If I could give it a 4.5 stars, I would. I still like Shear Artistry, and will come again. Just a psa, be sure to ask if any question is a charge. I was asked "do you want your neck too", the service was facial waxing, so I figured face/neck was the same (I had little hair on my neck btw, which is why I've never thought of it as another area) so I said yes, please. Come to know afterwards, there was a $9 charge for neck threading... I didn't know there would be a charge, it was not mentioned when she asked (and I'll take partial responsibility for not asking myself if it cost extra, I've never had that asked before so I thought it wasn't needed). This was an appointment I made, specifically for facial waxing, so I was not aware of such. Amongst a few other things, which I am letting go...this unknown charge is what pushed me over the edge to knock down .5 stars. I just didn't appreciate how things ended. She's definitely a perfectionist when it comes to rod placements and if you show her a pic of you want she will defintely deliver. Please be aware when you get a perm to not wash it for 72 hours. I come approximately every two months to get a trim and touch up my hair and Jennifer always does an amazing job. She is very good at coloring and the bayalage she does is perfect! Quick note before I review: the location on Yelp is inaccurate. It's located on the cross street of Diamond Bar Blvd and Golden Springs in the shopping center that has the East West Bank, across from the Chevron gas station. I called them up when I got lost and they were really sweet about point me in the right direction. So I'd been looking for a place nearby to get my eyebrows threaded, and every other place I checked out was shady. Anyone who knows me knows I do not play about my brow game, so I look for a place that knows their business. Shears is it. I got in and the receptionist was really sweet, took my name and had me write my info down. She immediately directed me to Sonia. Sonia was also really nice (and uh--confident about that brow threading game) She immediately said to me, "It's you're first time here huh, I can tell." Lol! I couldn't help but laugh. She told me they'd been there for 20 years and that they do it all- cut, color, brows, sell products, makeup, you name it. I didn't give her any direction on my brows and they turned out fabulous. I felt sassier already! Sonia told me about flok, the app that they're part of that gives its members discounts and notifies them of their happy hour days and deals, and has a cyber punch card, where your 10th threading is free! When I went to pay, the receptionist helped to make sure I had the right app and got me all set up and helped me punch my card, and taught me how the app worked. It was a great experience and I'm honestly gunna be a regular here, no doubt about it! read more
