Awesome new halal Thai place in Sacramento! Loved their fish cake, fried rice, chicken satay, mango sticky rice! Will come back again for more. Great and attentive service as well.

After a long weekend of driving, my husband and I decided to use up our Uber Eats credit since we were both too tired to cook. I came across this place on the Uber Eats app and noticed they had BOGO deals on a few of their dishes. It is a Halal Thai place so we were interested in how the food would be like here since we have never seen a fusion like this before. We ended up ordering majority of it so that way we had food to put together our lunchboxes for work for the week. We got 2 orders of Pad Thai (Chicken and Tofu), 2 orders of Drunken Noodles (Chicken and Tofu), 2 orders of Egg Rolls, 2 orders of Chicken Tikka Kabab, 2 orders of Thai Tea, and 2 orders of Vanilla Ice Cream. As you can see, we got 2 orders of everything because that was the beauty of their BOGO deal on Uber Eats! All of this was about $150 but we only paid around $65! Definitely a steal and so worth it! We picked up the food and took it home and the food was still pretty hot. Even the ice cream wasn't as melted. We ate a little bit of everything and it was all good! Given the fact that this place was a Halal Thai fusion, the Medium spice level was way too spicy for me. 1 of the Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai orders we did a Mild spice level and the other Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai we did a Medium spice level. If you aren't able to handle spice like me, definitely stick to the Mild spice level or no spice at all. I typically can handle Medium but the Medium spice level here was way too much for me so I will probably stick with the Mild spice level here from now on the next time we order from here. Overall and despite me not being able to handle the Medium spice level, all the food has a very satisfying taste and made us full for the rest of the day!

Great Curry here near the Fair Oaks area. I also like their pad Thai extra spicy. Nice environment and quiet location. Good for small groups.

Random, cute little Thai Place in the corner of this shopping center! Definitely "mom and pop" vibes forsure. My 4 stars are really for my experience, since I only ordered a Beef Salad to go. I'm all about customer service and the gentleman there who greeted me and took my order was the sweetest. The salad was a bit pricey being $18 with tax! BUT.. I do have to admit, the salad itself was very filling! It was packed with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lettuce and MEAT! Check out the difference of what it looks like in its to go container vs on my plate.. The sauce had a decent chili lime flavor, but was a bit on the watery side. Overall, I would come back to try other dishes. :)

This was real good! Apparently, it's under a new owner. It was our first time visiting and definitely going back again. We got the wonton pot and chicken drunken noodles. Overhearing the table next to us there were 5 spice levels before well now there's 6. We got 3 - medium spicy and I was spiced up! As a person that enjoys spicy food but not super spicy, 3 was perfect. The wonton soup had such great flavor. According to the menu I didn't see an option to pick the wonton meat. I was fine with ground chicken but I can imagine it tasting as good with pork or shrimp. The service was great. Big thumbs up on the service. Super attentive and we felt welcomed.

Finally made it in an evening before they closed. First time here, never had Halal Thai food before. I ordered the chicken pad thai level 2 spicy and drunken noodle with chicken also level 2 spicy, as well as a thai iced tea. They were out of their normal milk so it was substituted with coconut milk which was fine by me. I love coconut. Dishes were good sized portions. Everything was very frsh and hot. The pad thai was lacking chicken, and the drunken noodle had a ton of chicken, but was lacking noodles. They balanced out nicely. Lol I am sure glad I only got level 2 spicy as it was pretty spicy and I like spice. They were very busy with internet orders, I was advised to call ahead to not have to wait for the next time. The restaurant was very tidy with tradition Thai decor, very pretty. I will definitely be back!

I've heard that this place serves halal food. But I do see pork on their menu. Has the management changed?

Hello! They don't have any non halal food I think it's the previous menu but it will change it as soon as possible.

Are they accepting dine in service?

Yes. I have been there picking up food to go and seen people in the restaurant dining.

