I haven't been here for a while....It used to be my ultimate sandwich treat! But maybe no longer....Things at this chain have really changed. And not for the better. The cheese steak meat was BARELY lukewarm. It had ZERO seasoning sprinkled on it during the cooking. At least I assume this, since I couldn't taste any seasoning on the steak AT ALL! (I tasted the meat on its own before eating the sandwich, so I'd know whether additional seasoning was required) The meat itself had no real flavor, it was quite watery-tasting. As if the meat was partly frozen when it was cooked. On top of that, because I used a groupon, they reduced the amount of meat in the sandwich. Given the cost of their sandwiches, this was very disappointing. Guess I'll have to find a new sandwich place..... :-(

Food (4.5/5) absolutely delicious! Freshly made Healing piles of meat and toppings and sauce the staff are also super helpful in letting you sample sauce flavours before committing! the bread did get soggy, but that's to be expected with that much meat on top! The bread started off nicely toasted Price (5/5) they have offers on groupon where you get $20 worth of food for $12 Service (5/5) the server was super nice and helpful. Very friendly! Ambiance (5/5) very clean and utensils/extra sauce etc. Are available at the back!

I purchased a groupon for this place $12 for $20 worth to spend on food, which was a good deal. Philthy Philly's has a large selection of items on their menu ranging from various meat filling poutines or cheesesteaks. Upon arriving it took my wife and I a few minutes to decide as there are a lot of good choices, we ended up getting Philthy size The Big "EZ" and a regular size Notorious P.I.G! poutine. I must say the portions are huge, the poutine was stuff with a lot of meat and decent amount of gravy. Normally if I was by myself I would only get 1 item as I wouldn't be able to finish both a footlong cheesesteak and a regular poutine with all the toppings included. The staff was really friendly and provided recommendations/answered any questions we had. There are lots of seating available for people to dine in and there are two tvs. Overall, it was a positive experience and would recommend others to try this place out if you haven't done so already.

Interior was similar to a Subway/Mr. Sub.

Confession: I came here with a Groupon, $12 for $20 worth of food, so it was a good deal. Otherwise, I don't think I would've come here at all because it's out of the way for me, just south of Clarkson GO station. You hafta choose the kind of cheese, toppings, whether or not you want additional sauce, so it can be overwhelming if you don't like to make decisions. Here's my breakdown... Classic Cheesesteak - 3.5-4 / 5 - Even for the standard Classic Cheesesteak, there's a selection of cheese, toppings, & sauce. Staff was very patient and even offered a sample of the sauces that were available. Bread was soft. Cheesesteak wasn't too wet on its own, but it was messy to eat and probably best enjoyed when dining in. The additional sauce was good. We ordered the "Philthy" size which was 12" long. Shareable among 3ppl. Classic Poutine - 3/5 - This was a bit of a disappointment. Fries did seem fresh cut, but they weren't crispy. Gravy was good, but there was too much. Cheese appeared to be curds, but weren't squeaky and was already melting. Poutine wasn't layered, just seemed like gravy/cheese was dumped on top. Chip trucks are better than this. Again "Philthy" size was large enough for 3-4ppl to share! Service - 5/5 - Female at the cash register was very patient, friendly, and helpful. She provided samples of sauce and did place all the hot peppers, jalapenos, & pickles on the side as per request. Atmosphere - 3.5-4 / 5 - There are 2 tvs, 1 on CP24 and another playing some HGTV show. Interior is reminiscent of a Subway and is clean. However, what I noticed was that it was COLD inside. It didn't seem like any heat was on. Overall, it was a positive experience, but not sure if I'd have a strong enough craving to drive that far out for. Maybe if they improved their poutine?

More on the 3.5 side Ordered just a poutine. Didnt find it special or better than any other poutine ive had. Way too much gravy which made the fries soggy . The gravy did hve a good flavour though. The cheese was melted so i wasnt sure if it was curds or grated. Not sure that ill be back. Wasnt wowed at all.

Philly Steaklair: Steak, bacon, cheese, eclair, whipped cream

Stop #2 at the Canadian National Exhibition was Philthy Philly's. Outside of the food reviews that I write, my diet is strictly healthy, whole food, calorically tracked goodness. That's one of the reasons why I approached Philthy Philly's with somewhat of a mischievous delight. I ordered the Philly Steaklair, which as the name suggests is part Philly cheesesteak, part éclair. Right now you may be thinking that this concoction is a crime against food, and I wouldn't blame you. That being said, I'm ashamed to admit how much I loved this thing! Don't get me wrong; this was far cry from a culinary masterpiece, but the combination of these individual titans of snacking and savoury taste came together to wow my heavily skeptical taste buds from bite number one. The assault of sweetness from the éclair and oodles of whipped cream met with the steak and bacon like it was no big deal. And did I say "oodles" of whipped cream? Damn right I did! Check your health at the door and sin a little bit, (a lot bit), with this sandwich. This thing was too good. Eat it once in your life, then never again.

