Phi gets a rare 5-stars from me because I think it's the BEST place in DFW to get Vietnamese Iced Coffee. (and I've tried them all) I like the Vietnamese Coffee from Phi because it doesn't have the weird "inauthentic" taste like most of the places in the Metroplex. It actually tastes like good ol' Vietnamese Coffee. I don't think I have ever sat down and eaten a meal at Phil. I always just get the Cà Phê Sữa Đá to go Speaking of food, the Cơm Tấm at Phi is pretty good too. The portion is smaller than other Vietnamese places but the taste is better than a lot of them. Every time I come to Dallas, my boyfriend takes me to Phi Coffee & Tea. This time I ordered the Cacao Sua Trung (Egg Cocoa Milk). It was not my favorite drink, but I wanted to try something we haven't tried before. It tasted like chocolate milk, so it wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting. The cocoa flavor definitely overpowered everything else that was in the drink. It was not busy inside. Our drinks were made within a few minutes and we were on our way shortly afterwards. The plaza itself is a bit busy, especially on the weekend. Parking shouldn't be an issue though. read more

This was an interesting experience. Phi Coffee and Tea is located in a little food court, but the stalls of the food court all seem to be owned by the same people. We came in for lunch expecting to be able to order a bunch of things from different places, but Phi Coffee was the only place open (the first stall). We walked down and saw some stalls that seemed closed and the last "stall" was a vietnamese AYCE hotpot place. So we walked back to Phi Coffee and ordered from there. They have a menu of soups and rice dishes and drinks. They also have a to-go style deli counter with hot food (like Panda Express). Those dishes looked good too, but we were overwhelmed and ordered from the posted menu. The cashier was friendly and gave some recommendations. My brother got the fried chicken rice plate and I got the pho. We also ordered some of the fried appetizers and a spring roll with shrimp cake. There was a self-serve water container and I got the corn milk from the refrigerator. The fried appetizers were really good and I liked the dipping sauce for the spring roll. It was a little spicy. The pho was flavorful and had a lot of meat in it. It had a combination of beef toppings: thicker slices of brisket, thinly sliced beef and beef balls. That's usually what I order at restaurants at home, so I was happy with it. It came with fresh bean sprouts and thai basil. There was enough to take home for dinner later. I Love the vibe and decor of the place. It feels like a trendy place to hangout with friends and take photos. The place plays really loud music and it does get annoying. It is a tea and coffee shop so you have to wait in line if you plan to eat here and seat yourself. I had the #1 Combo Phi which was a broken rice dish with BBQ pork and a fried egg. The combo includes the green Thai tea. My food came out but they forgot my drink so I had to get back up and remind them. My green thai tea tasted refreshing and delicious. It was perfect. My entree however was bad. The meat was very chewy and super sweet. The flavor was there but the sweetness was overpowering. The fish sauce(?) had a gooey texture which threw me off. It was more of a sweet and sour sauce but fused with fish sauce. It was too sweet which made the dish even worse with the meat. Egg was cooked perfectly to my liking though. Nice convenient little place next to the Asian market. The restaurant and designed to look like a little alley with street vendors. I had the classic street breakfast from Vietnam, Bo Ne which translates to dodge beef. It's name come from you slightly dodging the hot skillet has it is placed in front of you. It was very flavorful, the beef was marinated well and sauce that was left in the hot skillet as the meat was cooking was perfect for dipping the fresh bread that came with the meal. The meal also came with a sunny side up egg, French fries, Vietnamese ham, and a small salad. Not many place offers Bo Ne. read more

We wanted to order at the counter, they told us to have a seat But then no one even came out or brought a menu. So we moved tables to get their attention. Finally. After sitting here for a while. Someone came out to our table, even though they watched us have a seat at the table. They kept forgetting the bowls, condiments, etc. we hurried up and ate and left after finishing our lunch in 15 mins. All of their milk teas are overly sweetened. I even asked for lightly sweetened and still Way toooooo sweet! The server was too lazy to fix the drink. So he splashed a tiny bit more black tea. And told me it should it be fine now. It was not. The only reason I even give them a 3 star because their xoi dishes are great for a quick lunch. Their banh mi are ok. But I would not buy those here. We stood at the register for a good 3-4 minutes, while the cashier/staff was standing right in front of us and proceeded to completely ignore us. You won't find a lot of places that serves good "ốc" like this in Arlington (in fact, the other place that I used to go has been closed down due to lack of popularity). I can safely say that Phi serves very authentic ốc, with my personal favorite: ốc hương. If you haven't had it before, it's a type of river snail that was cooked, sautéed, and mixed with your choice of sauce (which can be tamarind, garlic butter, etc.) The dish is always my go-to at Phi and it is super flavorful and full of texture. The only thing is that it can be a bit expensive for its portion size but then again, it's hard to find authentic food like this in Arlington. Besides the ốc dishes, Phi also serves other common Vietnamese dishes such as cơm tấm (broken rice served with chargrilled pork) and hủ tiếu Mỹ Tho (noodle soup with Mỹ Tho styled toppings). Highly recommend you order one of these dishes for your own and another ốc dish to share with your party. read more

