July, 7, 2019 I went there with friends for dinner tonight. When I go there its pack, it's small and noisy place. We had tried... Beef carpaccio... the sauce is tasteless, didn't thin cut and put it on plate nicely.. its look messy.. it's taste like sliced raw beef on water down vinegar sauce 2 orderes of Lemongrass chicken and spring roll on rice vermicelli in bowl... omg.. its tasteless, they gave us disposable chopsticks, didnt give me fork and knife.. I need to use chopstick to cut my chicken into pieces.. I can't even taste any lemongrass at all..  chicken skin was not even crispy... extremely disappointed.. I saw yelp member gave them 4+ points.. the spring roll was soft and not crispy at all.. I can find uncooked rice vermicelli inside the spring rolls.. I need to put half bottle of fish sauce and hoisin sauce inside the noodles.. 2 House special noodles in soup... soup base was tasteless,  not much ingredient inside 2 bowls of Pork feet noodles in soup... my friend can't even find any pork feet inside..  just few slices of cooked beef inside in pork bone soup base. Ice coffee.. they dont give you enough condense milk.. we need to ask more for it.. but we need to ask for 4 times to get it. Before we asked for 5 people.. we asked for 1 more seats after 5 minutes.. the waitress was black face, dont feel like to help us to move the table for us, because the table was too heavy for us to move it.. Services and food quality are bad... made me and 2 of my friends got stomachache afterwards.. It's only big portion and cheap, nothing else.. 1 waitress + 3 waiters to serve 12 small tables, still slow services,  no spoon and ice whenever they served 4 glasses of ice coffee. No fork and knife for serving lemongrass chicken on rice vermicelli. We asked for 4 glasses of ice for our coffee,  they gave us 4 glasses of ice water?! @_@ We paid $112 + $18 tips.. because we won't go there again. read more

Whenever the word Pho comes up. Most people will pronounce it as it is spelled. Whenever we bring my aunt to a Pho restaurant, that topic always comes up. Like the character Cliff Clavin, happy go lucky patron of the bar called Cheers from the TV show of the same name. My aunt will correct us in our pronunciation of the word Pho (Fah). It's always funny when she brings it up, never missing a beat. OK enough of that pho correctness. We're here to eat good food. and as you can see Pho 37 has all the right things in all the right places. The staff are friendly and the service is prompt, and they never make you feel like you have to leave. The kitchen is clean and I think they run a pretty tight ship. Operationally they're very well set up. The food is on par with all of that. Good clean tasting soup broths and fresh veggies and spicy chilies. No wonder this place is always packing during lunch. Even on a weekend when all the office workers have gone, they still serve the local community which keeps them busy. I had the combo plate. Can't remember which one because I'm always changing them up. The fact is, I can like anything on this menu and so switching things up is never a problem. I'll always like what I get. I can't say that about all Vietnamese places. My brother had his bowl of basic Pho soup and Mom had the predictable chow mein noodle dish with pork. She didn't like the noodles very much. "Too chewy" she said, "kinda starchy" she said, "too much sauce" she said. But she ate most of it and the pork slices were delicious. I tried some myself. I guess she didn't realize that the noodles here would be different than served in a traditional Cantonese restaurant. My brother, he loves Vietnamese food. In fact he says that the food you get in Vietnam can't compare to what's offered in Canada. Hmmmmmm we're missing something here then. Kinda like how people think Japanese food is only sushi and ramen.... hmmmmmmm.... 4 stars, here because I have always had good fortune eating here. I really should dine here more often. Out of the two Vietnamese places in this half mile radius. I prefer this to the other for my everyday dining experience. Not that the other is a slouch, they're really good too. Just I like the flavours a teensy bit more here. Then again, it's my tastebuds directing this review so your experience might be different. Here's a Yelp tip. If you happen to like certain reviewers (especially Elites) and have similar tastes, this can help guide you in regards to finding places you might enjoy. My taste buds are eccentric and crazy. I rave about this place non stop 24/7. Anyone who knows me knows their house special (Tuans special) is *chefs kiss*. I dream of this dish sometimes because their garlic broth and blackened beef is no joke. The egg yolk on tops also adds soooooo much more dimension. Their other dishes are good too, don't get me wrong, and everything is quite affordable. We started off with the shrimp salad rolls. Shrimp was really small so you can't taste much of it but it wasn't that bad. Although, we had been starving so the review might be a little biased. The salad roll came with a generic peanut sauce. I tried the hue soup - it was very sweet than spicy. But overall the noodles were cooked just right and there were a lot of meat. A LOT. We also tried the House special soup. The broth is very meaty flavoured. Again, lots of meat and good noodles. My wife is Vietnamese and this is her favourite place in all of the Lower Mainland because the pho broth is well flavoured and they use a lot less msg than most pho places. I had the House Special pho and it is a good portion for $10.95. No complaints . There Bun Bo Hue is also very good read more

