunchy. Only wished it was spicier. Asked for more nuoc mam on the side. Nuoc mam was super garlicky and flavorful, used it on everything else for the rest of the night. Loved it. -Oc (snails) in coconut milk: nice and thick sauce with lots of coconut and lemongrass flavors. Not much meat in the oc but LOVED the sauce. -Banh Xeo: liked how it was 2 mini ones and had lots of veggies. Yummy and crispy. -Pork Belly Bao buns: pork was a little dry. Not much flavor here. -Oysters: fresh -Bo Ne: had good flavor so the onions were yummy. Loved dipping the bread into the sauce and the coconut sauce from the oc. It has been a while since I been here but the last time I came here I had good food and drinks and the staff were really friendly.

Food: The Thai tea was pretty good, it was a little bit diluted, but you can still taste the tea pretty well. I got the Vietnamese pancake, which was a good size and you had plenty of garnishes to eat with it and the sauce that comes with it was perfect. The butter garlic escargot provided with a good portion of it and it was delicious but I thought it was rather still bland without the sauce, it could've been the type of butter they were using like it's not salted? Lots of garlic. My friend ordered the coconut shrimp which honestly wasn't really what we had expected bc it was five shrimps on a coconut. I definitely would come back to try the other food options as this resembles my culture. Service: the service was rather slow as we came on a day that it was during somebody's birthday, so we had to constantly ask for their our server for things or when we needed something. It took a while for us to get the food and bill as we were just sitting there waiting for during dinner. Ambiance: It's Vietnamese inspired so you're going to see a lot of celebration and partly like vibe if there's a birthday. Surprisingly we did go and it was during somebody's birthday so it was loud during the whole time. They were doing karaoke which feels like you're at a live music, but it was so loud during the whole time which can be a bit much if you're just trying to have dinner. It's a very beautiful lounge with unique furniture pieces, and it's rather spacious with outdoor patio seating. Location accommodation: There's plenty of parking in the back. Wow what a unique and magical place! They decorated the entire restaurant impressively with colorful plants and artistic objects.
