I've always had a fondness for this place because I pull a lot of employees from here and they…read moreoften have just enough knowledge and a little bit of experience in our industry. Now my girlfriend's daughter is going to attend (different industry) and I'm looking forward to see how she does by attending school here. The only thing is that for the smaller schools, like the one my girlfriend's daughter attends for actual high school, I wish EVIT offered some sort of shuttle service. The bigger schools have buses but the small schools don't have that luxury.

But what has been…read moreupsetting me is how EVIT doesn't understand stuff happends, like a tire popping while your driving. I am also a student who has an IEP, Autism&ADHD so i tend to forget some stuff, yet my teachers and EVIT seems to not understand or care and without warning penalize me such as (takes pts away, give saturday school,OOO out of school suspension if you dont make it exactly at 8:00 for saturday school at EVIT), WITHOUT WARNING! which hurts me as their student so i am making this review to hopefully show y'all and EVIT this is frustrating as a student and parent. None of my EVIT teachers gave me a paper about expectations everyday in class at the begin of the year, failed multiple times to explain what punishments happens to EVIT students when not in full uniform, doesn't give no info on paper to students like what is the point of my IEP if EVIT just ignores my disabilities .P.S Understand #### Happens.

Advice based on my experience:…read more 1- find the teachers that teach in a manner you understand and adjust your schedule to be in their classes, if possible 2- read the chapter before class 3- take notes and pay attention 4-plan plenty of time to do homework the same day you went to class. There's plenty of homework. Do it all, a few times The teachers aren't great about answering questions in an understandable way (example- some asks about question "X". The teacher responds "well it's obviously not A or C so that leaves B or D and B is clearly the better answer of those two. Any more questions?" Umm...if we knew all of that was "clear" we wouldn't ask. I waited to take my school exam until a couple months after finishing school and I had time to really study and retake the exams they give in the packet. I passed my second time. I did buy some of the study materials (flash cards, dictionary and the practice exams on CD) I found these helpful and essential to my learning. Highly recommend the CD!! I passed the state exams the first time.

I live in the SE part of the valley, so that is too far for me. I decided to give the Gilbert campus a try, and I'm very glad that I did. It was very easy to sign up for classes and the two ladies at the front desk, Kerstin and Charmaine, are very friendly and helpful. The instructors are all very professional, knowledgeable and available to help. Most of them even give their contact information so you can ask them questions outside of class. Most importantly, even though I took the Crash Course, which the instructors say is like drinking from a fire hose, I was able to pass both the school test and the state test on the first try. I couldn't have asked for more than that.

I wish there was a way to expand on different ratings. Not everything is created equal, and while I…read moreadmire and appreciate the instructors, there are other factors that prevent me from giving it 5 stars. First: The instructors, which I can only speak to Mr. E. (Ernie Kornya) and briefly Mr. James at this moment, since I'm barely in Module 2. They are very knowledgeable in their craft. Mr. E. brings a wealth of information and support. He is patient and truly cares about the success and comprehension his students attain. He makes learning the difficult stuff, fun and rewarding. Ms. Dalis is such a joy to see every day. She is compassionate and tough. She cares about what she does - that much I can tell. She will fight for you as long as you are fighting for yourself. Who wouldn't want that kind of backing in your corner? Everyone I have encountered so far (staff-wise) plays a critical role in our journey, and I have zero complaints on that. 5 STARS. Second: The resources are minimal, at best. There aren't enough materials, tools, workstations to go around, and it creates a huge learning gap for those who have to be bystanders in lab. There's only so much you can do when you're grouped with 5 other students during an exercise and we're all sharing one set of tools. How can we successfully complete a circuit if there's only one person performing the surgery, while we onlookers nod our heads in synchronicity? It's a waste of time to me. Speaking of time, I have never had to follow such a strict attendance schedule at any point in my post-secondary institutions. Historically speaking, we adults are usually at the mercy of our own lecture/attendance, note-taking, content comprehension, etc. At UEI, you are not graded solely on the understanding of the content, homework, quizzes, etc. No. You are graded (heavily) on whether or not you show up at your expected time, and stay the entire duration - NO MATTER WHAT. That part is crazy to me. I don't think I'll ever understand it. Having to leave EXACTLY at 13:00 (not at 12:59) is ludicrous. We are not children. We are well past middle school. If class runs successfully until 12:50, then let's leave at 12:50. Simple. 2 STARS. Longest review I've ever made, but it's important to note these things. There's not enough time to mention everything, but I wish I knew half of my grievances up front. I probably would've went in a different direction. Regardless, while I'm here, Mr. E., thank you for showing up for us every day. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and trade secrets. Thank you for behaving like a normal human being, rather than someone who is better than us. THANK YOU, MR. E.!!!
