The Chadwick is the place to have your reception. My experience: My wife and I got married in March 2024 and had our reception at the Chadwick. We spent about half a year organizing it, working with Stacy, Chadwick's Event Planning Manager. From the first meeting, she was extremely easy to work with and very helpful. She laid out all of our options and was honest in her process, allowing us to design the event how we wanted. She was our main support and I can't thank her enough for her excellent work. The Chadwick's dining service was similarly excellent. Our selection process was breezy, and the food tasted just as good when we sampled it as it did at the wedding. The in-house chef was great to work with and was a great help during the tasting process. Our guests gave us rave reviews both at the reception and after -- it was really that good. The Chadwick has a great location. The parking lot is expansive, and the venue is clean and elegant. Our ballroom was a perfect fit for about 130 guests. The table layout was custom-tailored and the (included!) bar service was a hit. The cost is unbeatable for the value, the staff is communicative and smart, the food is truly excellent, and the venue is wonderful. The Chadwick has my highest recommendation. I am a bride and had my wedding at The Chadwick in May of 2013. I'm going to preface this by saying that YES, I wanted a package deal. I was planning my event from out of state and wanted to deal with as few vendors and little nitty-gritty details as possible. My husband and I worked with Stacey for the planning piece- she was awesome and readily accessible through e-mail or phone. I feel like I got everything that I wanted in the package that we designed together and that the pricing was fair. I would say that it would be a bit over-priced on a Saturday though. (paying full price- Friday and Sunday weddings get a decent sized price break). We had what they called the Elegant Sitdown Reception- 4 courses, plated and served. The food was pretty good for my taste and my guests loved it (which is what really mattered to me). The outdoor patio is beautiful! In response to a comment below- they must have updated the bathrooms. They look brand new now. They also did a bunch of work to the entrance hall that was under construction when I first went to tour the facility and completed by the time my wedding rolled around. Our event coordinator was really on her game the day of and I have ZERO complaints about her. tldr: my wedding was great! I was a very easygoing bride though and didn't have any sort of "grand vision" that I needed the details to be perfect on. They executed what I had in mind as well we I would have myself. Yesterday, I attended a friend's bridal shower at the Chadwick. I had driven by the traditional-style Chadwick sign multiple times while heading from Cranberry/Wexford to McCandless/Ross Park areas after work but knew absolutely nothing about the establishment. I was very impressed by this venue space. Upon entering, there was great signage to find where to go for the event that you were attending. The building seemed to be very well maintained and recently renovated. Everything that I consumed was also delicious. From the beverages to the brunch of sausage links, eggs with cheese, banana french toast, and yogurt parfaits, I was really impressed with the quality of the food! I generally have very low expectations for the food served at an event space like this one, but the quality of food here far exceeded my expectations. read more

Oh my... OH MY the food. Oh my... So I went here for a wedding. The wedding was lovely. Lovely bride, lovely ceremony. The setup here wasn't too bad either, but the food... oh my the food. o.o I literally considered dumping some of it on the floor so it looked like I had eaten something. o.O Oh my... The fish... was fishier than $.25 canned cat food, luke warm, and unspiced. The vegetables were sparse, microwaved to a self contained gerber approved mushed but not mashed consistency akin to soft raw tofu, and tasted about the same. The potatoes were boiled but left quartered (evident from the excess of water they were bathing in), with no spice and slightly raw in the middle. O.O Just no. read more

