I have purchased items from LP's market but never tried food from their kitchen. I placed an online…read moretakeout order and it was ready in about 25 minutes. My husband got the smashburger and I got the Yinzer salad. The burger was probably one of the best ever, seriously. My salad was delicious & I loved their ranch dressing. We got a side of shoestring fries which were perfect & come with a garlic aioli. I am super excited to actually dine in now because it was so good!

However, after yesterday's experience, it is doubtful that I will be returning, nor will the friend who joined me. When ordering the "Hotlicks" sandwich, I politely asked if it could be grilled, as the last two times I received it as a cold sandwich, which was still good. The young man taking my order looked perplexed, so I explained it would be like a grilled cheese sandwich with the addition of the veggies. Later, while sitting at our table, the owner-Brian Perkarcik, approached to ask about the order. When I mentioned that my lunch was very good and previous orders were served as a cold sandwich, he argued with me, raising his voice, and stating that these are always grilled. I explained that the past two times they were not. I actually thought he might be joking and giving me a hard time. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and inquired if he was having a bad day. He responded in a raised voice while walking away from my table "What I don't need is someone telling me how to make a grilled cheese sandwich!" I was absolutely dumbfounded by the interaction and how ridiculous the situation was. Confronting and raising your voice at a regular customer over a simple request is unacceptable and deeply disappointing. Please note that the restaurant was very busy so I would think that this was uncomfortable for other nearby patrons. I hope they take this feedback constructively to improve how to communicate kindly with their customers in the future. I have always found the staff to be lovely, but this experience with the owner was not. It was a very unpleasant experience and quite unnecessary. The saying "It's not what you say. It's how you say it" holds true in this situation.

We did pulled pork, Cajun chicken, macaroni salad, and coleslaw. I really enjoyed the pulled pork. We got three different sauces to try with it as well. The Cajun chicken tasted good, but I was expecting a little bit more spiciness to it. We will definitely look to use the Cooked Goose again for our next needed event.

I was highly disappointed with my experience trying to arrange catering with this company. I am not…read morethe only one from the other reviews. Should have read them before I called. It would have saved me the headache. I was actually recommended to them by several people who have eaten their food, so I reached out hoping to have them cater a 30th birthday celebration. Unfortunately, the experience I had when I called completely changed my opinion. I had questions about pricing, how the catering process works, and what options were available. Instead of taking a few minutes to actually discuss it with me, the person I spoke with repeatedly told me to "look on our website." Yes, obviously I can look at the website. That's not why I called. I called because I wanted to speak with someone, ask questions, understand how the catering works, and make arrangements for an event. I shouldn't have to chase down basic information or feel like I'm inconveniencing someone simply because I'm trying to give the company my business. The interaction was extremely unhelpful and honestly left me wondering how difficult it would be to actually coordinate an entire catered event if getting basic questions answered was already this frustrating. You lost a customer today. And that's especially disappointing because I was referred to you by people who genuinely enjoy your food. Hospitality is about more than the food. It's about how you treat people, especially when they're calling because they want to spend their money with you. If answering customers' questions and helping them through the process is too much, then perhaps catering--and hospitality in general--isn't the right business to be in. I was excited to give this company my business. After this experience, I will be taking it elsewhere.

The thought of someone dropping off a full box of prepared meals at my door the next day roused me to such a degree that I could not enter my CC number fast enough at check out. My fingers were ablaze on my phone screen. It was a little more $$ than I would usually spend, but I was beyond over extended and not having to prepare multiple meals was worth almost anything in that moment. The website only gives general details about what is in the box but if you join the e-mail list they send out more specifics each week. It arrived with contactless drop off on my porch the next day and I got a txt to let me know it was there. Nice sturdy box, carefully packaged, and soooo much goodness. I was really blown away by the amount and quality of the food. Two fresh salads, an entree, baked treats, fresh bread and dips, a leafy green salad, and a couple large soups that were already frozen. It was all super good and I think I want to treat myself with it once a month or every other month. You won't regret it. Go for it. Treat yourself. Here are a couple pics but I didn't get shots of everything and it was all top notch.

The meal kit came with super fun and easy to follow instructions for reheating everything. For $75, we got an antipasto snack box with cured meats and olives/pepperoncini and a small focaccia loaf with gorgonzola spread that was out of this world. I could literally eat a tub of that spread. We opened the Chianti bottle that came with the meal too and it was great with the appetizers. The box also came with these incredible garlic sage smashed beans that ate more like a fabulous over the top bean soup. Wish we had some more of that focaccia loaf to sop that up. The mixed green salad came with a light flavorful lemon dressing and I have to say I was super impressed with how FRESH the lettuce and radicchio was - it was like a bite of summer in the middle of this harsh Pittsburgh Winter we find ourselves in. The main entrée was a tray of sublime ricotta ravioli in pecorino rosemary cream sauce that, after reheating, created some crispy top layer raviolis and simmered, tender, bottom layer raviolis. It was so unbelievably good and filling! But wait, there's more! We also got a huge tub of Italian Sunday Sauce and six large meatballs that we heated in a pan. The sauce came with pieces of pepperoni and huge chunks of whole garlic floating in it. The sauce is a little on the sweeter side but it really paired so well with this savory ravioli. Dessert was this perfectly sized piece of cheesecake with fresh raspberries and blackberries. Absolutely delicious! We just loved this whole meal. It was such a welcome treat and we appreciated the finer details of the preparation and the courses. We will definitely be keeping an eye out for future offerings from BRK.