Nothing beats a bowl of pho on a cold and raining day. We got attracted to this place by its high rate on Yelp and glad to know by the time we entered that it's MSG free. The place was still packed at 2pm on a Saturday and we had to wait for about 5mins before getting seated. We got served with tea right away and the food got delivered within 10min after ordering. We had #11 beef noodle with varieties of meats and #38 shaking beef, both delicious. The shaking beef is a bit hard as it came with cubes instead of slices but taste great nonetheless. It also came with a small bowl of soup and you can choose to go with rice or vermicelli. I also saw beef carpaccio on the menu and saw the table next to us having it, looked great for $13.50. #40 Pho Tuan 11.25 If you know you know how delicious this torched beef pho is. It has a nice smoky taste to it making a much richer taste. I don't know what theyre doing but they're definitely doing something right. There's hints of garlic and ginger and a bit of everything like grilled beef slices, beef balls, brisket and tendon. Out near steveston, I had heard about this pho place being a bit different and I'm glad I decided to come out and try this place! Their number 40 special beef noodle soup really is one of the most interesting and tasty noodle soups i have tried at a vietnamese place! It comes with many different meats and topped with an egg while the broth itself is hearty, extremely beefy in flavour and a bit more viscous that regular without being too salty. It was quite a large portion as well! Also tried out their sample platter that came with a little bit of everything including spring roll, salad roll, brochette, sugar cane shrimp, ribs and vermicelli. This was not a huge portion but each item was done well and the opportunity for variety is always appreciated! The service was also extremely courteous the entire lunch and the food was both tasty, of good quality and different enough that it made an impression. Overall, really quite far to travel for pho and a little bit higher in price, but definitely worth trying if in the area! read more

A friend recommended I try the Sate Pho here so I gave Pho 37 a shot. We ordered the spring rolls, pho dac biet, and sate peanut noodle with beef. Both noodles came fairly quickly (within 10 minutes of ordering) but the spring rolls took almost half an hour as the staff likely forgot. I felt their pho broth was a bit salty but also lacking in flavour. The meat quality is decent with the pho dac biet though. With the sate peanut soup, I definitely feel it could use a bit more spice/kick, but the milder flavour may have been a safer choice. The spring rolls were just average, not worth the $8 or 30 minute wait. The table behind us had ordered the spring rolls as well and simply didn't get them and had to make a fuss about taking it off the bill. Sloppy service in that regard but treat it as fast food and it's reasonable. For those of us used to east Vancouver pho joints, I feel the prices are on the higher side at pho 37 and the flavour is a bit lacking. read more

Nothing exemplary here. It's a safe bet if you want Pho. Prices a little inflated due to the rent charged in the plaza. Broth is average, not outstanding and not AS authentic as in Vietnam but it's ok and fresh. The seats and tables are very close together with your neighbours. The Pho and combo plates are their popular dishes. Don't order chow mein or curry dishes. The fried noodle dish is pricey and small. The curry is very watery. It's essentially curry soup. Most customers at the time of visit were not Asian with the exception of Filipinos. Like Danny's next door, mostly Caucasians were here. The billing system is odd. They won't bring your bill to you. You pay up front and it's not itemized. It's one amount after tax. You'll need to calculate your bill while looking at the menu and save the result. Overall, a solid 3.5 stars. As always, be very skeptical anytime anyone leaves a glowing positive review especially without any negatives mentioned. read more

