The city maintains a lovely little family pool and a nice lap pool. They are highly accessible and affordable and well-kept.

We have been here twice now, and both times my son and I had a blast !! It is super affordable,…read moreright next to the St. Paul police station- (so it feels very safe), plenty of parking, room to do different activities in separate pools, and did I mention the glizzys at the snack bar?! Only $8 for adults and kids under 2 years old are free! There is a couple mandatory 25 min breaks, but it's a good time to grab a bite to eat. The splash pad stays open if you get too hot or for it the little ones that can't sit still for very long! (Like my son lol). Come early if you want a foldable chair for sun bathing, the place fills up very quick, but there's always usually some room in the back grassy area for you to lay down a towel and cozy up with a good book. If you get hungry, run to the snack bar and they've got multiple options for hot dog toppings and even a meal deal with chips and a drink! The staff are always so kind and they also have life jacket rentals for FREE! (with admission) We will absolutely be spending more hot summer days here!

Dear Municipal Pool,…read more Thank you. I love you. See you next year. XOXO, Katherine B What is it that you want from your public pool? I want a fairly cheap entry fee and lots of seating and a decent sized pool. That's all. Highland has this, and more! Parking, shade, a decent bathroom and concessions. You can bring your own food in. Plenty of space for the little ones to play in the two small pools/splash pads. A good diving board for the bigger kids. (The drop slides aren't really drop slides per se, and they are best for shorter kids) A big water slide...that's truly only ok but who cares. A HUGE POOL. With a HUGE DEEP END. No lifejackets in the deep end, and still a large area where your tweens+ can easily touch. Bring a pool friendly throwing item. (no nerf, just light weight stuff that won't hurt if you get bonked. The lifeguards will tell you)

Parking is easy, which already sets it apart from most places in the area. The equipment is well-maintained, with plenty of machines and free weights so you're not waiting around. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help without being pushy. The locker rooms are spotless, with good showers and enough space, which makes getting in and out smooth. What I really appreciate is how family-friendly the whole place is. The kids' areas, classes, and pool setup make it a great option if you're trying to balance fitness and family time. It's hard to find a gym that truly gets both right -- but this one does. Overall, this YMCA is consistently reliable, clean, and well-run. Whether you're working out, taking classes, or bringing the kids, it's one of the best community gyms in the area. Highly recommend.

I love the sense of community at this location and, like I said, the extensive group fitness classes. One feature I really love about this location is Kid's Stuff! Caretakers can bring their children here for some childcare while they work out, take a shower, or generally have a break from childcare. The parking lot is great, it's an easy location to get to, the facilities are clean, the staff is inviting. I love the Y!

It isn't Great Wolf Lodge, it is a manageable size, and has all the things you need - including nachos with the terrible but delicious cheese (that is so wrong yet so right). My kids like bouncing back and forth between the pool with the slides (a walk-in kind) and the lap pool nearby that is more your traditional pool. Prices are reasonable. Playground, basketball, volleyball, yoga, exercise equipment, etc. are all offered and more. But it is the lap pool and swimming I'm writing about that is so awesome. A lightly chlorinated pool. That's right. They have a different filtration method here using sphagnum moss which significantly reduces the amount of chlorine in the water. There is nothing better then getting out of a pool and NOT smelling like a chlorine tablet. Less burning of the eyes and itching of the skin. A win all around. Plus they open @ 6:30am some days for you early morning risers and open it up from 5:30-7pm on other days (see website for schedule). Plus if you got the toddlers and young kids, there is the water park, 2 water slides, and a shallow pool to get them acclimated. Me likey.

The pool water and the pool area are vey comfortable for the swimmers and the family members waiting. They also have all of the Anne ties you might need such as showers, swim suit swimmers and plenty changing rooms. The one thing I don't love is that they advertise a 30 minute lesson but they don't usually start my daughter's class until about 5-6 min after the start of the hour but and exactly at 30 past the hour. Also, they have between 1-4 kids per plane, so that also limits how much swimming time they actually get. I wish there was more consistency.

The teachers are great, super friendly and I love the fact that you move up levels as soon as you pass all the skills - you don't have to have a mid session assessment like you do at Foss. Another great thing about Goldfish is the fact that you can sign up any time and I've been able to easily get both of my kids lessons in the same time slot. If you are looking for a great place for your kiddo to learn how to swim, look no further!!
