Called Pioneer Plumbers to come and fix my faucet and unclog the drain in my apartment. They were…read morevery professional and came on time. My kitchen faucet hot water had very low to no pressure. I had the plumber come over to clear the build up in the pipes. He also unclogged the bathroom sink for me. As well, I had him look at my garburator. My garburator had a small crack on the side and it worried me a bit. The plumber said it is just the outside but the inside is still working fine. So there is no need to replace it yet. The plumber was very professional and he did not charge extra to having to come downtown.

I called Rodger early on Thursday morning and he stated he could attend between 1230-2:30 however he would call when he could attend. True to his word he called just before 12:30 and was here within 20 minutes. We found Rodger to be very thorough, polite, professional and easy to communicate with. He knew exactly what our problem was and had it fixed and parts replaced within an hour. He was even so considerate as to ask if we had any other problems and we had a minor problem with an upstairs bathroom. He fixed the problem quickly and no charge. Got Nifty plumbing and heating to attend to my heat pump system which is not functioning as per…read morenormal. First technician came with minimal tool or preparation, spent time looking around and informed me that the capacitor is faulty, need to come back next day because he hasn't a replacement capacitor. Next day, however another chap turned up, attached a gas pressure metering device to the condenser, but did not refer to the capacitor. He guessed instead ( 90% sure, he said) the fault of the heat pump is due either to the TXV valve or the coil, and it's going to be labour intensive and expensive to rectify. Given the contradictory diagnosis from the 2 technicians and their somewhat uncertain demeanour, I ended up paying $ 365 for the cost of their service call and 2 hours of fruitless "lookaround".

Jas, our plumber was outright professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions giving me a scope of the work and kept me updated on what we found out as he tried to determine the source of the leak. I recall I asked a quotation before from a different plumbing service and they gave a grandiose estimate of what it would take to get it repaired including the stained drywall ceiling. Easily in the 5-6K range. I'm so glad I did not try them as it seemed to me they just saw me as a potential 'victim' for maximizing their earnings. My faith in reasonable and professional plumbing services has been restored. There are people and services like Jas who give you clear, professional, cost-sensitive and empathetic service doing what it takes to reassure you and get it done.
