I'm in the neighboring city Montebello and boy am I glad a authentic vietnamese owned establishment is in the near by area. The soup color was there, first taste test pass, meat quality checked also. Delicious authentic pho soup. You know its real when you can choose your kinds of meat in there. I went #6 beef Plenty of seating for families and small groups, they have a huge TV in there also. People eat rather quickly since its delicious. I didn't realize its another brand of the main store La Mirada, I've been there several times and that spot is very busy. I couldn't help but listening to a new customer ask for corn and a vegetable option, the definition of pho is bone broth so if you are a vegetarian this might not be the place for you. For dinner, we were looking for noodles...and chose Pho. Saw this place had good reviews and was locally owned (always love supporting family business). We went for dinner around 8:30pm, and the brightly lit inside along with the large green sign make this place hard to miss. It's located down Whittier Blvd, in the large parking lot with other businesses like Superior Grocers, Burlington Coat Factory, and In & Out (if you need landmark reference). They also had a Grand Opening banner out but that was in Jan of this year. At the time we went there were only a few other diners so it was pretty empty. You seat yourself where ever there is open seating. There are also 2 gender neutral restrooms in the back. The menu is pretty standard for Pho places, with your traditional soup pho, vermicelli, stir-fried, and rice dishes. We ordered a 4-piece spring roll and the #1 combo pho (rare steak, well-done flank, brisket, tendon, and tripe). Previous reviews saying the portions are generous, is accurate. The spring rolls were large and cut in half, we could have easily been satisfied with just the 2-piece as I'm used to them being smaller. Now the Pho...at most other places this size would have been considered a large portion. Broth was flavorful, salty with the slight sweetness. Plenty of noodles (I almost didn't finish) and large cuts of the proteins. My bf and I ended up taking our broths home as well as the spring rolls. Everything was delicious as was definitely worth the price for the amount of food served. Service was quick and all the servers were attentive to each of the tables and kind. One of them had thanked us for coming in that evening. I feel like this place has made a name for itself, as literally the last hour to 45 minutes people started just flowing in. It went from empty to busy in the span of our time dining, which I love to see in a restaurant. This pho spot was really solid! After an engagement party, my girlfriend and I came here before closing. Staff was really on it and was checking up on us a bunch. The inside felt really new and modern too. We sat at a booth and enjoyed a bowl of pho each and springs rolls. Spring rolls were really big and the peanut sauce was great. Had a good amount of sweetness to it. The pho was also good, the broth was solid but I didn't like the meat too much. I got the pho tai (rare steak) and it had a lot of yellow fat flaking off of it. I'm not used to that and haven't been to any pho spots that had so much yellow on it. I looked it up and its normal but I've been to plenty of authentic spots without that. This location is pretty big has so many tables. Super friendly customer service and they helped us right away. I got the Pho tai nam (rare steak and well done flank). The portion was really big I was not able to finish it. As for the flavor I felt like it was missing something. Usually the broth has so much flavor but for this one I had to add sauce to make it better. We also go the order of the egg rolls. They were okay not my favorite. A couple of buddies at work were raving about a new pho spot near our job, so who am I to say no to a good recommendation? Right when you walk in, the place is super clean and surprisingly pretty busy for a Wednesday, which is always a good sign. The staff was great--everyone was greeted like a regular the moment they walked in. Annie, our server, was extremely attentive and made several solid recommendations that did not disappoint. The food was amazing. The broth was spot on, the noodles were fresh, and the meat was perfectly tender. My wife ordered the #27, and it was packed with flavor with incredibly tender meat. Terrible service -- apparently ordering food was an impossible task. I came here last night more than an hour before closing, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. There were maybe two other tables at most, yet somehow we still waited over 15 minutes without anyone coming to take our order. What made it even more ridiculous was watching a family come in after us and get their order taken before we did. Eventually, I had to physically get up and go to the counter myself just to try to order. At that point, I decided it honestly wasn't worth it and just left. And apparently, we weren't the only ones. Another table also had to get up and go ask to place their order, so I can only assume they had been waiting just as long. When multiple customers have to leave their tables and hunt someone down just to order, that says a lot about the service. Meanwhile, the two lady servers were mostly standing around talking, trying to look busy, while another employee was just standing there as well. Again, this wasn't a packed restaurant or a crazy busy night -- there were only a couple of tables. This was already my second disappointing experience at this location, and what really made it worse was that there didn't seem to be any sense of urgency or concern from the staff. Nobody seemed to care that customers were waiting or that people were having to get up just to get someone's attention. At this point, I'll stick with the Garden Grove location. I've had much better experiences there. If you're going to make customers wait 15+ minutes just to take an order when the restaurant is practically empty, maybe the problem isn't that you're "busy." read more

I had a very disappointing experience with my to-go order from Pho 45. I called ahead because I had a shuttle to catch for an event, and the order was repeated twice over the phone to confirm it. When I arrived, I discovered that instead of the 4 sandwiches I ordered, only 1 had been prepared. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging the mistake, the employee insisted she had not taken the order incorrectly and told me I would need to wait another 15 to 20 minutes while she checked with the kitchen. At that point, I could not wait because I had planned ahead specifically by calling in the order. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability, apology, and customer service was extremely disappointing. My dinner plans were ruined, and I left feeling dismissed rather than helped. I hope the restaurant improves how it handles order errors and trains staff to respond with more professionalism and courtesy. The food is great by the way but the service was lacking today. And the audacity to say I was wrong and instead of making 3 more sandwiches and having a happy customer she was gonna make me wait another 15-20 min. Smh... read more
