Plus their computer system wasn't working for the "e-version" certificate they said we'd receive, so I spent 4.5 hours on a Saturday morning and came away with a half completed piece of paper that doesn't have pertinent info I need to prove I took this class. I was required to take CPR and First Aid to…read moredo an emergency respite job for the foster care agency I work for so I went through the the American Heart Association website and found this company. I registered for a class upcoming on Tuesday. Tuesday morning I got a text message that the instructor had a family emergency and class would be cancelled that day. I had to have the CPR certification by Wednesday at 2pm so I asked what my options were, and they told me to come to class at 6pm which I wasn't able to since it was my sons birthday that day hence why I signed up for a class during the day. They offered to let me take the class at the same location at the same time the following day and stated I would be done by 1:00 pm. I arrived 15 minutes early but the door was locked. I waited until 9:55 and tried again and it was still locked so I texted the number asking if someone would confirm I had class that day. At 10:00 am I called the number and left a voicemail asking for someone to call me back and let me know if there was a miscommunication because I would need to find another class as soon as possible. No response. Hours later I received a return phone call but it was a pocket dial and no one responded. Still haven't heard anything back which is highly unprofessional. I wasted time and gas and was really put in a bind!

I have been certified with NASM for almost 20 years. I personally have always had solid experiences…read morewhen I have called for myself to get info about CEU's certification statuses etc. I've run fitness facilities for 18 of those 20 years and can honestly attest that nASM certified trainers, that USE the OPT model with their clients, attract and sell more clients PT services, service more sessions every month (bigger paychecks for themselves), get better results for their clients (because they have a goal and path to achieve it), which leads to higher retention rates. At this point I will interview trainers that have other certifications and if they meet our requirements offer them a position, but have found that they typically enroll in a NASM program within the first year because they see what difference it can make with their clients.

I am very disappointed with my experience with NASM regarding their NASM One subscription…read more I was locked into a one-year subscription with zero prior notice. This was done at 9:30 PM after business hours, when I had no ability to reach anyone or do anything about it. When I saw the email the next morning at 6 AM, I immediately emailed the company--timestamped before they even opened--stating that I wanted to cancel. I was then told that I was too late, that nothing could be done, and that I was now locked in for the entire year at $38 per month ($456 total). I went through my credit card company, provided all documentation, and they ruled in my favor, determining that there was no proper advance notice and that my attempt to cancel was valid. I have now been refunded for the past five months, yet NASM still refuses to cancel my account and continues attempting to bill me. At this point, I am being charged month after month despite a dispute that has already been resolved in my favor. My credit card company continues to side with me, yet NASM continues to push charges through. I cannot get in touch with a real person. My emails go unanswered, and no one is taking responsibility for resolving this. This is a terrible way to treat your members. I have been with NASM for nearly 20 years, and I am honestly disgusted by the way this has been handled and the complete lack of response. I will continue to dispute these charges every month until my subscription is canceled and the billing stops. I would strongly recommend that others avoid participating in this subscription program. Based on my experience, it is not worth the cost, and the way it is managed raises serious concerns. There is a reason this company has a 1.7 rating--they are taking advantage of their members. Shame on you for taking advantage of people who have been loyal to your company for years.
