He had been involuntarily assigned to transport supplies to Washington, D.C. for government-related work despite not even working for the government. He was completely exhausted and just wanted a meal before finally getting some sleep. He placed the order on the restaurant's website, which automatically redirected it through DoorDash. The order was confirmed, had an order number, and had already been assigned a driver. Then, out of nowhere, the restaurant canceled the order. Since my husband was exhausted, I called on his behalf. The first employee told me their DoorDash tablet wasn't even on, they never received an order, and they didn't cancel anything. Then another employee admitted they did cancel the order because they weren't working with DoorDash. During this process, I was hung up on twice. I then contacted DoorDash. Their customer service was polite and confirmed there was a valid order, a driver had been assigned, and the restaurant canceled the order. Unfortunately, because the order was placed through the restaurant's website, DoorDash couldn't issue a refund and advised me to contact the restaurant. When I called the restaurant back and explained what DoorDash had told me, the employee began speaking to someone else in Spanish while I was talking and completely ignored me. Every time I tried to explain the situation, she talked over me. I repeatedly said that all I wanted was our money back. Instead of helping, she denied everything and then hung up on me again. After that, they stopped answering the phone altogether. I was polite at the beginning of every conversation. It wasn't until I was repeatedly hung up on and ignored that I became frustrated. Mistakes happen, but the way this situation was handled was completely unprofessional. Hanging up on customers instead of trying to resolve the issue is unacceptable. If you're going to take orders through your website that are routed through DoorDash, then you need to honor those orders or at least communicate professionally when something goes wrong. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money somewhere that values its customers.

Hummus is rich and creamy. Tabouli is excellent! They have 2 different shelving areas offering "provisions" like olive oil,tahini, chickpeas, spices, and assorted cookies and crackers. This review is long overdue.. partly because I wanted to keep this place a hidden gem (just kidding…read more). It remains one of my all-time favorite Dominican restaurants and never disappoints. Starting with the location, the restaurant is in a small plaza, so there's usually plenty of parking available, which is always a plus. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the staff, and the interior instantly makes you feel like you're on a tropical vacation. I haven't been to the DR yet, but the vibes are definitely there. My go-to drink is the Morir Soñando--highly recommend it but it's sweet by nature so be careful. Over multiple visits, I've tried a variety of drinks, appetizers, and entrées, and everything has been consistently great. The tostones and empanadas always come out warm and fresh never dry, just perfect. The beef and chicken empanadas are my favorites; both are so flavorful. My boyfriend and I also love the mangú, and the fried cheese is SO good. Honestly, everything on that plate hits. Overall, the food is amazing, the staff is polite and reasonably quick, and I've never had a bad experience here. I seriously can't wait until the next time I'm in town to visit again.

I am not sure what went wrong, but it felt like my noodles weren't fully cooked and the broth wasn't hot enough to cook it all. The flavor of the broth was also a little too perfumy for me and a bit off. More people came as we dined so it took a while to get the check, but we accounted enough time and weren't worried.
