Get the Bo Tai Chanh. It isn't Pho, but its my go to. Citrus beef, cucumbers, sprouts, tomatos, cilantro perfection. We tried the quail as a starter as well but probably won't get it again. This place is OK. Food quality was OK. Pho tasted like pho, but it wasn't as fragrant as I prefer with notes of anise and toasted ginger. The place wasn't the cleanest place I've eaten at, but it's not the dirtiest place either. They could pay more attention to cleanliness though. The service was OK. Delicious. I've never had Pho before, but I am definitely going to be making a lifestyle change. I had Pho with the beef slices. My only recommendation for anyone who likes a hearty soup or is one to steal all the goodies in the soup would be to order extra meat. Otherwise I can't imagine that it gets any better than this. I'm no expert in the Vietnamese and Thai food arenas, but this seems solid. On my last visit, I had the Bo Tai Chanh - onion, scallion, tomato, cucumber, cilantro, deep fried onions, bean sprouts, and chili pepper seasoned with a sweet and sour fish sauce and served with steamed rice. Delicious. It was light and refreshing and I was stuffed about a third of the way through the dish. I truly recommend it. The restaurant itself is very cafeteria style and sparse. You're not going here for the atmosphere. It's all about the food. read more

Authentic Vietnamese food that was so good I as able to open my in laws up to food beyond american food. Pho noodle soup warmed my bones on a cloudy afternoon. Chicken wings were well seasoned and extremely hot. + a side of dumplin sauce for the shrimp and chicken spring rolls. My wife enjoyed the curry tofu with a side of white rice. Formerly known as Noodle Star, this place is one of my favorite spots in the city. A Stellar mom & pop place with no frills decor-wise... They focus on delivery delicious fresh food at fair prices. While the Pho was some of, if not the best I've had... The curries might be the gem of this spot. The yellow curry chicken soup is amazing. The red curry whitefish is amazing. If you're a drunken noodle fan, dive right in. The only thing that I've had that wasn't head and shoulders above anything else I've had locally were the dumplings. I keep forgetting this place is just around the corning from work. I visited this place when it was known as Noodle Star (sign still up), which I think the same owners are here and not much has changed that I can tell, except the name. This place is great. I have had the drunken noodles both times I believe and the flavor is great and the traditional sauce is light and not as greasy as some other places. The owners are extremely nice, welcoming and accommodating. They have a great variety of Thai and Vietnamese dishes. You will not be disappointed and I will be visiting this place more often. read more

Being Midtowners my Charming Companion and I were on the area and needed to eat. Boom! out comes the Yelp app because we couldn't remember the name of the restaurant. Love! Someday I'll order something besides the Drunken Noodle but yesterday wasn't it. So much better than the local place on S. Cooper which I will not name. This restaurant is very simple, however the food is very flavorful and fulfilling. Everything I have ordered has been very delicious, and presented with the utmost respect. The family friendly atmosphere is nice and the selection of entrees and appetizers are abundant. I've tried the lemongrass tofu, sweet and sour shrimp (not battered but nicely stir fried with vegetables) and my favorite dish so far is the curry soup with lots of potatoes and bell peppers. The vegetable spring rolls are really good too. The staff is quiet but there if you need anything. They also have a television. This was just an "ok" Pho place. Ordered the chicken, the chicken was thick and without much taste. Broth was mediocre. It came with bean sprouts, but didn't come with basil or cilantro. When we initially walked in, one of the workers, a lady was sitting behind a counter, looked at us, then looked away. One man was serving and hustling and she didn't even bother coming out. I had to go get the menu from the register area. The man was hustling by cleaning up tables and bringing food, barely had anything to say. This place is Great, I wasn't in the mood for pho unlike my husband who could eat it every day, so I got the vermicelli and I am in LOVE!!! I ordered pho and the calamari appetizer. The pho came out way before the appetizer. However when the calamari came out it was hot and tasted good especially paired with the ginger and onion. The pho was pretty good not anything extraordinary but good nonetheless. I would definitely eat here again. The service was okay at best. My drink was only refilled once. But if you like to eat without being bothered this place is for you. The ambiance of the restaurant would be about what you would expect from a hole in the wall. read more

Atmosphere is rather stark and somewhat offputting, and service, although fast, isn't very friendly (with the exception of a SUPER sweet older man), however the food more than makes up for it! This is cheap Viet/Thai food, located next to a Taekwondo dojo, thus having a built-in source of revenue from hungry kids and their parents. I suspect the source of high marks is based on cheap, filling food that's different from McDonalds. Ate here twice. First time had Panang curry which was ok. This time decided to have the house specialty, pho with beef ball and sliced beef. It is the typical ginormous bowl that no one except a nose tackle can finish. You know you're in trouble when there's no basil. Skimping on basil's a bad sign. The beef was decent, the broth not rich like the AAA versions, but OK. Also ordered fried potstickers, mistake. Overcooked. Overall not a disaster, but not coming a third time, either. If you do, I would stay with the curry. Pho without basil just ain't right. read more
