I wish I'd seen these reviews prior to making an appointment and wasting my time. I will NEVER return and I'm back on the hunt for a GI Doctor as I need one from an emergency digestive surgery years ago. I arrived at 245 for my appointment at 3. I was not brought back until 350 and then waited another 30 mins only to see the Nurse Practitioner! My first visit and it isn't with the Doctor! What. A. WASTE! Being that it was the end of the day I was rushed, no questions was asked about my history, and the minor issue I was having was completely ignored. If you're interested in weight loss using pills, etc, then this is the place for you but if you're a TRUE GI patient PLEASE do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! I AM! read more

Dr Bowden my brother's Terry a stroke patient had an appointment today @ 3:pm. He is smart and was able to answer the nurse questions. I completed his paperwork and was told I had to leave. This was my brother 1st visit and they told me over 65 old to leave go sit and wait in the hot heat. Why? I had proof of covid vaccinated. I told her to give me my paperwork and cancel. Why please make me understand why I was instructed to leave and sit in the heat. This is not a requirement at his other specialists. read more

Today I called the call center to schedule an appointment,and the receptionist was rude and had very poor customer service (she even called me a liar) because I stated that the phone lines were discounted when I tried to call on yesterday to schedule an appointment. (Not that I was upset, I was informing her so that she could let whomever know so that they want miss future business) instead she got a nasty attitude. Where do I begin? I have been very ill & was diagnosed with C-Diff a month ago. I thought I'd visit Dr. Bowden's office, on Monroe. Well I never got to see him! It's always a nurse practitioner! And from what I'm reading, a person rarely sees Dr. Bowden. My last visit, I was assured I'd see Dr. Bowden! Wrong!!! I have called the office & requested for a nurse to call me 2 different times ( concerning a very serious matter) & NEVER received a return call! I'll never go there again. Heads up people!! I DO NOT TRUST THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! I arrived at 8am. A lady signed in prior to me with the same appt time. There were people waiting when I arrived. A lady came at 8:30 with a 7:30 appt. The lady in front of me went to the back before people that were already waiting. The lady that was an hour late went back second. It took me until 10:13 to get to the back. I got weighed and put in freezing room#1. Someone's body and booty print was still on the paper on the table. SMH!!! The student MA removed it after I kept mentioning it. (No spray or wipe down done) I sat in the chair. At 10:39 Ms Harris came in. She introduced herself. She was wearing plain clothes like me. No scrub jacket or anything that supports her being a doctor or FNP. She stayed in the room maybe 4-5 minutes. I was asking a lot of questions and sharing my concerns. She didn't have much to say. I was scheduled for a procedure at 1pm with no food/drink after 12am for a 2 pm procedure. They SLOW AND THEN YOU STARVE ME ALL DAY TOO !! I AM NOT GOING !!! NEVER AGAIN !!!! I have been here three times so far and yes I read these reviews prior to going to my first visit. I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt and allow them to prove themselves before passing judgement. I also like to give a fair and honest review about my experiences because most places get an unfair review based on emotions and not facts. The facts for my case are that each visit has been the most pleasant experience with very caring individuals from check in to departure. From the receptionists to the medical assistants to the nurse practitioners all the way to Dr. Bowden himself. This is not just from my personal experience but I am very observant and noticed the treatment of fellow patients that was in my opinion very concerning and caring as well. I am always afraid when having any procedure done especially when anesthesia is involved. Being a former member of the medical field, I can say for a fact that these people are extremely caring and concerned about their patients well being. I always felt as though I was in great hands every time. By the way, for the reviews about time spent before being seen, the lobby is usually packed because your well being is a priority when you are in triage. I am almost always in some form of pain when I get there but they always put a smile on my face with the warm friendly personalities of the staff. read more

My family member had to go here because this is where she was referred given that fact that she has endured a lot of loss this year because of a cancer diagnosis. We thank GOD, she is now CANCER FREE! As a result of the Chemo she has been having a lot of gastric issues. She was referred by Christ Community (because she has been unable to work and retain insurance)to Dr. Bowden's clinic. IT WAS NOT HER FIRST CHOICE, we have heard the stories. Before arrival she was not informed that she needed $400 for a Colonoscopy and Colonic! The staff was very insensitive, they were short with my family member and dismissive. Because my family member received too much chemo and has a walking device the nurse practitioner asked, "why you got that walker" and "why you don't have no insurance"! My family member felt embarrassed because this is a new situation for her and a clear disregard for her unique journey. My family member has been a law abiding, overly employed citizen (in the social services field) for over 40 years. So she knows what professionalism is, how clients should be treated and appropriate beside manner. When discussing the colonic procedure the nurse practioner went on to ask my family member "can you get up on the table, cause you got to get up, you have to be able to step up". My family member explained to her that she could and tried to explain the purpose of the walker but the nurse wasn't hearing. All we can say is do your research and be prepared! If you are indigent and impaired take your feelings off of your shoulder becuase you will be disrespected!! They are judgemental and very insensitive!! First,I drove from Pine Bluff, AR. to Memphis ,Tennessee to walk in and get terrible service from the Nurse Practitioner. I let them know at the time of scheduling that I would be driving a distance and I didn't want just a consultation that day, I was prepared to stay all day. Well needless to say that didn't happen. The Nurse Practitioner was very rude to me, and I hope I don't see her again. She was undermining me and basically turning me away, as if I was making everything up. However, even though I wasn't satisfied with my first visit I will be returning for another service which is a colonic. After this visit, if this doesn't work I probably wont return, but I will voice my opinion and not wait to report it. I believe this is probably a great place to go. However it only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch! read more
