This is not a great cheesesteak but, it's serviceable for a reasonable price and is served quickly at this location of the PC. The restaurant itself looks to have seen better days but the service is friendly and, as mentioned, the food gets to you fast. They don't have the fries warming under a light, instead they are dropped about the time your steak and onions hit the grill so you get them hot and crispy with a dusting of seasoned salt. On the Original cheesesteak you get steak, onions and choice of white american and provolone cheese. I like the hoagie version which has lettuce, tomato and olive oil. My only asks would be more seasoning on the meat as it's cooked and some vinegar to go with the olive oil and cut some of the fattiness. read more

I stopped through Mr Charles one Saturday afternoon after honestly deciding I didn't want to spend a lot on lunch. I'd passed them a few times and looked then up on Yelp one day before finally deciding to give them a try. I'd waited so long since I find philly places in charlotte a big hit or miss. When I walked in around lunch there was a consistent flow of people dining and making take out orders. Not booming but busy enough to know they must at least be decent. I, against what they are most popular for, opted for the Philly Chicken with Provolone, light onions and peppers with fries. I also ordered the funnel cake sticks. My order was ready very quick. But I would've waited longer but the food was so good. The sandwich had the perfect balance of meat to bread. And the bread was toasted but not too crunch and not too soft. The fries were pretty good as well & I enjoyedbthatbtheybwerent too thin.jonestly I got so caught up in eating that I forgot to take pics of the fries and and funnel cake. The meal was delicious. The only gripe that I have is that the funnel sticks didn't have a sauce to dip them in. Caramel, chocolate, and a sweet cream option would complement these well. I am in here just about once a week for the funnel cake fries. I never tried them previously. However, on 3/28, I tried one and wanted to eat the whole bag. The restaurant was out of powered sugar, however, and added regular sugar to the bag and shook it up. It was pretty good. I am going to leave them alone going forward though while the kids can have them from time to time. Well... I really had high hopes for this place but sadly, I was pretty disappointed. So the reason for my visit to this establishment all came about because I didn't want to drive all the way to Eastway where Steak N Hoagie is, which is my usual spot for Cheesesteak. I walk in, the inside was nice I suppose. Didn't really pay much attention to the decor or the service, I was too hungry. The guy at the register was nice enough. Was having a conversation about something with another customer so... yeah. Anyway, I ordered the philly sub and added mayo. 9 bucks. Pretty much what I usually pay at Steak N Hoagie for a New Jersey cheesesteak. They finished pretty fast and there's glass where you can watch them cook your food. Immediately, I noticed the size of the sub when he handed me my bag. For $9, I expected a bigger sandwich honestly. Compared to my regular spot, this sub was really small but I digress. Anyway, I get home to eat and I wasn't really impressed. Ugh, I feel so bad but I was literally just ok. Nothing to write home about. The meat was pretty good.
