Yes, this Pho 79 in Pinecrest is run by the same owners that own the FIU and Davie locations, but you can't tell by the signage, decor, and menus. This place looks nothing like the other two. I usually go to the Pho 79 near FIU since it's closer to me, but I must say that this Pinecrest location has a much nicer ambiance while the service is more relaxed and not as rushed. If you're familiar with this area, you might remember that this location was home to the pricey and mediocre Miss Saigon. So let's just say that this has been a welcome change. And if you missed Miss Saigon, you can now find them in Coral Gables. Anyhow, my Sapporo Light beer was just $4.95 and I ordered the large pho (#34) which came with meatballs, tendons, and many types of beef. The pho prices are based on size: $10.95 Small $11.95 Medium $12.95 Large They also serve traditional appetizers, rice dishes, vermicelli noodle dishes, and more. Food is definitely a 3 or even a 2 for my standards. My parents make great pho and I live in an area where there's pho at every corner (more than MacDonald's). For the local crowd in the Florida area, I'd give it a solid 3. Service is a 5. We don't get this kind of attentive service from a Pho restaurant, where I'm from. All the servers and a person who looked like the owner was very nice and accommodating. We visited this place twice. and they charged us an 18% gratuity fee. Ambiance is typical nice and casual. Got here on Thursday night at 7:20pm. The restaurant was quiet. I ordered a Vietnamese sandwich to go and got my food after 20 minutes. I can tell they have quite a bit of order for pick up so I did expect to wait for a bit. Got my sandwich and saw they put the veggie in a separate bag which is nice. Went to Pho 79 today for lunch and hadn't been for a while because of my schedule. I usually get the beef and meatball pho but the server recommended a new dish they had called Bo Ne. It's basically a Vietnamese version of steak and eggs. Tbh I usually like steak and eggs for breakfast but I pulled the trigger and tried it anyways and I'm glad I did! It was only 21 bucks but tasted like a 50$ meal hands down. Needless to say I'll be back the next chance I get to have it again. read more

I cannot tell you how amazing the pho at Pho 79 is. I was definitely not expecting such good pho, and you might not be either, but believe it. The taste is authentic, the portions sizes are huge...what more could you want? My stomach and I were both so, so happy about the pho. I ordered a small bowl of pho with rare steak and tripe, and thought it was so, so delicious. It was a warm day, and to be honest, I wasn't really even feeling like eating pho, but this pho...no regrets. None whatsoever! Pho 79 gives a lot of beansprouts, mint, limes, and are very generous with their serving size. Two members of my party ordered large bowls of pho and boy, were they LARGE. (My pictures do not adequately show just how large though.) Tasty soup, noodles were a good texture, and generous servings of beef and tripe. Definitely some of the best pho I've eaten in my life (and I've had my fair share of pho meals)! I also was excited to see that there were avocado smoothies on the menu...it's hard to find a good place to get avocado smoothies. Unfortunately, this place isn't one of them. I found their avocado smoothie to be a bit lacking in any sort of taste--it's pretty much just milky. The ice is also not well blended so you spend a bit of time biting/chewing on little ice bits. About the service...I think everyone was pretty friendly, which is what you like to see at restaurants. But one thing that I found weird was that when our waitress gave us the bill, we gave her our credit card, and she told us that we had to fill out all the tip information before she could enter it in. I found that strange--at literally every other restaurant I've been to, you charge the customer first on the card and then they fill out tip information later? Not sure what that all was about... Anyway, TL;DR: authentic-tasting pho restaurant that I would 100% eat at again, but would not reorder the avocado smoothie. read more