Out of all the pho restaurants in Richmond, Pho 37 is one place that I don't remind returning to. The quality is consistent, the flavors are clean, and the portions are more than generous. The beef broth is claimed to contain no MSG, and I believe that. It's low sodium, not too spicy, and tastes clean. There's an option to dress up the broth with roasted chili oil or fish sauce but I don't think it's necessary. I've also tried the Pho Tuan, which is essentially a contemporary version of the Saigon beef pho, with a quail egg added, and enhanced flavor in the broth from the addition of roasted garlic and ginger. I would recommend it only if you like roasted flavor profile in the broth. The bowl included Vietnamese beef balls (bo vien), which were springy and stretchy, it was my favorite topping. Other bowls which I tried include the Bun Bo Hue and the Bun Cha Ca, which were both just OK. The broth for both bowls were very light, slightly pungent, and for the most part tasted natural. The ingredients weren't always the most traditional, but they're fresh, and it's not too bad considering Pho 37 focuses on Saigon dishes. The herb plate was quite meager though, only sprouts and basil, no sawtooth leaf here. I'm guessing customers don't utilize their plate enough, and because of that, the restaurant decided to reduce the portion. I can see why Pho 37 is a go-to restaurant for my coworkers when they can't decide on where to have lunch. It's solid, consistently dependable, and they offer 10% off on Mondays. read more

Great Vietnamese to eat at if your in the area, the food here is fresh and exactly what you order. I ordered combo 13, lemongrass chicken with spring rolls and a salad roll; just let me say delicious. I must admit that I was a little confused when I didn't see them bring me fish sauce in a small bowl when he was bringing me my sauces, but it wasn't until I started the meal that I noticed the large bottle of fish sauce already at the table; oh what a treat unlimited fish sauce. The service here is great, very attentive staff. I can see why people were on a consistent basis coming in and out of the restaurant at a steady flow. After many I DONT KNOWS and YOU PICK! The hubs and I decided to visit Pho 37. This place didn't look like much from outside but the decor inside was better than most places. Also, they had cute mini koi pond at the front hehe. Hubs got #40 Special soup and I got #11 beef noodle soup. We also got a salad roll and spring roll. The special soup had kind of like a smoky taste too it that I didn't care for too much. Poached egg was a nice addition though! The beef noodle soup was pretty tasty and a tad too salty but that's okay. Meat portion was HUGE. So much variety with big and thick slices. Salad rolls have a lot of vegetables etc. I didn't eat it but the hubs seemed to reallt enjoy it. The peanut sauce is very mild but thick!! The spring roll was wrapped with rice wrap instead of the egg roll wrap which is super awesome because they kept it very traditional with the wrap and the filling. Love how they have the hoisin, sriracha and FISH SAUCE on the side. So nice that theres no pressure in trying to grab someone when you need extra sauce. Service here is really good but I hated how I had to ask them 3 times for water. The servers speak English so there's no language barrier. Price here is amazing for what you get. The noodle soups aren't bad, but they're not great. The rice dishes and chicken wings, however, are pretty damn good. I don't usually order rice dishes at Vietnamese places but this place have me coming back for more. The service is pretty awesome, too! I ordered the Fish Sauce flavoured Chicken Wings, and when it came I noticed a piece was somewhat 'bloody'. My absolute favorite pho place. I've done both take out and sit down here. Cute little restaurant with nice seating. Always great customer service and delicious broth. My favorite is the peanut pho. If you're a peanut sauce lover, you'll love this one. Lemongrass chicken is also really great. Spring rolls have good flavor, but a little too oily for my liking. Once for takeout, we had gotten the wrong order. We called, and they promptly apologized and offered to make the correct one, but we realized we didn't have time to drive back. They then offered us a free pho for our next visit. They handled it so professionally and this incident did not deter us from going there again. Pho 37, why do you have to be so far away....... Located at Ironwood Mall and about less than 10 mins drive from Silvercity, my friends and I decided to come here from an early dinner before the movies.The decor of this place is interesting. There's a half bird cage light ornament over each table. The walls are of brownish-orange color with a guitar hung on one side. Definitely one of the better looking pho places. We all knew what we wanted to order but thought we'd give the menu a closer look in case something else sparks our interest. Our server asked if we were ready to order once we