I drive by this place daily and never knew what it was. (It's hidden behind a chinese fast food place in the CVS plaza off of Kraemer and Yorba Linda). So I went in and ordered their signature sandwich: Philly's best, which is a cheesteak sandwich with onions, peppers and mushrooms. I wasn't completely wowed by it, but then again I don't have anything to compare it to. Hmmmm........unless you count those philly cheesesteak sandwiches that are in the freezer section of Costco (those are pretty tasty). The sandwich was a lot smaller than I anticipated especially for the price. I think it came out to $7.39 +tax. The bread is soft, mushrooms juicy, peppers and onions full of flavor and the meat is ok. Anyways, I like the sandwich enough to return every once in a while. Oh, and if you plan on using your debit/credit card you need a min order of $10. read more

Had a cheesesteak and fries here for lunch. Overly expensive for what they give you, cheesesteak wasn't great, tasted overly salty, fries were nothing to write about either. The two together came to around 9.50 which I would have rather spent somewhere else. read more

The guy working here with half an eyebrow is a total jerk. He was so angry to take my order. He also touches money then food without washing his hands. read more

We used to come to this Phillys Best ALLL the time. But haven't been in quite awhile. It just sounded good to us last weekend. The bread seems to have gotten smaller and it wasn't as fresh as it usually is. They are way overpriced IMO. You only get like 5 onion rings to an order, they're good , but geez! Don't know if I'll be back. I think they changed owners too cuz the other guy that worked the counter a few years back, Tom I think his name was, was super nice and the food was much better then. read more

Great steak sandwiches. Definitely my go to spot here in Fullerton/Placentia. I recommend getting it with provolone.

I've only been to Philly's Best twice. The food here is tasty. We ordered the cheese steak sandwiches. The worker was polite and nice. Place was clean. I have no complains. read more

Only been here one time, and it was just ok. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and I have to say the sandwich wasn't anything amazing. On a side note, good service, but the sandwich is way overpriced for what you get, combo with the fries and drink ends up being like in the $12 to $13 range for some odd reason. I would much rather go to Jersey Mike's and save myself a few dollars. read more

Kinda expensive but the food is good at least. I like to come here for my cheat meals because eating this type of food regularly makes me full of ragrets. read more

My husband is from Philadelphia, and very picky about cheesesteaks. He gives this place an A, which is pretty surprising for any where not in Philadelphia. read more

I like this place but not when it travels far. More of the "eat it there" kind of thing, otherwise the sandwiches get soggy. Other then that, not bad! read more

Food was fresh and i have no problem with the owner he allows coupons and gave us a great deal for what we ordered. he did not try to get us to spend more and did not make us feel bad for using a coupon. we had a great experience here and the food was so good! read more

Ok this is for Philly Best to realize that your food is being degraded bye Postmates. You take their order cook it and bag it up. Now it sits on the counter for how long now. Then my Postmates driver pick up my order. While delivering someone other order from some where else. Meanwhile my food from your place of business is driving all over town before it's delivered to me on 3-18-21 at early evening time now once the driver pick up from your business your food for a CUSTOMER of your business. It took over 48 minutes after sitting on the counter and being cooked, my order of food was delivered yes delivered but STONE COLD sandwich and rings. Yes onion rings were mushy batter on what was left on onion rings. This pandemic has been tough, but for food business to not care about their food when being delivered by a third party. And the delivery service add $$$ to your food and take zero responsibility for their job delivering your and all other place's. It time all you food business owner get smart and get together and stop the slaughter of your business because they don't care. Time to stand tall. Their all making your food taste like sh_t which hurts your lifestyle because they don't come back to eat your food ever again. All third party delivery service's are making a fortune from you as well as us the customer. Tired of STONE COLD FOOD. And order not being correct or correctly made as ordered. read more

I'd give this place 3.5 stars if there was that option. I'm sitting here eating a pastrami sandwich and drinking a beer. It's not Katz's Deli in lower Manhattan, but my sandwich is good, my beer is cold, and the guys here are friendly and polite. I'm in my happy place and all is right in the world! read more

Service was bad. The guy behind the counter could barely speak English...so he managed to screw my order up. The sandwich was overpriced...tasted like frozen meat for my cheesesteak, not fresh. I should have gone to subway instead! Very disappointed, will never come back here again! read more

