I just had to stop in, as the reviews that I read for this place were very positive! I was also in the mood for a authentic banh mi sandwich. The ones that I've had the past few years (in NY, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Charleston and Miami have been lacking for sure and not authentic. Usually made like a Subway sandwich, using a few strands of cilantro and some sliced chili peppers and calling it a banh mi! As a frequent traveler to Ho Chi Minh, I've come to love Vietnamese food, with a banh mi as one of my go to items whenever I visit. Due to the pandemic, my company has restricted our travel there until things normalize to their liking. This has given me a craving for one of my favorite dishes, one that I haven't been able to find. Let's rephrase that, I haven't been able to eat a truly tasty, delicious and authentic banh mi.......that is until today! Nothing will truly be exactly like the banh mi in Vietnam, but the one I had today was damn close! It had a nicely baked French baguette (crisp crust with a tender moist center), homemade pork pate and mayo, ham and head cheese cold cuts, Vietnamese carrot salad, sliced chili peppers and fish sauce......wow!! I think it was only missing the dried shredded pork! It was the closest to the original that I've had (including the banh mi that I've had in LA too. Probably haven't gone to the right place.....gotta go to Westminster or 'Lil Saigon'). In any case, I was quite impressed and even went and bought another sandwich for later. I can't wait to go back and try the pho and bum thit too! If it's even close to the banh mi sandwich, I'll be in heaven. On top of the food, the restaurant itself is clean, casual and has very nice and hospitable people working here. They seem like they're family, all friendly, with warm smiles! They also offer a few other options for the banh mi (vegetarian version, chicken and another pork version). I'll definitely be back and will spread the word! The pho was tasty and included a good variety of vegetables inside, the portion size was perfect. However, it did not come with a lot of toppings. The small plate of bean sprouts and herbs (in my photo) is what they brought us for two people. Also I think the air may have been broken when I went because it was quite hot inside. read more

Authentic Vietnamese cruise, food comes out in less than 10 EVERY TIME, the fried shrimp are bomb really wish they came with more their so addicting especially with the sauce it comes with. Service can be a bit better I feel sometimes I have to go get up to get someone's attention but that's fine I'll always come back here. I am so happy to find a Vietnamese restaurant in Hollywood Hills! I work in Hollywood so I decided to try lunch. I was able to order online and drove to the restaurant to pick up. The restaurant is small and very clean. There are a few tables outside as well. I was pleasantly surprised at all the to go orders I saw as I waited about 3 min for my order. I ordered the Lemongrass Pork (Bun Thit Nuong) and iced green tea. This dish has rice vermicelli noodles, spring mix, cucumber, pickled carrot and daikon, fried shallot, roasted and crushed peanuts and fish sauce. It even came with one (huge) fried spring roll. Everything was so fresh and the flavor was on point. I had heard many great things about this restaurant and everything I heard was correct. I loved my lunch so much I tried it again the next day. This time I had Pork (Thịt Heo) banh mi'. It came on a French style baguette with house made pate, mayonnaise cilantro cucumber, jalapeno, and pickled cucumber. I don't know how I've missed this restaurant before since it's close to the Joann fabrics in Hollywood that I regularly visit. I am always looking for a place with great Pho & Banh mi. The restaurant is pretty tiny, it has maybe 8 tables & both times that I've been there I am one of 2 or 3 people there. This restaurant doesn't have many frills but it looks clean. I decided to try the shrimp summer rolls, the pork Banh Mi, and a classic Pho with raw beef on the side. The Summer Rolls were the absolute best I've ever had. The shrimp & pork tasted fresh. They add some fresh Thai Basil which really gives it a nice freshness. The Banh Mi was ommmggggg....once again, the best! The pork is soooo flavorful , they use real french bread and fresh ingredients. I was really in shock that it was soooo good!. I was trying not to get too full before my Pho came so I only ate half and saved the rest for the next day. The next day I toasted the bread and it was somehow even better than the day before!! This place is close to my job so naturally I stumbled upon it. Came here on a Thursday afternoon around 1:45 and I had the whole place to myself, being that it's still pretty new. Place looked very tidy and they had vietnamese soft R&B songs playing in the background which was cool and different. I ordered the Vermicelli Bowl with the Lemongrass pork and the Japanese Iced Green tea. Pork was steaming hot with lots of flavor and it sat on a bed of rice vermicelli noodles accompanied with a pickled carrots and cucumbers and finally a spring roll on the side. Also came with a fish sauce and crumbled up peanuts. The bowl was perfect, left me satisfied but not too full. The green tea was refreshing and not too sweet. Wow. I have made a severe mistake in discovering this place. It's only a few minutes from me (humble brag) but I can tell their food travels well regardless. I ordered their chicken vermicelli bowl, fire cracker shrimp & my brother ordered their rice entree with lemongrass pork chop. To put it plainly, we ate in total silence IT WAS SO GOOD. No time for words. Haha The fire cracker shrimp was perfectly fried & the aioli was a perfect to dip for it. Not spicy at all though, I didn't mind I just don't know if maybe it was supposed to be spicy due to the name. I wouldn't change the dish or the sauce though, people who are sensitive to spice could also enjoy this dish & those who prefer it could just add some spicy on their own. The vermicelli bowl comes on top of mixed greens, has some chopped carrots & cucumbers & brings one spring roll. The portion was generous and the flavor combination was EVERYTHING. The sweetness of the chicken mixed with the freshness of the veggies all tied together with the texture of vermicelli noodles?! It was everything you could want in one dish. I only tried a bite of the lemongrass pork chop & it was delicious. Once again, my brother & I ate in silence but by the look of his completely empty plate I can tell his was delicious too haha I grabbed a Thai tea boba because I couldn't resist.