Zero out of ten. Genuinely the worst Pad Thai I've ever had…read more When ordering, I was given three spice options: no spice, medium, or very spicy. I asked if they could do something mild, but was told they don't offer that. I'm Indian and normally handle spice very well, so I was worried that "no spice" would be completely bland. I went with their lowest actual spice option: medium. Huge mistake. The first bite genuinely scared me. It tasted like someone had dumped an entire packet of chili directly into my mouth. My eyes immediately started watering, my mouth was on fire, and eating it was extremely uncomfortable. This wasn't a matter of me being sensitive to spice, the "medium" was insanely spicy. My friend, who is also South Asian and accustomed to spicy food, couldn't finish hers either. I politely told our waitress that the medium Pad Thai was far too spicy for me to eat. Her solution was to offer me sugar to pour over it. That sounded awful, so I declined. At that point I literally went on ChatGPT to figure out how I could salvage my meal. It suggested peanut sauce as one option to help tone down the heat, which sounded much more reasonable. I asked the waitress for some peanut sauce and was told I could have it for an additional charge. Considering I was only asking for it because their "medium" Pad Thai was practically inedible, I found that pretty disappointing. But I wanted to actually eat the food I had paid for, so I agreed. The peanut sauce helped slightly, but I basically had to eat a spoonful of peanut sauce with every single bite just to tolerate the Pad Thai. At that point, I wasn't enjoying dinner. The restaurant itself also felt very dirty. The floors looked like they desperately needed to be mopped, which made the overall experience even less appealing. Between the inedible food, the lack of any meaningful attempt to fix the problem, being charged extra for something I needed just to make the meal tolerable, and the cleanliness of the restaurant, I seriously considered leaving no tip. I ultimately did leave one, albeit reluctantly. Zero out of ten experience. I will absolutely never come back.

No one even checked on us at all! We would have left but we had to pay upfront before we found out we had to be the waitress. Food wasn't even worth it (papaya was bland, pad Thai was average). Update: owner replied to this post. Everything that she stated wasn't true at all. I asked why we have to bring all the stuff in and she insisted that it's customary in Sacramento-- she did NOT asked us at all or did we asked, the owner said it immediately when we got seated that we HAD to bring it in. Yes I was upset AFTER we were told to bring the plates and everything in; we just came back from a vacation so we were in a good mood). Please don't make it seem that you were innocent as you also keep mentioning that is how things are in Sacramento and asked where I was even from. Also, we would've been more understanding if we didn't give us an attitude from the start and told us to get our own plate and bring it back in. A word of advice: please hire more staff since that would give some politeness to ALL customers. If you were so busy, how would you even have the time to explain why you wanted us to do waitress work. Please, you straight up and said we have to pick up our our plate of foods WITHOUT any of the understaff part. Again, owner keep trying to make a costumer experience in the wrong since honest review will hurt her business. Never in my Yelp reviews owner is so against a bad review --this just verifies how the owner is very defensive and keeps justifying without taking accountability of what actually happened (like how we even know she was working alone since we're outside). Also, please don't make any assumptions, they're not my husband or daughter (we never mentioned this and how inaccurate the owner perspective is). Further customers, please be aware when you leave bad reviews, expect the owner to persist that you're in the wrong (like she did with other previous bad reviews).

I'm not sure if management or chef has changed but their food is not what I remembered from years ago. We initially ordered their tofu pad thai and gai yang and immediately noticed how pricey their menu was. They have a wall of specials and I remember being shocked that their orange chicken was $24. I didn't mind paying more than what I was used to for my pad thai because I remembered their food was delicious but I was shocked when my pad thai came out. It was literally drowned in sauce and looked like it was a bowl of noodle soup. I was still optimistic hoping that it tasted better than it looked but it just tasted like sweet rice noodle soup. I was hesitant to bring it up to the waitress after two bites but so glad I did because I would have hated myself if I left without saying anything. The waitress was kind and offered to remake the dish. Instead, I opted for something else because I was afraid to be disappointed again. I ordered their tofu drunken noodles since I've gotten it here before and remember it being tasty. I confirmed that the drunken noodle was going to be a dry noodle dish and thankfully it was. It was good but not the best I've ever had. My boyfriend had their gai yang which is a marinated grilled chicken dish. He said it was pretty dry without the sauce on the side but the sweet chili sauce provided was pretty tasty. It's probably not worth $26 given the how dry the chicken was and he said he would never order it again. Overall, the customer service was great and portions were good. I had to deduct 3 stars from my previous review as the food quality has significantly gone down in my experience and doesn't justify the high menu prices in my opinion.