I recommend passing this place up and going to bronx sandwich co.! I have tried two different locations yorba linda and fullerton. The meat taste old in both places! This place is expensive and should have better quality of meat! read more

This place is really really good and that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. Many places claim to make the best Philly, but this place actually makes a really great Philly. The Philly's Best is my favorite, although I could do without the sweet peppers but it's still a great sub. read more

I give up last two time asked for just steak and cheese and please nooooo onions I guess that's difficult to do and once again got onions and mushrooms on my sandwich and when you pay 13 bucks for a sandwhich chips and a small drink they can at least get it right read more

This is one of the absolute best locations as far as this chain is concerned. The guys there are absolutely great and always offer great service and with a smile. The place is always clean and well stocked in the pickled vegetables bar. Been going to this one for years and still always like to go only to this location. read more

Great service, food and prices. I almost didn't try the place because there were no people inside. Glad I stayed. My wife say outside with my dog while I ordered. They brought the food to me and it was great. read more

Food is decent but you need to pay close attention to how much they charge you. Best steaks and subs in OC is at A Bite of Jersey in Garden Grove. read more

The people that work there are very polite and service is decent. The food is always served fast and fresh.

not the most appealing environment in the world, but you can/t go wrong with a cheesesteak from here. hands down, the BEST. Charley's ain't got nothin' on Philly's Best IMHO. read more

The food here is good, but they don't seem to care for their customers. We had Placentia bucks with their name & address listed on it & they wouldn't let us use them. We also had a coupon from a different Philly's Best & they wouldn't let us use that either. They obviously don't make supporting their local community a priority. We will probably head over to Craftsman next time. They took GREAT care of us when we used our Placentia Bucks there read more

The service here is seriously the best! The gentleman behind the counter is overly nice and offers suggestions when appropriate. They are always so quick to make my meal, but it still has great taste! Between the super friendly atmosphere and the delicious food- they've got a new regular! read more

My wife and I stopped by this location after a busy day shopping for the holidays, the service was great at the front counter, it was fast , hot and delicious, definitely will be back , the sandwiches we ordered was huge loaded with a lot of steak meat, plenty of cheese , I loved every bite. read more

Was Ok a few years ago, then things went downhill since. Like said in an above review, the cheesesteaks are BLAND with very little seasoning and meat. My favorite of this joint was/are the Hoaggies with the hots. However, just like anything else on the menu, it's definately missing something and almost tastes like it's good for you (which it's obviously not.) Recently, they raised their prices and made a couple of bad hires. Just to give you an idea, the cheesesteak, fry, and drink will run you well over $12! While I wouldn't mind paying this for something on the level of a "Phelipe's French Dip" or similar hard-to-find famous spot, it's ridiculous to pay for something that tastes no better than a Subway sandwhich. The service has gotten worse, too. On two consecutive visits, the cashier chatted away on the telephone with someone who was obviously not a customer. He didn't seem to care one bit that several of us were waiting for him. In fact, I ended up walking out of the restaurant after waiting 5 minutes for him. read more

First off, this place is immaculate ! The owner is always making sure everything is in order..their stoves are very clean, the floors etc. I just had to state that. The customer service is hands down 5 out of 5 stars as well. Extremely friendly, the owner, the people cooking the food. THE FOOD IS FABULOUS ! ! Their food is fresh, the fries are well seasoned, the onion rings have ONIONS in them. None of that batter covered sliver of onion skin..This has onions that are thick cut and you can taste them in the food. The only CON would be, if you will, you can't stop going there once you start ! I love this place and the peop le that work there ! read more

I didn't go inside, family brought home the food. I liked the onion rings, dipped in batter and golden brown. I got the Philly's Best (cheesesteak, peppers, mushrooms, cheese wiz and I added onions). Great bread! Good vegetables but sorry to say the meat did not wow me. Just average, not very beefy tasting. My roommate got the cheesesteak fries and they were a hefty serving and she loved them. Dinner and breakfast/lunch! read more

Went here after my son's soccer practice, brought the entire team and they all loved it. The place is very ambient, The music is nice, The employees were very accommodating, and the food is AMAZING! Definitely going back! read more

I don't think in all of my years going here that I've had one bad experience. The food is delicious every time and the staff is super friendly! Can't complain about anything! Oh maybe one little negligible complaint just that they close a bit early on sundays. At least they're open though!! read more

