One of the best hu tiu nam vang! Small place on a second floor. The soup is flavourful and taste authentic. They are specialized in hu tiu soup, so you won't find pho or other noodle soup in their menu. The main reason why i did not give a 5 stars is due to the cleanliness of the place. The tables are quite sticky...and the place itself doesn't look that clean. But who cares right? The food is great! **they are closed on Wednesdays

Solid authentic Viet restaurant offering one of the most authentic soups I've had. This is my second favourite Hu Tieu Nam Vang place in Montreal (first place I have to keep for myself). This restaurant is a hidden gem! Food: brought my Vietnamese friend here and even she said that the soup is authentic. We had the Hu Tieu Nam Vang (one dry one with soup) and some fried Chinese Donut bread. The Chinese donut wasn't as good but the soup was definitely mouthwatering, flavourful and authentic. The ice coffee with milk is also a classic to have. Service: the waiter was so friendly and looked very joyful, and that puts me in a good mood too. Only con is that parking is a bit difficult.

Restaurant is on the 2nd floor - despite the old faded sign on the first floor door they are still open for business.

Absolutely my favorite meal while in Montreal. Having been to Saigon, VN twice I fell in love with Hu Tieu Nam Vang and have had a hard time finding anything similar outside of Vietnam. We all ordered the Hu Tieu Nam Vang which is a pork based broth with noodles, pork, shrimp, fried tofu and various veggies. Absolutely delicious when eaten with giò cháo quy, (Chinese cruller/donut). The giò cháo quy you have to ask for but I highly recommend it. Had to park on the street as there is no parking lot and upon walking up to the door we didn't' realize but the place is on the second floor. The sign on the door is old and faded and we initially thought they were out of business.

'Kho' Phnom Penh soup and fried chinese bread to dip!

Phnom Penh is probably Côtes-des-Neiges' best kept secret and has been open for over 20 years. Having lived in Toronto and Seattle, I make a point to come to Phnom Penh anytime I'm back in Montreal, haven't found any other restaurant like it in other cities! The go-to for me is definitely the white noodle Phnom Penh soup served as 'kho', which is served with noodles and broth separate with some great garnishes and sauce on the noodles. It's delicious! Coupled with fried chinese bread to dip in the broth, you're in for a treat, get the spring rolls if you're real hungry as well, they're excellent. One bonus is that despite their restricted hours, they're usually always open on holidays, I've gone numerous times for lunch on Christmas eves and thanksgivings. Oh, and make sure to bring cash!

A flavorful bowl of noodle soup!

I fell in love with this place the moment the food arrived. The soup was so flavorful. The fried dough just makes it better. Fresh and cold soursop drink!

This is the best Pho ever. = )

This is the BEST pho place in Montreal by far. Trust me. I am from Vancouver, i have had pho at 50 different restaurants, at my Vietnamese friends house, i even made it myself. This is the one and only place in Montreal that i will go to for pho. It is simply the best there is. Take my word and just go try it. This is a beautiful hidden gem of a vietnamese/cambodian restaurant. 10/10

The best H Tíu you can find in Montreal. The taste is very close to the street food in Saigon.

Looks like I spoke too fast and now I'll be eating my words for judging this place too fast. I…read morethink I dropped by on an off day for the restaurant where things were disorganized including the dish I received. Most likely because of the power outage they experienced an hour before my arrival. Trusting my gut feeling that this place has a good potential, visited them 3-4 times some months following my bad review and honestly was impressed on every single visit. My last discovery was their chicken noodle soup, a tad less rich in flavour than a Pho but very close and satisfying have to admit. I'll ask them if they would make this with grilled chicken to enhance the overall experience. Next soup will be with beef knowing their beef in their salad was cotton soft. I'll be a regular here from now on given their proximity to my house as well as to discover what's left to discover on their interesting tasty menu. Most importantly, a lesson learned here: Do NOT judge a place based on one visit, be it positive or negative. Things could go to either direction over time.

The space has a fun, laid-back vibe that makes it perfect for a casual night out. We ordered: * Papaya salad * Wasabi shrimp ceviche * Steak Stuffed Wings: hands down the highlight of the night. I had a Lucy Liu which was delicious and had a little kick to it. The Thai basil was great counterpoint. The service was helpful and prompt and the gentleman knew the menu well. We started with the pork belly and shrimp chip combo that was in a slight sauce of red curry. The spices and flavor were delicious. We also ordered the pickled vegetables which was refreshing contrast to the meat. We also ordered stuffed chicken wings and green papaya salad. We ended with the desert of mango with sticky rice. The mango was perfectly ripe and sweet and tart enough to contrast with the coconut milk sweetened sticky rice. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the cooks work in the kitchen. The space and ambiance were lovely.

Don't like to sit alone in a restaurant so I like places that offer takeout. This place uses a…read moreservice to take online orders, ideal when going back to the hotel. Tonight was really good: the crab soup actually had crab, the kamikaze maki had solid tuna, not tartare, and the pad that had plenty of shredded chicken and six nice size shrimp. Everything beat my expectations, the noodles in the pad thai were compressed into a bloc, which I had to tear apart. Notwithstanding the noodles, everything tasted amazing. But, if you go make it a Thursday evening. Twice I have been really happy with my order, but once it was pretty bad, with my food lukewarn, fried apples rubbery, no tea that was supposed to be with the table d'hote. Not to sound sexist, but both Thursdays the staff in the dining room was female; the Tuesday night, I think it was, there were two guys and they didn't even bother with utensils. And the ladies gave me a 10% discount! No idea about the kitchen staff, but again Thursday night rocks. Definitely going back for more. PS: Bring your own wine. Most restaurants in the area allow that, but I don't know of they licensed to sell alcoholic beverages.
