I love more Philz are coming to the East Bay, no longer having to make a trip to SF for a cup, we now have Berkeley and Emeryville. Located within Emeryville Bay Street, parking is a pain but the availability of caffeine options external to Starbucks is a treat. If you arrive early morning before most stores open, parking is a lot easier Inside Philz, the interior is expansive with plenty of seating. The ordering is setup towards the back right and the pickup counter is beyond narrow and tight. Again, early morning not so bad, late morning and beyond it's congested like no other. It's hard to navigate to the person designated to prepare your order as there are rarely names on display. Today, the only name on display was Yessenia, my person was Justin. There were three areas designated to pickup drinks based on the separation of drinks on the counter. When the drink was ready, my name was not called out as I typically experience. And when the notification was sent that Justin had my drink ready, it took an additional five minutes for my drink to appear on the counter. Not sure if customer service did not carry over to Emeryville as it had in Berkeley. I received no welcome in, thank you, have a great day... usual salutations I've come to know and welcome from Philz. To be honest, this is my first time visiting a Philz since the acquisition by a new owner(s). Maybe customer service is not a part of the new owners model. Whatever the case, the coffee is still amazing with the unfortunate lack of connection or humanity. Only if I'm in the area, desperate for a cup, would I revisit. There was so much engagement behind the counter with an intentional disconnect across the counter. I hope this was an outlier experience under new management and not the norm.

Brief Summary - In the Bay Street area - Coffee is not sour - Seats inside and outside, but often busy on weekends - Line up on the left of the merch shelf, and pickup on the right Pleased to have a coffee shop along Bay Street, and Philz is a favorite of mine. I like how the coffee is drip style, so it's easy to drink after lunch. I've been more than a handful now, since it arrived. Flavor has been constant from other Philz branches I tried. The staff here are down to earth and help me out when I'm indecisive on what blends to choose. My favorite blends are the ones in the medium and dark roast area with the lightest sugar or cream, but I also love to try the seasonal drinks. However, my recent favorite coffee combination is the medium/dark, iced, with the sweetest and creamiest option. That tasted great on summer days.

My friend ordered two drinks online, but when we arrived, we realized that one was hot and the other was iced. We had actually wanted both drinks hot, so one of them was ordered incorrectly as iced by mistake. I explained to the barista that I had accidentally selected the iced option and asked if it would be possible to remake it as a hot drink. The barista kindly said yes and asked me to wait for a bit. They also said I could keep the iced drink, but in the end I didn't take it because I really didn't want a cold drink.

Beautiful Philz location here in Emeryville. The space is huge and a good place to work or chill with friends. I got the tried and true mint mojito latte, and my sister got the honey latte. The flavor was light and refreshing. I will definitely stop by again next time I'm in the area.

I Phil good day da da da da da da Like I knew that I would da da da da da da da I loved how kind and friendly the employees were. I forgot the name of the young lady who took my order. I ordered a large, but ended up with a small. It's okay. She was kind enough to carry it out for me, since I had a number of items That was awfully kind of her. Oh, and p.s. my coffee tastes great. Thank you all!

I always love a good Philz coffee. Was in Emeryville, walking around, and found a Philz for a quick pick-me-up in the afternoon. I love the wall art at this location. Did an online order, and it was ready when I arrived.

The mint mojito is always my go-to morning drink (with extra mojito)! This particular location is along the outdoor strip mall, making it the perfect spot to grab a drink before starting a shopping trip. The space is clean, feels safe, and the staff are always pleasant.

I decided to try their Pistachio Spice and their Cashew Cocoa. The Pistachio Spice and Cashew Cocoa has Philtered Soul as its base, and it's one of my favorite blends in addition to the Tesora. The Pistachio Spice was quite good, but the Cashew Cocoa had a sourness that I was not a fan of. The service was fast and the ambiance is typical of a Philz

I thoroughly enjoy Philz Coffee. Today I ordered the Honey Haze drink and it was DE-lightful The establishment was cleaned and full for a Sunday. I will certainly order the Honey Haze again, very soon.

Love me some Philz Coffee! I stopped by the Emeryville location on a rainy day after a big meal, and a small hot Tesora totally hit the spot. The place has plenty of seating, cool wall art, and clean restrooms. Great vibes all around. Definitely recommend!

I love it the pumpkin flavors are in. Vanilla date latte = yes!

