I've been to many nail salons (you can click on my profile and see all my positive reviews) but this place has to be the worst one yet. The beautiful natural nails I grew out are completely ruined. The moment I sat down, I had a bad feeling. It took them 1 hr to remove acrylics and they drilled my nail bed so badly that they were thin. Then, they cut down my natural nails all the way to the flesh. They continued to use harsh drills on my nails where I repeatedly had to pull away to avoid getting cut or burnt. All my nails were unevenly filed. I've also never had a nail salon apply the color gel without the base coat which explains why all my nails are so bumpy and uneven. Im so sad at the poor state of my nails. I'll have to wait another 6 months to recover my nails. I still tipped 20% for the $55 acrylic full set but I think people should reconsider coming here.

Jenny was unfriendly and seemed irritated throughout the appointment. I specifically requested that my cuticles not be cut, yet she repeatedly cut and filed them with a drill, causing discomfort despite my repeated requests to be more careful. I also had difficulty with the nail color selection. I chose a warm orange shade, but the color applied was a bright orange. When I pointed out the difference and asked for help finding a similar warm shade, Jenny appeared frustrated and told me to choose another color myself. Since the display colors did not accurately match the actual polish colors, this was difficult. Eventually, she suggested a darker red shade, which I accepted simply to move forward. Although she repeatedly assured me that she would "take care of me," the service did not reflect that. I even requested that someone else perform my pedicure, but she insisted on doing it herself. Once again, my cuticles were cut too closely. While I do not get my nails done often, I have had much better experiences elsewhere. Basic services such as properly cleaning the hands and feet, filing rough heels, and applying lotion seemed rushed or overlooked. Overall, the service felt minimal and far below what I expected from a salon called Luxury Nails. Sadly, this experience left me disappointed and unlikely to return.

I didn't know how sensitive my nails would be during and after the appointment. I've watched videos of acrylics though. I had Sunny do my gel acrylics. Sunny was nice and very chatty. Sunny only used the drill to file my cuticles. He didn't use a cuticle pusher at all, just kept changing the sanding band bits. He used the cuticle clippers after and cut me on a few nails, didn't apologize or acknowledge me bleeding. He wiped my bleeding thumb off with a dirty towel. The fumes for the primer and powder was super strong! I had to breathe through my mouth. The door wasn't open and no fans were on. My nose burned when I breathed through it, that's how strong the fumes were! I showed him the picture of color nails I wanted twice. When it came to picking the color, he said he had the perfect color. I tried chiming in that the color pink was too light for me. However, he didn't hear me and started applying the color he chose. It was too late to be angry, disappointed or annoyed about the color. The session was about 80 minutes. My acrylic gel nails cost $45 but I tipped and paid $60. I don't know how clean the place is, the nail grinder was put away like normal and the towel was still on the table afterwards. I don't know if I'd do this again, the experience was shocking to my nails and me. The nails are pretty but not what I wanted.

I've moved around to different cities over the years, tried other nail salons, and somehow I ALWAYS end up coming back here. Because once you find a nail tech/salon that actually does clean, solid, GOOD nails, you don't let go! And when I say clean, I mean CLEAN. No chunky acrylic underneath, no sloppy edges, no nails that look rushed. My nails always come out fresh, even, and exactly how I want them. Another huge plus: they don't push services on you. Their pricing is fair, they're honest, and they actually care about giving you a good experience rather than upselling you on everything. Henry is also such a gem. He's owned this location for **15 YEARS**, which says a LOT. He's incredibly kind, humble, personable, and always makes you feel welcome. If there's ever something you're not happy with, he's more than willing to listen and make it right. THAT kind of customer service is rare these days. I'll sometimes walk in, and yes, they can get busy -- but I usually just call ahead to see what their availability looks like. They're always respectful of my time, and I try to be respectful of theirs . AND they just renovated the salon!! New lighting, fresh paint, new equipment -- the whole place looks SO good. It feels fresh, clean, and modern, and honestly, they deserve all the support for continuing to invest in their business and the community. After five years of being a customer, I can confidently say: I haven't found a better nail salon. During my pedicure, the technician accidentally nicked me hard enough to draw blood. Accidents happen, but there was no apology. When I politely asked if she could disinfect the area with alcohol since my skin had been broken, she acted annoyed that I even asked. During my manicure, I simply asked for her opinion on how to fix a broken nail and which color she thought would look best. Instead of being helpful, she looked visibly irritated. Later, I asked if she could apply one extra coat of polish, and she rolled her eyes. I actually found myself apologizing for making a simple request, which says a lot about how uncomfortable the interaction was. The saddest part is that the staff often make you feel like you're inconveniencing them simply by asking for the service you're paying for. It feels as though they're doing you a favor instead of providing customer service. No customer should feel guilty for politely asking a question or requesting something reasonable. This isn't an isolated experience either. Last month, my husband was also accidentally nicked during his appointment. We understand accidents happen, but it's the lack of care, empathy, and professionalism afterward that is most disappointing. As long-time customers, we expected to be treated with kindness and respect. Instead, we left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I yelped around hair salon in the area and I found this hidden gem in Rowland Heights! It's located in a "Dolphin Bay plaza" (even it's gone now..boohoo) and attached right next to the bakery shop in the corner. First impression may not wow you but I really liked the service and the price. Tina is Korean born Chinese living in the US who speaks Korean, Chinese, and English so you can communicate with her at your own convenience :) I showed her a picture of what I wanted- a short bob- and here is a picture of the result and I like it a lot. I know it's probably a simple cut compared to other requests, but all it matters is that I'm satisfied with it! As mentioned in the beginning, yes, it's a $20 hair cut. I washed my hair prior to the cut and she didn't charge an extra $5 for the wash. I will see Tina again soon :)

The lady won't talk much to you so don't expect a long conversation but she will pay real good attention to every detail when it comes to cutting hair whether it's a treatment, haircut, hair dye, perm whatever it is she is professional at what she does. She also gives her advice first of what can be done to your hair, but also listens back at what you also want. I washed my own hair before going, and basically went to get my old curls and frizz out from my hair straightened. Had a bit of a hair cut just to get rid of split ends but total cost me $45 for everything and that includes a treatment too and tip. I was so impressed, not only was that a bargain but my hair has been straight for the whole week now and I wash my hair everyday. I spent 3hrs there because I really had some curls and frizz that I needed to get rid of - last minute appointment over the phone and she accommodated me at the same time. All I can say is not only does she find you ways to save money but she's also probably the owner and soooo sweet. I always have the best experience when I do my hair here. They just opened up their own place in this area, but I've been going to this place for about 7 years. I would come back here from college to get my eyebrows done just because Laiwa knows her away around Asian eyes. Laiwa and Priscilla are very responsive and attentive. While they are working on you, they will ask whether you like the direction they are going. I'm particularly sensitive about getting my haircut too short (bad experiences with previous barbers) but Priscilla checks in with you to make sure that final look is what you want. Laiwa and Priscilla remember what you like on repeat visits. I highly recommend if you are tired of shopping around salons because once you come the first time, you'll have already scheduled a second.
