Thank you Yelp for helping me find this place! It is out of the way tucked into a little strip mall area-off the main drag so easy to find parking. It is also attached to an International Food Store. We arrived right at opening time so we're first ones here. The owner waited on us until the waitresses arrived. It was quiet but started to get more customers. There were about 16 more customers that came in behind us and one pick up and they kept coming as we were leaving We started with Thai tea which came already mixed (usually Thai tea comes with tea on the bottom and the condensed milk on top and you need to stir it before drinking). It was delicious. Then our apps of the combo which included a shrimp spring roll and two small egg rolls. Both were tasty. Our Pho was the brisket and meatballs and curry noodle. Both were delicious. We eat a lot of Thai foods and have been to a couple of Vietnamese restaurants and haven't had Pho but a couple times so hard to compare but we enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back when in the area. A few years ago, the beloved Pho 76 went under new ownership and the rumors flew that the quality of food went down. I avoided this establishment like COVID, until I was in the area and was hankering a Banh Mi sandwich. The place I normally purchase the sandwiches from was closed due to the long holiday weekend. So I held my breath and took a dive. First off, they painted the walls in such an uninviting color. It was dark. I didn't pay attention because as I walked in, I felt all the eyes who visited the establishment on me as I crossed the dining hall to order "to go." Two banh mi sandwiches and their combo appetizer: two fried egg rolls and a spring roll. The lady behind the counter informed me it would take 30 minutes. Really? I thought to myself but agreed because I would take my time to wander around in the grocery store next door. 25 minutes goes by. My husband goes to check on our order. The lady said they haven't even started on our order. 15 minutes later and we FINALLY get our order. I don't mind waiting for great food however the banh mi bread was stale, the pickled veggies and meat were tasteless, and the ratio of filling to bread, oh man. I couldn't get past the overcooked noodles to the spring roll and lack of veggies. The only edible item were the egg rolls. I can order those again, if I ever return. So disappointed. read more

This place is in the far left corner of a tiny Asian shopping center. I almost missed it because I didn't see it that well from the street. I really wanted to try their pho since they mainly had pho dishes but I had a meeting to run to after, and I have a tendency to spill pho and smell like it afterwards so I went with the safer bet of a vermicelli bowl. I normally also get grilled pork but the server recommended the beef version. I was pleasantly surprised how good the beef was! There were all good pieces of meat. Dropped by for lunch as I'm always on the lookout for great Pho, and Pho 76 delivered! I was encouraged when I saw the restaurant is next door to an Asian grocery. I was more encouraged when the place was full, and the lunch crowd included many for whom this cuisine is theirs. The spring rolls were unremarkable and the peanut sauce too thin, but the pho combo (#1) was superb. I'd say the medium size is enough for hearty appetites like mine. Went here for lunch on a Saturday and were very surprised to see that there was a crowd at around 2 in the afternoon. They managed to keep steady business the whole while that we were there. The staff was super friendly, although it seemed like they could have used a few more people working. I asked for suggestions for food and input was very helpful and exactly what I wanted. We ordered the shrimp vermicelli, the beef vermicelli, the curry, and spring rolls. The spring rolls were pretty good, especially with the sauce provided, although I would appreciate if there was a vegetarian option for these. The curry is definitely more of a soup than a curry, but still very flavorful. The vermicelli dishes were both quite tasty. I appreciated that I could get the special sauce on the side so that I could choose how much that I wanted to add. I will also note that the shrimp were done perfect, nice grill marks and loaded with flavor. All of the food was also very reasonable, needless to say, we will be back to try more options, especially the pho. Although from looking at other tables, it appears the best way to order this is with a group. Its all a lot of food! I would definitely recommend this place especially because its next to a pretty good grocery store as well. In fact we recommended it as a place to eat for guests who are in town for our wedding. When you're out in Yonkers parts of Midwest like Wisconsin you gotta stop by a Vietnamese pho place. Why do you ask? Because the pho will be freaking awesome! It was and compare to the prices we pay in Chicago and greater parts of Chicago burbs it's so much cheaper. I think a bowl of pho is $7.50 here. They also have extra small for kids and extra large for adults. Rice bowl was good