You have to apply yourself and if you are having troubles there are classmates, project staff, and instructors that will help you. I've read other reviews on here and I don't know if things have changed with the instructors or with the quality if students, but I had no problem getting help and was never chastised by my instructors. I did my internship at an A/V rental shop, in Las Vegas, doing Audio Tech work. NOT what I went to school for, but it was paying and I have a family. I figured I would learn as much as I could on the tech side of things and network, network, network. I set up a small home studio, cut a couple tracks for a couple artists out here talked to anyone and everyone I could in the business and one day I got offered a FOH touring position with a small local Vegas band and was out and off on the road. Touring isn't for me. Lol, but I did it and I know that now. I am now back in Vegas, freelancing. Not always the most glamorous gigs, I'm currently doing a corporate gig... Sitting here typing this review because there's nothing else for me to do at the moment, but its still fun flying PAs and playing with audio. I never feel like I'm working, plus, what I made in one week touring I make in one day freelancing. I know this isn't a typical review, but I give you this because what I did, that I don't think other people did who have given very negative reviews, was take what was given to me and ran with it. Very few of us are going to be winning Grammy's and I honestly never wanted to do that anyway. I do studio work, I do live sound, I do odd audio jobs from cleaning up tracks sent to me over the internet to recording odd sounds for video games and other media. You will probably never hear of me winning a Grammy or being FOH for the next big artists, but I do what I love and I make very good money doing it. It took me a little over a year and a half to get where I am today. There were ups and downs, but I'm here now and the hard times are what made me more diligent and made me work harder to achieve what I wanted. I am now currently in the process of opening up a studio within the next 18 months and it just seems like everything is going better and better! Work hard at school and in a short time you won't be working at all. You'll be getting paid to have fun!!!

Within 2 weeks of the first conversation with Deborah, I was enrolled (red flag) I didn't realize it then but their sales pitch was the most predatory I've ever heard. Compliments like "I can already tell you'd be good at this", "Sounds like you've got a good ear", things like that. They pushed their alumni's recording credits a lot, it was a primary reason I decided to go. One of their students helped mix a record I really love, and they preyed on that so hard. What they didn't say is that the vast majority of graduates don't wind up staying in audio long. Most of the people I went to class with are not actively working in audio, and many said that they left CRAS underprepared and miserable. Their approach is to force feed the information as quick as possible, using staff and teachers that epitomize ego and callous indifference. They do not care if you graduate. They do not care if you're struggling. They do not care about their students, period. It's a power hungry organization stuck in their old ways. They can kick you out for missing a single day of class, and thats exactly what they did to me. While some instructors were truly fantastic, for every good one there were 4 bad ones at least. And when you finally did ask for help, they'd either miss the point entirely or completely ignore you. I urge the school to be better. For all the resources you guys have, you are the furthest thing from teachers, even instructor is a compliment. I didn't walk away from CRAS with anything but massive student debt and severe depression. Kirt, Brock, and all other CRAS staff, be better.

The work comes rapidly and the pace is brutal at first, but that is simply not their problem. It is a program the weeds out the weak and only the dedicated survive. It's up to YOU to find the answers. YOU make your own study guide. It is 10% instruction and 90% YOU. Show up every day. Ask questions. If you don't get an answer you want, ask someone else. Ask every single person in the whole school before you give up and believe that the school is the problem. Use every available resource. And if nothing else, use google. This is not like college even though it has it in the name. You get a syllabus, 1 hour of lecture per class, and then you are on your own. This program is for people that simply do NOT have time to go back to school. Do not have time to mess around. And are here to WORK THEIR ASS OFF! If you lack the self discipline, you will fail. If you lack the motivation, you will fail. Every teacher here has the knowledge but they are not educators. They are individuals who have worked in the medical field for 20+ years and believe that they can impart their knowledge on you. That's why I only give 4 stars. They are not the best teachers. But they have a ridiculous knowledge of their field and it shows. Many of them aren't used to computers. That's where you buckle down and do it yourself. It's an accelerated program. From Day 1 it is ALL located in the online program and it's not on them to give a "review" to study with. You read the chapters, do the homework, review the homework, write extensive notes and study your notes. Sounds like a lot? It is. But it is doable. The price seems steep, but medical school will set you back hundreds of thousands of dollars that you may never pay back. This is about 1/10 of the price. The students are all in it together and all help each other build a sense of comradery and look after each other. You might not apply everything you learn here in your career. You will learn even more from the externship. The teachers are strict, rigorous, and professional. It may or may not be that way in your career in the field, but right now you are here to learn and figure it out using critical thinking skills.

Okay so first off, I went to WCT because it worked perfect with my work schedule, was only 4 weeks…read moreof class and 1 weeks clinicals, AND I would be done by Thanksgiving! Actually, Friday (the 13th) would have been my last day, If everything went as planned. Great right?? Well... the first week of class we found out our instructor had "Prior engagements she couldn't get out of" AKA she went on vacation. Which I get it, but they should have gotten a sub. So that set our class back a week because she was gone the first week from Thursday- the next Wednesday. So now, our clinicals would have been from the 20th-24th. Which still would have been done by Thanksgiving, however; we would have to go on a Saturday & a Sunday. Which I wouldn't mind, but it's not what I signed up for, you know? Fast forward to Tuesday, the 9th, our last week of learning, and then the next would be skills, and the next was clincals. Almost done with the class! Yay! However, we got to class and the receptionist of the school came in and told us our instructor was in the hospital. Which we were all super bummed about because she was a great teacher. I felt super selfish, but all I could think about was "How are we going to finish the class? " She is okay, something with a broken disk, I don't really know, I didn't get much information. So class was obviously cancelled Tuesday.. and I got a call later that night that Wednesday was too. I got a call Wednesday that Thursday was as well. And shocking, I know, Friday got cancelled also. All because they didn't have a back up instructor. I got the campus directors information, wrote him a very stern email, explaining my situation, and what we could do to resolve it. He then called me and said they found an instructor, but for only nights. Which clearly, I signed up for the class because it was so convenient with my schedule. He did tell me he will be giving me a full refund, which is the best thing for me at this point. All of this being said, the campus director was super nice and apologetic, but I am still super bummed about this whole situation. The school should have been way more organized. I was halfway through the class already. The only reason I even gave it a 2 star is because they gave me a refund, and Marcy was a really good teacher.

He was told UEI would send them to his new address out of state, back in August 2025. Today 2/5/26 he was told they will not ship and that they need to be special ordered and can pick up March 2026. I do not recommend this school, not only for this reason, but because their accredited program, IS NOT accepted outside of AZ, which has kept him from getting a job.

The third week of class, skills week, was especially interactive. Prepare to study hard. The material itself isn't too difficult, just the sheer amount of information in a relatively short time. Andrew and Andrea are both very supportive of their students so if you put in the time, you should have no trouble passing the NREMT.