A lot of Vietnamese staple dishes and comfort food which I love. My favorite is the Nui Xao (Shaken beef with macaroni noodles). I wish they gave us more than 5 pieces of beef but the flavors are yummy. The beef however can be a hit or miss sometimes because you can tell they use cheap quality meat. Sometimes it gets really tough rather than soft. Mi Quang is also good there, and their rice dish with pork ribs are amazing! They do charge $5 for a side of soup with your rice which is ridiculous given all the other Vietnamese restaurants offer soup with all their rice dishes. Overall, it's a cute hangout place with sofas separate from the dining area and I believe they have live music with local aspiring musicians on the weekends. Good atmosphere and good food. read more

It's date hop night!! We've got a babysitter and this is our first spot. I got the Thai green Tea and it was DELICIOUS! or was very creamy but had more of a tea flavor which I enjoy. My husband got the Sea Cafe, and he enjoyed it very much. If you're a fan of Vietnamese Coffee you roll enjoy this drink. We also decided to venture out and try #26. Pork guts cooked in 5 spices. We opted for the noddle version. While I did not partake in the pig guts my husband thoroughly enjoyed them. I did like the noodles and the extra sauce they give you on the side. I haven't tried the food here yet, but I will the next time I come! I got the Thai green milk tea and the winter melon cream tea. The Thai green milk tea was a 5/5! The wintermelon cream tea however was incredibly sweet and I have a sweet tooth but i had to add milk at home to dilute the sugar. The flavor was good but the sweetness was too much. I don't recommend getting actual boba here though. The texture is hard and chewy so they might've given out old boba. The crystal boba is nice alternative though. There is quite a spread of different teas and coffees, and usually very minimal wait. My husband pops by here with coffee and surprises me at home, but stopped recently when the young man behind the counter kept touching his face and hair over and over again. Please avoid the Phi Coffee and Tea Hello, readers, reviewers, and the owner of this Phi Coffee and Tea establishment. I made this review to express my dissatisfaction with my dining experience at Phi Coffee and Tea. I'd want to discuss three topics: the attitude of the servers, the food, and the tip system. First and foremost, the server/cashier was quite unpleasant. According to my experience, he refused that my steak was still rare without consulting with the chef, and he did not apologize or say anything after consulting the chef regarding the unusual steak. Furthermore, when I requested the tea without ice since I cannot drink cold, he still placed ice in my drink, and when I showed him the receipt that said my tea should not have ice in it, he just used the spoon to remove all the ice, despite the fact that the beverage was still chilly (and still no apologizing from him). Regarding the food, the steak was rare, and the dish tasted bland, disgusting, and not as great as other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. I also attached a picture of the rare steak to support my point. Moreover, the tip procedure is weird because I had to pay for the tip before the severing performed. It didn't make sense because the tip value would be determined by how the servers/cashiers treated their clients. In this nation, they just bend the true meaning of the tip. Finally, I recommend that everyone avoid this place if you do not want to lose money or have a poor experience like mine. We ordered snails in tamarind sauce, bbq pork spring rolls, sticky rice with Chinese sausage and shredded pork, and Banh Bot Chen (Vietnamese Fried Rice Cake). OM NOM NOM They have such a wide range of menu items that there has to be something that you like here. I've had the banh mi thap cam or combination sandwhich and it was really good with special pate and a dash of some kind of sauce that really brings the flavors out. YUM. I just kind of wish that the bread was toasted a little more and that the wait time for sandwhiches were a little shorter. The hot vit lon xao me or fertalized duck egg in tamarind sauce was really interesting because it was my first time having it with taarind sauce. It was savory with a zing from the tamarind. Overall interesting to try. The Oc phi nuong pho mai or baked sea snail with cheese was okay, mainly because we couldn't taste the cheese so that was a let down. The bun reiu cua was very flavorful and good though. If you don't have time for the dine in food I also recommend their pre-prepared foods. They have deep fried banh bao which is super yummy, banh trang tron which seems to be a real favorite but isn't really for me, and various other things like soy milks. Yum. I've been here ALOT with friends and parents, tried all their combos that comes with drink. My current favorite is the beef stirred fried noodle but I feel like there's better dish! I see people get snail/oc here but with the pricing I be thinking twice ya know. Overall the combos all taste decent, serving size appropriate and taste decent. I also like to grab their fried stuffed dough (banh bao chien) literally my favorite junk. Although the price is high, I never think twice about their egg coffee. I'm addicted to that thing, the coffee is strong enough for me and when mixed with the condense milk and egg...it's just the right amount of sweet and coffee. First thing you notice when you walk into this place...the decor. Modern and cute (especially their lighting fixtures)--not so typical of a Viet coffee shop/banh mi stand. They serve banh mi (sandwiches), a small variety of noodle and rice dishes, coffee, and tea. They have the white tapioca here (which I am still trying to get used to. I still like the original one better). Milk tea and winter melon teas are pretty good. I like WOW's matcha tea better than Phi's though. We also got the Vietnamese street food - rice paper salad. It was decent, kinda tangy. For $5 they give you a decent portion. It's one of those dishes OGs would enjoy snacking with a beer. Banh bot chien (fried flour and egg) was pretty good too. The biggest hit during our visit was their fried banh baos. My friends loved it so much they bought some to-go. I wasn't a fan of it before (when I tried the ones from Houston), but this one was pretty good. I was told to try their Thai green tea and their popular duck soup next time.
