I came to Sportsbook in Bishop Arts on Saturday specifically to watch the Rolly/Teo boxing match…read morewith three of my business partners, and after this experience, I will not be coming back. From the beginning, our waitress had a terrible attitude. When I asked if they had non-alcoholic beer, her response was basically, "It's a bar... no." I then asked if they had juice instead of soda, and again she told me, "It's a bar, we don't have juice." That made no sense to me because bars normally carry different juices for mixed drinks. It wasn't even necessarily that they didn't have what I wanted--it was the dismissive attitude every time I asked a simple question. Then I asked about wings. She told me they only sell them in 6-piece orders, and if I wanted more, I had to order another 6-piece. I asked if they offered something like 6, 10, or 15 wings where the price per wing gets a little cheaper as you order more. She said no because their cooks have to separate every order into six pieces. The four of us own a restaurant, and we had never heard that explanation before, but okay. I also ordered nachos and politely asked her to tell the cook not to go crazy with the cheese because I only wanted a little. She told me she couldn't tell him that because she didn't want me complaining if I barely got any cheese. I specifically told her, "That's fine. I don't want that much cheese. Just please tell him a little bit of cheese." Even a simple food request somehow turned into an argument. I placed the food order around the beginning of the 5th round of the fight. The ENTIRE fight ended, and I still didn't have my food. When I finally saw her and asked for an update, instead of simply checking on it or apologizing for the wait, she told me, "You're waiting just like 30 other people." Again, completely unnecessary attitude. Then came the bill. My two items were $12 each, so I was expecting $24 plus tax. Instead, the payment reader showed $38.16. She seemed hesitant to show me the screen, and when I finally saw the charges, I noticed an additional $6 charge listed under some nickname/abbreviation I didn't recognize. I asked what it was. She repeated the name instead of explaining it, so I told her I still didn't know what that meant. She finally said it was gratuity. So now we're at $30 before tax, but somehow the total was $38.16. I knew the remaining amount wasn't simply sales tax, and by that point I was so tired of the attitude and the entire experience that I gave her $40 and left. The food finally came and was mid at best, but honestly, the food wasn't even the biggest problem. The lack of customer service and the waitress's attitude ruined the entire experience. If you're automatically adding gratuity, the least a customer should receive is decent service and a clear explanation of every charge on the bill. There are way too many places in Dallas with better food, better service, and employees who don't act irritated because a customer asks a question. I only came because my business partners wanted to watch the fight here. I normally watch boxing at home, and after this experience, that's exactly what I'll go back to doing. last time at Sportsbook in Bishop Arts.

Whether you're there for games, tournaments, or training sessions, the environment feels well-run and family-friendly. The layout makes it easy to navigate, and there's plenty of space for both players and spectators, which makes events much more comfortable compared to many other local venues. The courts/fields are well-maintained and the facility gives off a professional feel without being intimidating. Staff is generally helpful and keeps things running on schedule, which is especially important during busy tournament weekends. Parking and access are also relatively smooth, even when multiple events are happening at once. Overall, it's a solid venue that balances competitive sports energy with a clean, well-managed environment. Great spot for both athletes and families spending the day watching games.

Dark, noisy pub atmosphere inside. All small round counter-height and 4-top square tables inside were occupied. Although they had misters on over the patio tables; it was too hot (100F+) to sit on those outdoor tables. Plenty of small outdoor tables unoccupied at 6:30 pm. No host/hostess was present but a couple of waitresses came to start us with drinks. Draft and other beer, wine and alcohol choices were available. Guinness of course. All 3 of us ordered the fish (cod) and chips plate for our dinners. The 2 piece plate $14, the 3 piece plate $17. The large plank fries ( chips) were great. They were cooked crisp and served hot. Excellent, beer-battered and generous-sized, chunky cod pieces. Best fish n chips ever! I didn't check out the restroom. Trivia night was being played. The microphone was difficult to discern. Plenty of ambient noise from the tables and bar stools made it practically impossible to hear the conversations at our small and intimate table. I will return (with earplugs) perhaps to try their Kuby's sourced German plate. Definitely will be back when I crave an excellent fish n chips.

Since the business was actively running the ad, we assumed the promotion was valid and decided to check it out today (2/7/25). When we arrived, there were about 15 staff members standing around and only a handful of patrons. We took a seat at the bar and were given the regular menu. When I asked about the happy hour menu, the bartender simply said, "We don't do happy hour," and walked away. Confused, my sister pulled up the exact ad that was still running on Instagram. The staff then informed us that the promotion had been offered by a former GM who left last week, and rather than honoring the ad or even apologizing for the confusion, they dismissed our concern entirely. It's disappointing when a business pays for advertising but fails to update or manage their promotions properly. If an offer is no longer valid, it should be removed from social media rather than misleading potential customers. Unfortunately, due to this experience, we chose to take our business elsewhere. I hope Backyard takes this as an opportunity to improve communication and ensure their marketing aligns with what they actually offer.

Pulled up to a parking lot in Bishop Arts District which is a good thing in that neighborhood because parking is a beast. I arrived before my group so I could not get a seat started. I waited in the car for 30min for my group to arrive. Once they did, we were seated. There staff were nice and gave us menus while we waited and we took photos in their entrance with the bush wall with angel wings. Once seated inside near the patio, we placed our order. We took note of the mandatory 18% gratuity on all groups of 5 or more at the top of the menus. Our waitress seemed new and had not tried much so she couldn't make recommendations. Our drinks came out first and the food in an appropriate time after. like I said, the drinks and food were delicious and the star of the show! The DJ played good music and definitely had us engaged. The building was up to code but gave me historic vibes were they didn't want to or can't make full renovations but it's a bar/grill and looks like a man decorated and not an interior designer. Fun place, clean, but also needs a professional cleaner to come in once a month to spruce up the place.