opened the menu. That's funny 'cause I didn't even get to the first word. We had their Peanut sate pho and the sample platter. Honestly, just the pho would be enough for one person (unless you're a big eater). The sample platter was for two so everything came in pairs but we were given a knife so we could cut and share. The sample platter consists of: Sugar cane wrapped shrimp (4/5), Salad roll (3.5/5), Short rib (5/5), Spring roll (4.5/5), pork (4.5/5), salad and vermicelli. I didn't try the vermicelli and the salad so I can't comment on its texture and freshness. All the meats were good and my only complaint was the wrap of the salad roll was too chewy/rubbery. Peanut Sate Pho (5/5): If you like peanut flavoured anything, you will LOVE this. A bit rich for some, but I don't mind. I also LOVE the rare beef so tender and you can tell it's good quality beef. I missed the heat in this soup base so I added some sriracha. Next time I'll ask for fresh chili since I always prefer this over sriracha. Will definitely come back. I would never walk into the restaurant on my own, but yelp said it was good so I had to give it a try. We had the spring rolls and each a bowl of pho. The spring rolls were amazing and actually authentic Vietnamese spring rolls, don't skip on these! The pho was also great, just basic pho but done super well. If ur craving pho, the prices are great and this joint rly provides a good bowl of pho. Wow! The pho broth here is so good that it deserves a round of applause. In addition to this, the quality of the ingredients in the pho was excellent. I ordered the number #11 and was especially impressed with the chunks of beef brisket which had a ton of flavour and melted in your mouth practically. The spring rolls here are also spectacular! While appearing smaller than what you'd normally get (it actually comes out to be about the same as what you'd typically receive at other restaurants except in smaller rolls), these spring rolls are perfectly fried making them very crispy, but light and airy, yet filled to the brim with stuffing. I had to do a double take (taste) to be sure I was eating a spring roll this good! AND they use rice paper not egg roll wrappers which I have seen a lot of Vietnamese restaurants doing these days. The service here is also great, and they are very attentive (which is kind of uncommon generally speaking). The servers here actually came by to check to see if you need more tea! After the feast, I was left feeling warm and fuzzy and perfectly content. The only sad part is that there is so much to eat and only limited space in my belly, but I will be back to sample some of the other delicious morsels at Pho 37. Best pho hands down - and I've searched the Lower Mainland for a memorable meal and eaten many bowls of average-to-mediocre pho 'til we took a chance one day and tried these guys. Never looked back. Great chicken wings, green papaya salad and so much other good stuff, but it's their Tuan's #40 we keep going back for. Had no idea there was another pho place in Ironwood. Thank goodness for Yelp! Came here last weekend for dinner. Ordered my usual pho tai for $8.50. There is only one size of bowl. Food comes out pretty quickly and, oh my, it is good. The beef is actually rare when it comes out. The broth is delicious. Easily top 3 pho restaurants in Richmond at the time of this review for me. They have a giant tv inside (with the NBA finals on). They have free wifi. There is free parking our front. They accept credit cards. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Came to pho 37 with my mom on a Wednesday night just before the dinner rush. I got the pho #11 (no tripe) and the shrimp salad roll while my mom got the #21 Lemongrass chicken with spring roll on vermicelli. Portions are large and the soup was flavourful! Salad roll wasn't very tasty, not much shrimp and quite a bit of noodles inside but their spring rolls were really good! Crispy with a thin wrapper and very delicious. Definitely pick the spring rolls over the salad roll. My mom rates this 5/5 and I rate it 4.5/5 because they did forget that I ordered a salad roll and I had to remind them. I can no longer give Pho 37 my business due to a case of captivity and what I see as blatant neglect. As soon as you walk in the door of this small establishment, you will see two beautiful and massive Koi fish in a tank that can't be much more than twice they're length and not even one fish width. I sat at Pho 37 eating my lunch and could not get these Koi out of my mind. The boring, dull lives they suffer with no space to swim and no stimuli must be driving them mad. If Pho 37 must have Koi in this tank, I wish they would put fish in the tank an appropriate size to suit the environment. I believe the two massive Koi currently enduring this sad existence deserve nothing less than a habitat with plants, access to sunshine and room to swim.
