Recently went to Pho Kaholic this past week and wow what a delicious experience. I particularly appreciated that it's two spots in one allowing you to mix and match to your preferences. Now for the Pho I got the steak one and so glad we did a large because it was shared and the most perfect sizing. The broth was perfect for me I barely felt the need to add in extras for how much I enjoyed it. There was also a hefty serving of the meat which was terrific and not always common. The spring rolls were also refreshing and tasty love having that when an opportunity presents. And last my fiancé had eggs Benedict from the Sergio's place which was also lovely. As for the service we had such a nice waitress she recommended the most popular items and all and was sweet and attentive. In regards to the location it self very spacious large booths and they seem to move rather quick which is always appreciated if you're super hungry or rushed. It was very hard to find because it is a restaurant within a restaurant. The servers were a little bit rude and standoffish when you ask questions. i love a good soup place and this is one of my favorites. Very nice atmosphere, you walk in and it almost feels like you're intruding on this family haha that's how authentic it feels. the soup options are great, I usually go for the small soup pho and get 4 spring rolls because they are perfectly crunchy and delicious. the soup itself has a very delicious broth, i personally don't need to do much to it to make it taste just the way i like it, compared to other pho places where you might need to tweak it a little more. as for the service, both times i've been attended to by a very sweet lady who's name i cannot remember unfortunately , i went there once with my boyfriend who was a little sick and ended up staying in the car, and she spoke to me and even asked if he was okay love this little gem, i feel very blessed to have found it :) read more

It was a bit confusing at first. Saw the sign, walked in and it said take me to Walter's. So it turns out, this is two restaurant menus in one. Pho kaholic + Walter's. We went for the pho menu. The pho was too salty. The vermicelli noodles lacked herbs. It was just mint. There were more noodles than veggies which is a plus for some. The sauce for the vermicelli noodles isn't what I'm used to. I don't get the tangy vinegar. Not sure what's in here as it is a thicker sauce. Inside looks very nice though. There's a lot of patrons. Located inside Walter's Coffee Shop, Pho Kaholic is a Vietnamese restaurant that utilizes this space during the lunch/dinner times. The food is quite plentiful for the price, I got the pho dac biet and received so much tender meat! My mom got the bun thit nuong (BBQ pork) and it was quite flavorful. I actually liked her dish a lot more than the pho I ordered lol! The egg rolls we ordered are a little different than the Viet egg rolls I'm typically used to, they're skinnier and longer, and different egg roll wrappers were used - they're delicious nonetheless. Our waitress provided great service. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The restaurant is well kept, clean and spacious. This restaurant is a must-try! Their food is flavorful. Greeted right away by a friendly server. We ordered rice paper shrimp and pork rolls that were fresh and delicious. Served with sauce and chopped peanuts. Followed by Pho with chicken and Pho with rare beef and short ribs. The small bowl is more than enough. The Pho is served with bean sprouts, lime, jalapeños, Thai basil and culantro. Not what I expected. Two restaurants in one, Vietnam pho and american dinner. I got very confused with the two types of menu. Large bowl is more like a medium size compare to other pho restaurants. I was extremely disappointed to see, order and try the spring roll. Never again. Am an Asia food lover but this was not good at all for Pho. Kinda sad that Walter's has now closed but has renewed into a fun and chic pho restaurant. Love the location because it's right off US1 and easy to see. The service was good. they're still getting the kinks and workers back in order but knowing the owner and he's the best. The food was great and from the pictures you can tell it was well worth it. Unfortunately, I ve had a couple of issues back to back with my meals here and will not be going back. Which is unfortunate because it's next to my house. 1. Slightly Pricier than its competitors with average quality food. 2. Staff do not do well with request or simple modifications to an order. 3. They are perfectly fine serving skimpy portions on to go or orders. $30 for a "large bowl" of flavored water, and some meat chunks. read more

I have bopped around the world a couple times already, been the Vietnam fell in love with the food out there. Was in Duluth Georgia and would always chow down in the tiny little shop out there to get my pho fix. I am not gonna lie, I was very skeptical of a pho joint here in cutler Bay Area. I mean, Walter's is where you go for some bitching grinds for breakfast, omelettes? Yes please. I decided to take a chance a push aside my preconceived notion that this is gonna be "mid". Friends and neighbors.....listen up, this place is fantastic! I devoured the grilled pork rolls with a hand around my plate after the first bit to keep any potential theft of my tasty treat. Then came the special combo pho I believe it's the a P.1 in the menu. It came rolling steaming and oooooooo buddy you know I was huffing that bad boy to get the full experience. First tentative bite had me dreaming of Saigon already, I was about to go find me some bai hoi(cheapest beer in the world but oh so tasty to complete it) now I am actually writing the review as I slurp away....nom nom nom indeed! Honestly, the pho broth is the best I've had- did not need any hoisin sauce fish sauce AT ALL. Super flavorful. The meat was average but very tasty nonetheless, tendon is my fav so I'm probably bias. THE VIETNAMESE COFFEE THO?!?... crave-able Spring roll is home made, I highly recommend. Summer roll with the transparent rice paper was ok the sauce was fire. Good pho is hard to find in Miami, and the search will continue after trying it here. Housed inside an old school like diner, the concept is a neat idea. However execution leaves a lot to be desired. The pho lacks flavor, and more over, it lacks depth. Noodles were a bit over cooked as well. These characteristics were also present in the bun Bo hue. While we were hopeful going in, it makes sense that the pho here is sub par. It's hard to execute pho if that's all you're trying to do, but to add the stress of handling a full American size diner menu is too much for any kitchen team. Service bumps this up to two stars, it was very attentive and extremely friendly. Which can also be rare in south Florida. read more

We started with the spicy beef jerky papaya salad (A.7) - fresh, thinly julienned green papaya, with mint and basil, finished with a sweet and sticky fish sauce and thin strips of spicy jerky. We also had the grilled pork rolls (A.3) - light and fresh. Then, we had bun - vermicelli noodles topped with tender bbq pork and shrimp on one (S.6), and thin and crispy pork & veggie egg rolls (S.1) on the other. And, beneath the noodles were tons of fresh basil, mint and veggies; served with their house made noc cham and hot sauce - it was perfection. Phokaholic is a gem hidden in plain sight. Disappointed. I was really looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant in our area. First, it's not really a restaurant. It's a section of a diner at lunch. They give you both menus when you are seated. It was extremely loud, crowded and understaffed. Table was full of all the stuff you needed for breakfast as well as the traditional Vietnamese tools. A bottle of Hoisin and a thing of strawberry jelly, for example. It did appear all that clean either. Food was mediocre at best. Egg rolls were not much more than the diameter of a cigar. Spring rolls had noodles, meat and lettuce only and were mostly noodles. Pickled vegetables were thin. Sauce was extra salty. On a positive note, the soup broth was flavorful and the vegetable garnish was fresh. i would not recommend. read more