Classic philly cheesesteaks and a poutine, picture doesn't justify the size of the large cheesesteak

Went for lunch. Both orders were Philly cheesesteaks and a poutine. At first I thought $30 was pricey for 2 cheesesteaks, poutine and a fountain drink. However, the portions were large, they do not skimp on the amount of meat. Plus free refills on the drink. We liked that everything was cooked fresh. They have a huge selection of cheesesteaks, pulled pork and poutine. We will definitely be back to try some other menu items.

This is a HARD REVIEW for me to do .... Why you ask !?!?! Well I lived in Philly for 4 years during college Where the cheese steak is king ! And so my opinion is gonna be either liked or hated Anyways here we go ... Upon entry the guy at the front was very friendly Great customer service ! They have tons of different cheesesteaks which I didn't like cause an Original authentic Philly cheesesteak is simple steak , cheese whiz and onions ! Yes whiz ! Not provolone ! Not Swiss not cheddar No other toppings ! No other sauces ! It's a simple sandwich Based on the original creator who back In the day was poor and had no other food in the fridge other then steak ...onions ..cheese whiz and a bun.. So anyways no need for a history lesson I asked the guy to make me an original Cheesesteak with whiz n onions or as they call it back in Philly Whiz Wit! He made it for me as they do an original so here's my opinion Not bad the steak was alright pretty decent actually The sautéed onions were good The whiz was very very watery which he told me it was very watery ! but it did the job ! So you see my option is a lil different But also please don't put different sauces and toppings on your cheesesteak it's sort of a sin I know they offer tons of toppings and tons of sauces but it takes away from the taste . But to each there own ! This places offers toppings and sauces so if you want to do that then do it . The places is clean and friendly and with a try . Since I can't go back to philly all the time I'll definitely come back again to give them another shot ! Good job to the staff here on making it a pleasant experience

This private room is really well done. It is a small long room that can fit quite a long table. The lighting is great and it even has a TV at the end of it. The food is great. The vibes are great and the service is very good! Since we were part of a large group, we got a few appetizers to share like the nacho platter and the garlic bread. I had a chance to try the nachos and they were great. For my main I asked our server which pastas she recommended and she gave some great suggestions. I ended up going with the fettuccine alfredo and added chicken to it. I was honestly really pleasantly surprised that it tasted absolutely delicious and also came with a small garlic bread. I also had the chance to try their sweet potato fries which were also really good. Since we were here for a friend's birthday we did bring a cake and the staff were so kind and helpful. They brought the cake out and brought knives, cutlery and small plates for us to serve the cake. They even went above and beyond by offering to take the cake back to the kitchen and keep it in the fridge for us, they actually cut up the rest of the cake and put them in takeout containers for all of us to take home. In terms of payment, they were able to split bills for such a large party, which I appreciated. The rest of the restaurant has a very chill vibe as well. They have live music which was nice to enjoy for a bit. However, I also really appreciated the fact that the private room had doors on it which is really nice for privacy if we wanted it. The washrooms here are also very clean. Overall, I had a great first experience here, and I think I will definitely be back for their patio in the summertime.

We made reservations a day or two in advance for a party of 20, to ensure the restaurant would know we were coming. We sat at 6:45 and ordered our first round of drinks easily enough, but things went off the rails from there. Multiple orders came late and/or inaccurate. My own, for example was a simple burger. I never received the first attempt at filling my order until the rest of my table already had empty plates. By the third attempt at delivery my burger (seriously, cheese, lettuce and tomato...that's all I wanted), I finally just ate the last one. One of the kids in the group was asked multiple times what she ordered (just poutine) before hers finally showed up. No one, at any point, attempted to clear the empty plates that sat for over an hour. When it came time for the bills, our waitress was no where to be found. Another waitress stepped in to help (she was amazing and deserves better). One person in our party raised this issue with the manager/owner who proceeded to just blame his waitresses while he completely avoided any accountability. After the displeasure was raised to him, he did nothing to help his staff. Rather, he cowered in the doorway to the kitchen while his overworked/under appreciated staff worked to try and rectify this situation. I believe the waitress that stepped in to help out was named Michaela. She was fantastic and should she look for a better restaurant to work at, should be hired on site. We have made an annual group trip to the area and now dined at this restaurant twice. There will not be a third time. We will take our business down the sidewalk to Dave & Busters.

Our waitress was really nice, however everything just took soooooooooo long. We were greeted at our table 15 minutes after seating, the food arrived in a timely manner, except dessert, we waited 20 minutes for this to come to our table, I think we spent just under two hours here. The tenders salad itself was very nice, the tenders however were about 60% breading, even thought it was well flavoured I would expect more than half a piece of a chicken tender in each one of these tenders, I don't know why I would order a salad to eat mostly carb fillings. The ribs truly were the highlight of this dinning experience, they were fall off the bone and cooked to perfection! The sauce was nicely coating the entire rack, and it wasn't fatty, the meat quality was great! The coleslaw was a little flavourless, and too chewed up and processed for my liking. For dessert we had the chocolate cake, I wouldn't recommend this, it was VERY sweet and tasted like box cake, but with a little more moisture.