I'm a wedding photographer and recently had the opportunity to shoot at the Chadwick. It's a different perspective but it works. Food - typical but good, the wedding soup was wayyy to salty! Lynda - She's amazing and the BEST asest you have. She deserves a raise. I'm not kidding. To have someone that not only cars for the bride/groom/family but also those around her assisting, is an asset! Our server - Diane quickly learned our table was also servants (photographers and video) she forgot our salads and never returned after that. No coffee, tea or cake. We're used to that service but Lynda did not miss a beat. I think the outdoor wedding spot is amazing? I think your spot is amazing, and service is great. I like to give honest reviews. I had my daughter in laws baby shower here today and I can't say enough good things about it. Starting with all the great customer service from Stacy to set it up. The venue is just so beautiful too! We had Janet as our helper with the food, etc and she is TOP NOTCH!! She bent over backwards to help us. We had the Brunch Buffet and everyone RAVED about how good the food was!! We had our wedding here in May, and working with the Chadwick was so stress-free and wonderful! Someone was always available to answer questions, and they were all very organized and helpful leading up to the event. The day of the wedding exceeded our expectations as well. The staff (especially Dana!) was very attentive and made our entire bridal party feel special. They also helped to alleviate stress for the bride and groom by packaging all of the leftover cookies and cupcakes for us, as well as the decorations we had brought so that we could pick them up the next day with no hassle. We also got an insane amount of compliments as to how wonderful and beautiful our cocktail hour on the outside patio was. Would recommend this venue for any occasion! read more

We held my son's engagement party and this was our 5th event here, over many years. Again, we were happy with The Chadwick. We worked with Stacy and she is always responsive and accommodating. We had close to 50 people for cocktails/appetizers. Everyone raved about the food. WE had the pasta and slider stations, the cocktail party package as well as some extra items I choose. There was more than enough food and they packaged the leftovers up for us to take home. My only suggestion would be for the lettuce wraps to be modified to use a different lettuce or 2 leafs as they were difficult to pick up and the filling fell out trying to pick them up. The bartending as well as the wait staff were wonderful to work with. The room was decorated for Xmas and I added some of my own decorations. Overall, we were very happy! read more

I recently hosted a bridal shower at the Chadwick. Stacy and Jackie, the event planners, were easily accessible by phone and email, and really seemed to care about making it a nice day for our group and also ensuring we got the most for our money. The event was in the Club Room, which was bright and airy, spotless, and set up exactly to our specifications. We had two dedicated servers who were a dream - professional and friendly, and totally on the ball. They seemed to know what we needed before we even asked (lighter for candles, cart to transport gifts to the car). And everyone raved about the food (brunch buffet). They even boxed up the leftovers for us to take home, which not every banquet hall will do. So many places that specialize in large parties have a dated feel to them, but the decor here was new and modern. Husband and I considered having our wedding here, but the package deal wasn't really for us. The venue is very pretty and I can totally understand why couples would want a package deal like this place but.... COUPLES PLEASE SPARE YOUR LOVED ONES! The dividers between the rooms are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the other rooms, service is only so-so and the food. Oh dear lord, the food. Just, no. Hands down the absolute WORST wedding food I've ever had in my life. The bride of the wedding we went to here is one of my best friends and so I will never ever tell her how cold and just awful the food was, but it really was just not good. I got the fish and it was overly fishy, overbaked and tough. How they managed to have it overcooked and yet still somehow stonecold, I'll never understand. Husband got the filet and it was fatty and also overcooked. The vegetables and potatoes were ok, but very sparse in the portion size. Husband and I left this wedding early because we were STARVING because the food was just so gross. We wound up hitting up a drive thru on the way home. Really disappointing. read more

I have heard a mixture of opinions on The Chadwick over the years, but I thought I'd give them a chance now that I'm engaged and looking for a reception venue. This would have been a very convenient reception venue- only 3 minutes from our ceremony site! I scheduled the venue tour for 9:00 AM on a Saturday morning, after explaining to the coordinator that I had to work later that morning. She had assured me that we would begin at 9:00, and it would only take 30-45 minutes. This was perfect! I would have had plenty of time to tour the facility, hear all about the wonderful things they offer, and still make it to work on time. When my mother and I arrived at The Chadwick at 9:00, we rang the little doorbell and waited for someone to greet us. Ten minutes later, we rang it again, thinking that they must not have heard it. A few minutes later, the maintenance man informed us that there was a walk-in couple who arrived a few minutes before us for a tour and that the coordinator would be with us shortly. Time ticked on, and at 9:15, we decided to leave. About half way to the car, the event coordinator ran out the door after us, begging us to stay longer and tour the facility and hear what she had to say. Her other couple was done, and had time to talk to us. We explained to her how unprofessional we found it for her to take another couple ahead of us. Why bother scheduling an appointment if they are going to take walk-ins anyway? She gave us a ton of attitude, and insisted we follow her inside. We reluctantly agreed and saw the space, which was nothing special. The bar was a small rectangle cut out of the wall in the front corner of the room, and they will only add a second bar for an event with over 200 people. I thought that the lobby was much more beautiful than the ballroom itself, which was disappointing. If we are going to be treated like this BEFORE they have our money, how will they treat us after? We will never consider The Chadwick for an event again. read more