but I felt the beef was just a little too chewy for me. But overall a good down home cooking Vietnamese restaurant that also has some Lao cuisines too. They are also connected to an Asian grocery store so that was fun to visit too after we had lunch. Believe it or not, this was my first time having Pho. When I got my order I quickly googled how to eat it, and was well in on way to a (underscore) DELICIOUS meal. Wow. With new management comes undesired changes. Things have already been going downhill for awhile now, but seems to have gotten worse. One reason I always returned was because of the consistency of food. The last few visits have really been a disappointment. Sure, the foods still good, but it's not the same. The egg rolls have been reduced to half the size they used to be. The sauce for the egg rolls has changed a bit. The pho seems to have less meat now. The last time I ordered the pork vermicelli I noticed the pork wasn't the same. It was dry and unflavorful. The veggies were a bit different too. This restaurant is a hidden gem, central Wisconsin wise. The pho here is absolutely delicious, and the portions are huge. I got the #1, beef pho with all the mixings, save tendon. I'd never had tripe until then so I figured including that was adventurous enough for the time being. I ordered a large, and as a large man who is used to finishing any portion laid in front of him, I was astonished by the portion size. It was a pain inducing amount of delicious, delicious soup. It's a shame that several of the leading pics on this site for pho 76 are deliberately negative, and from a single user. The inside is simplistic, almost cafeteria like, but the food is top notch for around here and the place isn't as dirty as you might be led to believe. in fact, it was cleaner than most local diners. I travel around for work and I was looking for some good authentic pho. Only problem was... Where was I going to get it in Wausau, Wisconsin? I looked up reviews and Pho 76 was pretty much the only place that showed up. My host at the Rosenberry Inn said that this place was amazing and offered me a ride because parking is hard to find. I was pleasantly surprised by the food! The interior is subpar compared to other restaurants, but it's a hole-in-the-wall establishment. It's connected to a grocery store which was kind of odd to me, but I really went for the food. I ordered a combo appetizer which included a spring roll and two egg rolls ($3.75) and a large steak pho. I don't remember exactly how much the steak pho was but I know my overall total was under $12. Overall, the food was amazing. The spring roll was fresh and surprisingly huge for one serving. The egg rolls were crisped to perfection. The pho broth was flavorful and it came with an abundance of meat and noodles. I honestly had a hard time finishing it because there was so much. I haven't had pho since I lived in Minneapolis. And that was only once, and it was to-go so who knows if I prepared it right. A co-worker and I stopped by Pho 76 tonight while on break from work. My friend/co-worker doesn't know that I was actually enrolled in the Culinary Art of America in Hyde Park, New York prior to becoming a law enforcement officer again. So, he told me all about pho, and I listened as if it were for the first time. I didn't correct his pronunciation of pho as that is unimportant. Anyway, I ordered the #1 pho, as well as the appetizer combo which consisted of 2 egg rolls and one spring roll. Those were great. Love the peanut sauces. So, the pho arrived. Bliss ensued. I don't always eat all the tendon and tripe but oh my god. The broth. I debated taking it with me. Hot pho potentially driving at very high speeds resulting in a crash would be a waste of pho. I will definitely be coming back for more. The restaurant is part of an Asian food store, but I was working, and wanted pho. I go pho. Who cares. Some reviews stated the wait staff was rude. I did not find that to be the case. The staff was great - but maybe that's because I was in uniform. Who knows. Loved it. New to this part of the country and was super stoked to find this place five minutes down the road. Leaving the city and having a choice of lots of Pho spots, we've been a little spoiled. Happy to summarize that this place was pretty dang good. Had the large special beef pho, eye of round steak pho, and the spring and pork rolls. The pho was good, not a crazy amount of flavor in the broth, but good nonetheless and a hearty portion. The pork rolls were fantastic! Will definitely get multiple orders of those next time. Self seating, very family business type atmosphere - nothing fancy. OK service, seemed slow at cleaning tables. Was greeted as we sat, but had to ask for menu. Saw that some other customers were waiting to be seated and was not acknowledged right away. Our order- Seafood noodle Pho - Xtra small size, however, it was good sized portion and tasty broth. Vermicelli noodle with grilled pork and shrimp combo - delicious. Fresh vegetables, and spring rolls - delicious. Shrimp roll (spring roll) - good and even the dipping peanut sauce was great.