2 stars because the food is always delicious but I definitely recommend ordering takeout. You walk in and are handed a menu and told to seat yourself. I suggest sitting at the back of the restaurant because that's where the only server who actually attends his tables works. After waiting 25 mins for our pho we were ignored for the remainder of our meal. Had to waive down the busboy just to get water. We were repeatedly ignored and disregarded. Came here in the mood for some hot soup so decided on Pho 79 and asked for the Tai Chen (Brisket Pho) to go along with some shrimp shumai and fresh coconut for the drink. The Tai Chen was absolutely fantastic however you have to ask yourself how hungry are you when you ask in terms of size. I asked for medium soup and found it to be a lot. I left like maybe a 1/4 of the bowl but nonetheless fantastic. The shrimp shumai amazing. The fresh coconut absolutely bonkers. Love drinking pure coconut. This place has been on my list for a while and finally got to go during Sunday lunchtime. We ordered the bahn mi (pork) and Thai tea for take out. The staff was super friendly and helpful, even suggesting items from the menu. My bahn mi was perfect. Lots of meat, perfect size baguette, fresh veggies packed on the side so it wouldn't get mushy. My Thai tea seemed strong but once you mix it well was great. The location is big With plenty of seating for groups and The service was fast--we might have waited 10min tops. They are located at a shopping strip so I'm guessing parking might get dicey when lunch or dinner rush is on. Nevertheless, I can't wait to go back and try their pho! I love Pho 79 This place was recently renovated and new owners changed the menu and restaurant theme. With a new and fresh menu they have a little for everyone. Crispy spring rolls, soft shrimp dumplings or summer rolls... all great starters. My daughter had the Korean style ribs... they were more tangy salty than sweet and they come served alongside of white rice and sunny side up egg. (Very good). But the star is always the Pho. A rich broth that is clear but so flavorful, I had it with rare beef (traditional) but we also had the chicken pho. Vegetables were fresh... tons of basil, sprouts, jalapenos (optional) and the noodles soft and light. We ordered the Medium size bowl which is still HUGE. Service is on point. The new decoration of the restaurant makes it fresh and inviting. Some high top tables are available but mainly regular style seating. I wish them lots of success. read more

Twas a cold night in Miami, "Cold" lol. We'll have a different definition of cold but he was in the low 50s. That's cold for me. I'm generally not a soup person but when it's cold out side of soup always hits the spot. I hadn't had pho in so long so I thought well better night than tonight? This location is tucked away inside a strip mall in Pinecrest. It was almost full when I walked in but they are still observing the social distancing guidelines so you're not crammed up too close to the other patrons. The servers are wearing masks and gloves. The place was clean and nicely decorated. I felt pleased and comfortable to be there. For dinner I ordered the Chicken Pho soup (pho ga) and some vegetable spring rolls, which were amazing! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The soup gave me the warm and fuzzies I needed. If these cold keeps up I'll have to go back soon. :) read more

I choose the small size because it is reasonably priced and quite filing. Summer spring rolls are a must-have for appetizers, and the pork egg rolls were crunchy and tasty. Came to mis Saigon for my fave caramelized shrimp and found it had been sold and was now Pho 79. Figured what the heck let's try it out. It's the same layout but it's now a sleeker brighter , interior and frankly I like it better. The service was excellent nice and quick with good knowledge of the dishes. Heck our waiter is in law school at the U and wearing a UM cap so you know I love that. As to the food that was the star. We had the summer rolls (excellent), the rice noodles with pork and egg rolls (also excellent) and a wonderful shrimp and veggies with black bean sauce. I will always mourn the caramelized shrimp but this dish is right up there with that one. . all in all in many ways an upgrade over mis Saigon. I'll be back to this great addition to the dining scene in this busy mall. read more

The worst pho we have ever gone to. My husband ordered chicken noodle soup for takeout. The cashier lady was rude. The wait time was supposed to be 5-10 mins but ended up to 20 minutes. When he finally got the soup there was NO UTENSILS just chopsticks. The noodles was all stuck together in one huge piece. There was NO BOWL to mix it so he had to eat it all separately. The Pho Dac Biet consists of rare beef, beef brisket, beef flank, fatty flank, beef tendon, beef tripe, meatballs, and belly flank - heartwarming and delicious! Add some chili oil to add some spice to the pho! You can order 3 different sizes for the pho - small, medium, large. The small was more than enough for me.