This past Sunday, August 6th I had my baby shower there. We had it on the covered patio where they have the restaurant Frescos. I can not get over how wonderful the staff is, how beautiful the venue is or how delicious the food is. Jackie worked with my mother and mother in law on the planning and preparation she is the sweetest most helpful lady.. To be honest anyone you spoke with there was amazing. The waiter Keith was amazing accommodated us in everyway, Marissa was just this biggest sweet heart and last but not least I believe her name was Cheryl she was the greatest too. I cant say one was better then the other because all three of them were so helpful. The tables, the chair and the linens were so perfect. We had a couple extra types of cookies and the staff was able to hook us up with another table very quickly and they were so sweet about it. I recommend the moscato punch more then the sangria not they both aren't good from what people where saying but the Moscato was the crowd favorite. Everyone who we invited have been reaching out to us telling us how much they loved the food. We did buffet (the meal went so quick which was so nice) we chose Asiago chicken, penne Marinara, Roasted Yukon gold potatoes, sliced beef medallions, medley of veggies, fruit salad and toss salad. Our menu was dynamite everyone raved about the potatoes, pasta, etc.. Hats off to them there. I would recommend this place to anyone. I hope I got all the staffs names right because they were the best. This is a must for any event! I traveled from South hills area to here for my shower and so did all my guests and they all understood why when they saw how great it was. They have an extensive menu selection and are flexible beyond that. They can deliver, set up and clean up if you wish. They can provide servers and serve ware also. It's very easy. First review I've written but this place deserves it. We had my sister's bridal shower here and it couldn't have gone better. The price is unbelievable for the quality of the food and services provided. Stacy was a great event coordinator and Noreen (lead waitress) was incredibly helpful. Everyone enjoyed their food during the plated lunch and I would definitely recommend choosing the tomato bisque for the soup! Planning, execution and clean up were as simple as can be. Wedding reception for 175 people: First the good, then the bad. The staff was wonderful, and the event was well organized and looked very nice - however, the food was just awful. The fish was bone dry and tasted like soap, the beef was rubbery and tasted only like rosemary, and the chicken was so dry that it tasted like nothing. (Several of us thought it was the fish, at first.) The mashed potatoes had no flavor and were starchy and gummy. I wish that I was the only one with this opinion, but sadly, we have received the same feedback from our guests. While I never expect the best from banquet food in general, I certainly expected more than this - particularly for the price! So disappointing to have our guests leave hungry. To all couples going through the venue selection process, We would like to share our experience, both positive and negative to help you in making your decision for a venue. We chose the Chadwick, in Wexford, PA, and while we do not regret our venue decision, there were some mishaps that we would like you to be aware of. First and foremost, is the largest one. The Chadwick did not provide us with a detailed "plan b," in the event of inclement weather. While everything from start to finish is required to be documented, such as: vendors, contact information, vendor's insurance policies, contracts, payment processing, number of guests (including children under 3, children between 3-12, and children under the age of 21, etc.), this is all done to benefit the Chadwick. Requiring any venue, including the Chadwick, to provide a detailed "plan b," would have enabled us and our guests to have a much more enjoyable, stress-free, experience. We understand no one can control the weather. However, they also didn't put any mitigating controls in place so that guests and wedding party were protected from the weather (extensions on an awning, plastic roll down covers, etc.) They were also extremely unaccommodating in providing alternative indoor options for pictures. Which again, should be identified in their "plan b." In fact, the owner, refused to even turn off the common area television, until another person mentioned how much money we had spent there on our wedding. She then permitted us 10 minutes for photos in this area, because she noted another wedding would be passing through that area. There was concern to keep the weddings apart. Yes, they do have 2 weddings at their location on any given day. That concern however was disregarded later in the evening, when my husband and I were greeting our guests and we saw a member of the other wedding party standing inside our reception hall. It was, though, handled quickly and efficiently by Dana, one of the staff members who is AMAZING! The dinner was fantastic, the food was cooked to perfection, and our guests enjoyed their meals immensely. However, be weary when choosing the appetizers for cocktail hour, because the "mini Chicago style deep dish pizza" closely resembled a bagel bite that could have been picked up at your local Giant Eagle store. Members that work at the Chadwick, Stacy and Dana in particular, were amazing. The owner, however, should take a few lessons from them in regards to hospitality and customer service. Or, let them run the show as they truly were exceptional. They decorated, and Dana made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night. Several times as our drinks got low, Dana would show up with cocktails in hand, without ever being prompted. Dana was honest, genuine, and you could tell her top priority was the bride and groom, which she excelled at. At the end of night, be cautious, because either you, or members of your party are expected to clear everything out of the reception area. Also, you are not permitted the next morning to carry out items. Unfortunately, we left our centerpieces on the tables and The Chadwick packed them up for us. However, once the florist arrived to pick up these items, two of the centerpieces were broken, which cost us money to replace. Other than Dana and Stacy, it appeared the waitresses and bartenders took their hospitality training from the owner, as they seemed very disinterested and even rude to some of our guests. Along those lines, we wrote a few concerns in an e-mail to the Chadwick the very next day. It took them 4 days to send a standard apology back to us, in which a robot could have written. This wasn't a surprise, as they already had all of our money. Prior to payment, however, our phone calls and e-mails were returned promptly within 24 hours. Final payment, too, is in fact required 5 days prior to your wedding date. In closing, the bottom line is, make sure the Chadwick, or any other venue provides you with a "plan b," or any other information you may need. Because, once "plan b" is needed, you can never go back. read more