There's a reason this original spot stuck around for so long.. consistent, delicious, and open late night! #25 Bamee Bphet Yang 5/5* Duck Egg Noodle Soup is why I come here! Thai Canteen is the ONLY Thai spot that makes this duck noodle soup. Noodles are so plump and springy like the texture of freshly made ramen noodles. The broth is intense in flavor, amped up by the honey roasted duck and has this slightly salty, sweet umami taste. If it weren't for the "No MSG" red letters stamped on the menu board, I would've thought this soup had some MSG. The flavor is THAT delicious where you can't really pinpoint where it's coming from. #24 Gkuay Dtlow Reur (Boat Noodles) 3/5* The thin pho Noodles were fresh and cooked perfectly al dente, but the soup itself was lacking that beefy richness. The broth was watered down and bland. #26 Pad Thai Noodles with Tofu 5/5* Good portion size that is shareable for two. The soft tofu is plump and soaked up the pad thai sauce well. There's just enough sauce without the dish being overly saucy. The flavor is richer and less sticky sweet than other Thai places, making this more savory with a just slight hint of tamarind sweetness. Happy Hour Eggs Over Rice 1/5* This popped up on the Happy Hour menu one time and it is exactly what the name says. Just an egg omlette over a mound of white rice. The egg was overcooked, dry, and lacked any flavor. Even at HH prices, this is a hard pass. The location and hours are so convenient smack in the middle of downtown. You order at the counter, choose any seat, and the food comes out fast. Water is self service. This makes for a good lunch spot if you're short on time but want a good cooked meal. They have both after work HH and late night HH. There's a small bar inside as well and patio seating on the side.

Cloudy early Thursday afternoon and a bit of chill in the air. Time for soup!…read more My server was very pleasant, kind, and patient in explaining the soup offerings since there were none on the menu. I opted for the sweet and sour Tom Son version. The broth was a delightful and tangy sweet and sour broth filled with mushrooms and other vegetables and shrimp, squid, and scallops. I added some rice which balanced out the sourness if the soup perfectly! The squid was a bit chewy but the shrimp and scallops were good. The cherry tomatoes - red and gold - retained their yummy flavors and added to the fullness of the broth. Overall, a very delicious bowl! My only complaint - wish the music had been a bit lower. My server checked on me frequently and was attentive to me and all of her customers. A nice place to come to warm up and feel welcomed.

The Thai and Laotian food from here was pretty good!…read more My family and I shared the following dishes: -Thai Green Tea: Huge size! The drink was creamy and flavorful. Not too heavy. -Lao Sausage:: Meaty and I liked the flavor. It went well with the side sauce. I wish it came with more sticky rice though. -Chicken Larb: This was solid and I liked the tangy flavor. Portion size is pretty small though and only came with one cup of lettuce. -Lao Papaya Salad: Solid, but I've had better elsewhere. -Salmon Pad Thai: My favorite dish of the night! The best part were the salmon bites which were glazed in the sweet pad Thai sauce and had a crispy exterior and soft interior. Super delicious. -Khao Piak: Warm, thick, tangy, and comforting bowl of noodle soup. Overall, I enjoyed everything despite the smaller portion sizes for some of the dishes. The service here was pretty good and the interior was clean and cozy. Parking is street parking. A solid restaurant for Asian food in Sacramento.
