Now, I know I normally write reviews on restaurants and such but I have to give a very necessary positive nod to a company that really helped me out during a renovation. I was the project manager supervising the renovation of a townhouse in the Columbia, Maryland area that has a pest infestation the likes that God himself rarely sees...and believe me, that's saying something. Every square inch (or centimeter for the metrically inclined among us) of the house had some kind of 6-legged, non-rent paying squatter, crawling around, playing cards, checking on their eggs or complaining about a bad call made by the referee against the Ravens in their most recent game against the Steelers. Needless to say when you walked into the home, two things crawled - your skin and the walls. I went through over 32 Raid insect foggers...no, ladies and gentlemen. That's not a typo. I did indeed say 32, in addition to 7 cans of Raid bug spray and I was only able to kill a tenth of what was in there. I felt like Sigourney Weaver marooned on a planet 75 light-years from Earth, positioned near the queen alien's nest with only a slingshot, 7 rocks, a mosquito net and two granola bars. I called a few pest control companies in the area, some of whom were booked solid and one who absolutely would not take the job based on the description alone (gee...whaddaya know - a pest control company that doesn't want to do pest control.) When I got to Phenom, Laurie (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) answered in a voice so polite and possessed a demeanor so jovial, she'd make a Chick-Fil-A employee seem like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. She patiently listened as I gave her the synopsis of my problem. She then connected me with the supervisor who didn't just send employees out. He came out to the site PERSONALLY, gave an in-depth onsite assessment, and promptly with his associate began the first treatment. He informed me that there would be multiple treatments and that it would take some time, but the schedule was adhered to and the price was quite fair. Long story short, the home looks as though it NEVER had a pest infestation of any kind. And talk about professionalism - they were willing to spray each adjacent unit to ensure the problem did not migrate to the next homeowners over. Now THAT is the definition of good service! I'm not just making this review to make it seem as if they are a great company. I know for a fact that they are a great company, staffed by people who are courteous, professional, and do what they say they are going to do. Phenom is a company I trust and will definitely work with them on any and all future projects. They excel at removing pests... ...perhaps I should call them about a certain ex of mine who is proving to be somewhat troublesome. Might need more spray, though... read more

We were impressed with Brandon's expertise, professionalism and thorough work when he came to our home for our termite inspection. I complained about the service and requested certain techs. That did not happen. Some of the techs they sent to me had been fired for not working but the want more money. They even acknowledged that the work was not done but ask for more money.What am I paying for someone to visit my house. They are rude and aggressive basically unprofessional. Save your money! They call in advance to see if there are any additional services that you need and even if you don't let them know in advance they are ready to do whatever you need when they arrive. Our technician just showed up and asked if there was anything else he could do and I had forgot to call about hornets nests that were starting to form in the eaves of our house (40 ft off the ground). The door to door salesman appeared at my door that was extremely pushy. You have to be aware of their selling tactic and their discount program for people who leave good reviews online for their services. I was quoted one price and then I was told all about how wonderful the company was and how happy people are and I should look at all the great reviews online. As I pushed back the price all the sudden dropped.. one of the discounts would be available if I posted good reviews about the company before I even got a service done. So if you're considering this company you should be very weary of any online review because people are bribed to post positive reviews. I would have potentially considered their services yet I cannot make an educated decision because the company itself admits that it bribes people to leave positive reviews. I personally don't support a company that has shady business practices like this. read more

Don't waste your time and money with Phenom Pest Protection company. I hired them and got their service contract specifically to get rid of an ant problem I had in my home and it was a complete waste of almost $500!!! They were totally incompetent! During my year contract I called them several times to tell them the spray they put down didn't work and we are still seeing ants. They would come out and spray but that same evening I would see ants in the SAME area that they sprayed. This song and dance went on for a year-they were NEVER able to reduce or eliminate the ant problem. Save your $500 and go to Home Depot because they're a waste of time!!!! read more

I emailed shortly before a scheduled visit and they were quick with a response of an issue I was having with tiny bugs. Isaiah came a day early which I had received a phone call prior from the company that they were available if my schedule fit there's. He came and observed the issue we were having and then explained what he was going to do to fix and prevent further issues. He sprayed inside and out with safe chemicals. Also everything else for normal maintenance etc that this company provides. Appreciate the great business and friendliness of the staff. Salesman was riding around the neighborhood trying to get people to sign up via lies. Told me they do more than my current company, Frontline, and that they would be cheaper. Come to find out they do no t do more and they are over $100 more in cost. For what they claim to do that is different, its a bold face lie. While they use a spray, frontline uses a powder. Honesty is the best option and when i tried to cancel my service they gave e the run around until i told them i will sue them and i had the entire conversation on my ring doorbell. Frontline is far better with far better customer service. Dont be fooled by the "We are local" lines. Local doesnt mean better. read more

Phenom has a group of very hardworking and friendly folks. I have a creek in my backyard so needless to say we have a ton of mosquitos. I never have issues with mosquitos or ticks anymore during the Summer with Phenom. It's also safe for kids and for my two small dogs. I definitely recommend this company.