The drip coffee here is made to order so be patient. Your morning jolt takes time so if you're short on time order ahead. There is a difference between drip and espresso coffee so google it. Executive summary: Service:5/5 Depth of menu: simple, short and sweet Quality:5/5 Good for groups:5/5 Space to work:5/5

I pedaled my bike over there this Wednesday morning, aiming to secure a proper breakfast that would actually carry me past 11 a.m. The shop is cozy, definitely on the smaller side with a few seats inside, giving it that familiar, neighborhood spot feel. It's not a sprawling, antiseptic café, and I appreciate that. I ordered the Laney Breakfast Sandwich, which features egg, fresh spinach, sliced turkey, and Swiss cheese on a toasted English muffin. What impressed me was the intentionality--this wasn't something sitting under a heat lamp, looking defeated. It was clearly made to order. The egg was seasoned right, the turkey wasn't flimsy, and the spinach added that necessary fresh bite. It was a damn good sandwich, simple as that. I paired that with the Berry Lovers Smoothie. The original recipe calls for banana, but I asked if they could swap that out for mango. My people know that mango adds a different kind of sunshine, and they executed the substitution flawlessly. It came out thick, perfectly blended--a rich mix of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and that mango kick. It was super refreshing and didn't taste like I was drinking melted ice. The service was quick and friendly, which is key on a weekday morning. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and intentionally prepared. If you're looking for high-quality breakfast fare that feels less commercial and more like something someone actually cares about, stop by. The short bike ride and the intimate seating are worth it for what comes out of that kitchen. They earned this review.

Later on, they sold dried fruits also. Eventually they sold hot foods like popcorn chicken, curry fish balls and different boba drinks. They have seatings as well. Their boba drinks had became so popular that they opened locations in Berkeley, San Francisco and Milpitas. I love their bobas, it's sweet, bouncy and great chewing texture. They used to have small tapioca options which I had loved, but it isn't an option anymore. All their drinks are pretty good so you can't be wrong what drinks you choose. I highly recommend their drinks and their popcorn chicken. I will definitely come back and try other drinks as well.

The milk tea quality honestly was ok. I am not sure why I tasted a hint of thai tea lol but I did not mind. The boba quality was great. Perfect texture and I love how chewy it is. Plus they gave a good boba proportion! The popcorn chicken was not spicy enough for me so I used the powder they had near the seating area. I think they try to not make it too spicy because a lot of families and kiddos order it so they probably don't want to make it very spicy. You can sit here too as you wait or as you eat. Staff are typical - not overly friendly but not cold. They are ready to work and hustle! Many childhood memories associated with this place. It has remained a place I will always come back to.

Our orders were taken and we sat down to wait. There were a TON OF FLIES buzzing around and I kept having to wave them off especially when we got our order to the table, which honestly was gross. We were called to pick up our order, but only 1 of the 4 items was ready: Zadie's Masterpiece Breakfast Sando - Really tasty and enjoyed the biscuit it was on. Skimpy on the bacon, there was ONE piece but overall good breakfast sandwich. Next item ready 5 minutes later: Khadija's Slow Burn Harissa Hot Honey Breakfast Burrito - Really tasty. Definitely flavor packed and would order this again. *BUT there was an issue. Apparently the person that ordered before us asked for the same burrito to go...they NEVER got it and yet our order was ready. The person was pretty cool about it but they were definitely annoyed and gave us a look although it wasn't our fault. *The ordering system seems unorganized with the cashier writing orders on a slip of receipt paper and putting them on a stand by the kitchen. I wonder if the slips were out of order or fell and they skipped this persons to go order? IDK but they need a better system! We tried waiting for our coffees before starting to eat but then our food started getting cold...YOU KNOW WHY?... because the poor person that was taking orders was also in charge of making drinks. Having one person as cashier and barrista is NOT a good idea on a busy Saturday morning. It was hard for them to take a moment and focus on the drinks becuase people kept coming in an placing orders which means we waited for 20+ minutes before getting our drinks. By then our food was mostly eaten! Thankfully we noticed they had a water pitcher for free water which was a saving grace! The wait for drinks was so long that people that were already sitting when we arrived and had already eaten their food were JUST getting their drinks before us. HORRIBLE! I felt really bad for the cashier/barista :( Another turn off, there is no understanding on what to do with dirty dishes. Do we bus our table? If so where do we put it? We noticed people leaving plates by the water pitcher and cups, some put them on the long counter by the coffee area. There wasn't a garbage or compost bin, so we weren't sure where to put food scraps. There was a bin for "Plastic Only" but only the cup lids were plastic and the cup itself was paper, so where TF do you put that? We noticed a black plastic bin that someone had brought out from the back, so we placed our stuff in there but wasn't exactly sure. We tried to ask the cashier/barista but they were slammed with customers so we ccouldn't get their attention. IDK the place is just poorly organized and messy! There are tables for people to make artwork which is nice but on a busy Saturday it might have been nice to clean those areas up to allow people to sit. Sorry guys... *You need a dedicated barista! People waiting 20+ minutes for drinks is insane especially when the food comes out relatively fast. *Please clean up your restaurant. The amount of flies was gross and no one wants to swat them away from food & drinks. *Tell people if they should bus their own tables and if so.... *Make it clear where to leave plates, cups, garbage, compost etc.