I had my wedding reception at the Chadwick in Sept. 2008. If you are a bride that is ok with a "package deal" and aren't too serious about having every detail being unique and perfect, the Chadwick works. In their wedding packages everything is included, such as table linens, drinks, and centerpieces. The food was great, the only complaint my guests had was that the drinks were really watered down. Also the table linens are basic cotton, so if you want fancy linens be prepared to rent from someone else. Also, I asked if I could have a different napkin fold and they said they couldn't do it, even though it was pretty simple. Honestly in the end I couldn't have cared less about the napkins, it was still alot of fun. I ended up getting my centerpieces from my florist because theirs were very plain. My reception was at 4 and my florist wasn't allowed in until 3 because they had booked another party in the room for the morning. My florist rushed and got it done but it would have been nice if it she had more time. I had my bridal shower there and my bridesmaids all brought credit cards to pay and we got charged a fee for not having cash or check so I thought that was crazy. All in all though it was a good experience and the food and service was very good. read more

I don't normally write reviews but the service we received here was so good I decided to post on both Yelp and Google+. I recently planned my sister-in-law's wedding and it was held at the Chadwick. We had both the rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding ceremony and reception there. It is a beautiful place. The outside patio is a gorgeous place to hold a ceremony, even with with weather (early October) being a little cold. The front hall is lovely and the ballroom is perfect for decorating with your own decorations and putting your stamp on it. It's obvious that a lot of time and effort has been put into the decor and the service is exceptional. Stacey and Jackie were available throughout the process and did an excellent job helping us plan. Jackie, Dana and Taylor were available the day of and kept everything running smoothly. The food was wonderful and served hot. Our every need was taken care of and the staff was professional and funny and made the day special. I've never experienced such a well-run business and I recommend anyone looking for a party venue in Pittsburgh to consider the Chadwick. You won't regret it! read more
