So I told them to put me on the list and that I was going to try to reach another locksmith as I was supposed to be at work! I did call the other locksmith in the area, no answer for one, and the other one answered and told me that his technician would be reaching out to me. When the 45 minutes came up, Tom had called me back from Hoosier Locksmith and said that he was five minutes away, he showed up, he was professional, courteous, and very nice. Overall, even helped me look for my keys in the car when they were not where I thought they were going above and beyond. Their labor rate must be between $900 -1000.00 per hour Then gave a $674.00 quote for a new opener and asked if I wanted to replace the opener. As he did not actually do any kind of service or repair, what was I charged $150.00 for? Obviously, I will not be using this company again as they lack ethics and integrity. Garage door openers are about $140.00 - 175.00 at most hardware stores. Why would I pay this company almost $700.00? Update: No one stated that I would be charged $150.00 just to have your person show up and do nothing. How do you stand by that kind of 'pricing'. That is called fraud and unethical. Nathan C obviously is okay with ripping off a potential customer. His comments prove that the company doesn't care about customer satisfaction, value or integrity.

Sean was very friendly and courteous - he called ahead to see if I could accept an early arrival, and he finished the work just before his original arrival window was set to start, which made it easier for me to keep to my work call schedule. He did an inspection, talked me through what was needed and why, and taught me how to maintain the hinges and spring myself going forward. When I commented offhand that I ought to sweep out the garage, he offered to use his leaf blower to do it for me, and made sure to do it at the end before he left. I felt respected and not at all pressured or upsold, and I felt very confident having this gentleman working in my home.

This is a very good electrical supply store. Two things really make this place stand out: first,…read morethe staff is very helpful and not bothered by a small order, and two the store is available for retail customers. There are many electrical suppliers out there, but most only work wholesale with contractors ... which leaves us do-it-yourself/retail customers shut out. We can't buy 100 of each thing we need, and sometimes we need something special. I was fixing the piezo-electric starter on a stove unit, and easily found the problem ... a wire had pulled out of the disconnect. Now you can go to one of the big-box stores (Home Depot, Menards, Lowes) to find a disconnect, but they really cater to the middle of the road products, not the specialty stuff. I got some disconnects there, but they were too wide (see picture) ... I needed a mini-disconnect. After calling around to a number of places and finding they really only dealt with wholesale/contractor business, I found Helsel-Jepperson (HJ) out in Chicago Heights on Halsted. I brought my too-wide disconnect in and said I needed a narrower one - unlike the big-box stores that had only one size, HJ had two in stock that were narrower. So long story short, if you have an electrical part need and cannot find it at the big-box stores, HJ should be your next call. My part only cost 34 cents, but they didn't act like I was a bother. I bought ten so I don't have to return, and was really impressed with the staff and service. Highly recommended.

He eventually came to add a light bulb to the unit but I noticed once he left again that he had stolen my lightbulb from another light fixture in the garage to put in the opener.