I think the sandwich combo we ordered was way way to pricey. Got a saggy fries and the sandwich is really small. Did not like the taste either. This is the first time in my life i sent the food back and asked for refund. My first and last experience for them. Costumer service is bad too, cant even say hi. read more

i can't believe to low ratings philly's best has!! it's the BEST philly cheese steak sandwich i've ever had!! i always get the mushroom swiss cheese steak sandwich with their sliced jalapeos all the way on the right, next to where you pick up your order (this entry is sounding a little familiar.. :P check out my colima burger review). read more

This is the best cheesesteak around here. If you aren't a fan of adding peppers and onions you'll need to add something to spice it up as the standard cheesesteak is somewhat bland. Service is slow but that is because your sandwich is made to order. Currently $5 for a regular steak, a great deal for a meal that will fill you up for the rest of the day. read more

Maybe it was just today's visit that I didn't enjoy. We had a coupon for buy one get one free on any sandwich. So we ordered the hoagie and it was ok. But while paying, the guy was speaking really fast with a strong accent. Me and my girlfriend both heard him say, instead of just drinks, do you want to make it a combo with fries or onion rings. I asked him what the price difference was and he said, "it will be cheaper with the combo." So we agreed. We handed him our card and he told us it was $20 and some change. I asked him why it was so much and he slid the card before replying. He then says, "yes it was $8 cheaper because you had the coupon." Maybe it was my fault, but I certainly did not appreciate how fast he decided to charge us before explaining what he charged us for. So the 2 stars is mostly for the service, but, I think I'd still prefer a couple other places for the cheesesteaks. read more

Philly's best in Cali? This is a bold statement for a Southern California sandwich hut. The name itself grabbed my curiosity. What does it mean to be Philly's Best? Is it the gooey cheese? Is it the juicy beef? Is it the chewy warm bread they stuff their awesomeness in? WELL HECK YEAH it's all the above?! Just letting you in on a little secret....their Philly's Best Sandwich has this awesome sweet peppers that really made their sandwich stand out from the rest. Tell them to either add extra sweet peppers or ask for it on the side. This little sweet pepper is what really makes this sandwich different. Is it Philly's Best in Cali? I would say so. Save your money on that plane trip and 5 hour flight! Philly's best is right around the corner. Don't forget to get a side of their Philly's best fries covered in their Philly Cheese Steak, grilled onions and gooey melted liquid gold I call CHEESE! read more

Philly's Best is one of my favorite places to eat and I've been a customer since day one in Fountain Valley. Unfortunately, franchising takes a toll. I have three complaints about this store. First, it appears to me that they are skimping on the cheese. Less cheese makes for a drier sandwich. Second, the pickles at the condiment bar are mushy and saturated with vinegar. They appear to have been sliced at least a week ago instead of daily. I always remembered them to be crisp and fresh. Finally, the big panhandling signs at the cash register is a bit over the top. If you're not being paid enough, ask for a raise. Bob and Andrea......you've spent 20 years building a good brand. Don't allow your franchisees to lower the quality. read more

I haven't been here in a couple of years. Went in and ordered the $5.99 special and a small drink. As a common theme here, the bill was $9.30. Huh? The amount of meat was skimpy, the cheese was very salty and they seemed to forget the onions. I won't go back. If you want a good cheese steak in this area go to PK' s on Imperial and Valencia. read more

I'm new to Yelp! And after reading some of the reviews I have come to the conclusion that people are asshats and when they have a bad day they go to a restaurant then go home and vomit out some angry yelp review after 1 visit. I on the other hand have been to this particular establishment a handful of times so my review should carry a little weight. Every time I have gone I have been helped by the same man at the register, I'm assuming he is the manager. Every time I have gone in there he has been extremely friendly even to go as far as inquire about my recovery from a recent motorcycle accident I was involved in. I have seen him interacting with many other customers in an equally friendly manner. Every time I have gone there I have gotten the cheese steak and I honestly think that it is the best cheesesteak you will find on the west coast (my family is all from Philly so know this comes from experience) My only complaint is that it is a little pricey but not outrageous. I think for the cheesteak and a side of fries (both generously portioned) I paid somewhere just under 9 bucks. There was no 10 dollar minimum to use a card like a previous review had said. I say this place is worth at the very least giving a try and after writing this review I plan on heading over and getting a cheese steak to go! read more

Great food, but a bit pricy. The cheesesteak was very delicious and the fries were just as good. I will go back from time to time.
