This is the most delicious pho (#30).

I loved this place... The food is delicious, and I don't understand the negative reviews about this place. 100% recommended.

Came here randomly one day. It wasn't that busy so we got seated right away. They took the order after a few minutes as well. The order came pretty quickly and we got some extra bowls for my sons. It was a smooth dinner and it was good so far

They rebranded about 1 year ago and have switched to 'Pho Eastern' to differentiate from 'Pho Hoa', which is the original restaurant in Dorchester. I love this place and crave it weekly. I love the pho broth. I love the people. I'm so grateful it's in Malden. Don't come here to complain about service. This is not where you go to be waited on hand and foot--even though they will happily do this! If you need something, ask. You can either get complimentary hot tea or tap water when you sit--if you want ice in your water, ask for it as it is served without ice. They also have a full bar for those who prefer something with a buzz. If you don't want something on the menu, ask if it can be modified. This place goes a long way to please their customers' requests. Even smoothies can be made with juice or water instead of dairy. I hope to continue to see this business excel. Thank you, Pho Eastern!

Very disappointed by their beef pho... literally 3 pieces of meat. I ordered a LARGE. Wont come back anymore.

I used to like coming in this restaurant for the Pho. It was good. The other night I went there with my family total of five people. After we ordered, had our food ready to pay the bill the server came to the table, notify me that they automatically took out a tip of 20% on my check. This is something new to this restaurant. The last time I was there was a few months ago with the same amount of people. Tipping is a privilege not a right. I tip all the time and was going to tip on my bill, but this is something they should've said prior to being seated. Now that they said that they automatically took a tip out that I was going to do anyways sort of irritated me a little bit and I will not be returning to that restaurant I have no complaints about the food or the staff just the way they did that business.

This place has improved through out the years, the difference from my recent visit compared to the last time I visited when they first opened is huge. Of course there are some things for improvements. From my recent visit, we ordered the spring rolls sampler, extra large special pho and a special rice plate. Spring rolls sampler (grilled beef, grilled pork meat balls, shrimp) : This is something they should improve on, it's not consistent. It's a hit or miss, unfortunately on my recent visit, it was a miss. The rolls were falling apart as I picked it up. The sizes between my visits are not consistence, this time the rolls were on the smaller size. Also, the grilled pork in one of the rolls was served to me cold while it supposed to be hot. It was such a dissappointment as it is one of my favorite type of springroll. Extra large special Pho: my husband said it met his expectations and they also did not cheap out on the meats at all. The flavors are there but personally I think they could improve on the flavors a little bit more as for me it's still a little bland. Special rice plate: This is the STAR of the show!!! I think they have the best Vietnamese rice plate in all of MA! I would come back here again and again and again just for this dish. The rice they served was broken rice which is the correct type of rice for this dish. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, it was so flavorful and moist. The shredded pork skin, meat loaf, and crispy shrimp tofu were also very tasty and fresh. It also came with not one but two fried eggs! Service was fast and friendly.

I wanted to love this place. The fried rolls were fine. Tasty. But when the pho came. I was quite disappointed on how little flavor there was. Almost like it got diluted too many times. I was so sad. No depth. Maybe I came on a bad day? Who knows. But all I got to say is that the soup had no deep flavor.

Great Vietnamese option in Malden, better than most of the other options in town. I ordered the goi cuon nem nuong and a small pho tai, bo vien. The goi cuon nem nuong was good, however they gave a large unnecessary amount of sauce. I've never seen that much given for one order with two rolls. The pho itself was good. Good amount of meat given. Service could be a lot better. The table of 4 all ordered pho but we were never given our garnish dish (bean sprouts, lime, basil, etc). It's usually given before or when the pho comes out. We had to ask our waiter for it and it came 10 minutes after the pho dishes came. The restaurant is in a plaza, so there is a parking lot.

Honestly, this place is one of my favorite to get Pho from around this area. So easy to walk in, sit down and enjoy their delicious food. Service is always very friendly and ready to assist. Casual dining.

I came here pretty often when I lived in the area and it's a solid place for pho. I always get the avocado smoothie which is super creamy and not too sweet. Their strawberry smoothie is decent but taste a bit too artificial for me. Their pho is pretty good. It comes with a lot of protein and the broth is usually flavorful. I also get the com dac biet which comes with a variety of toppings in the dish. The pork chop is usually very flavorful and perfect with rice but the other toppings are also delicious.

A great addition to Malden, Pho Hoa is here serving up great beef noodle soups! Each regular beef noodle soup is packed with lots of beef and noodles - definitely worth it. For apps, I tried the shrimp spring roll, grilled pork meatball spring roll, and the crispy egg roll which were all tasty. I would steer clear of the seafood noodle soup. I was very disappointed in the lack of seafood in my bowl - it was mainly veggies and very little seafood. I have yet to try their rice dishes but the photos look amazing so can't wait to go back and give it a try!

Giving this place 5 stars because not only was the service fast and friendly but also everything I tried was amazing. The shrimp pho was really good and very filling and appetizers #20 & #21 were my favorite part of the meal.

What a lovely place! A beautiful bar and fantastic holiday decor. We had the vegetarian Pho and it was very good! Would like a smidge more star anise. Fried appetizer was delish. No ban xeo on the menu.

There are other things too. Banh mi - We like the special cold cut combo, and they were $7.50 each. These were excellent! Bread was perfectly crisp and filling was good proportions. Flavor was good and it satisfies! Egg rolls - $1.25 each. They are small but pack great crisp and the filling is tasty. Get 4 or 5. Rice roll plate - Not sure of the price but appears to be good portions and comes with one egg roll and it has some cold cut style meats. Includes fish sauce and you can ask for it to be spicy and they give you the spiciest (but so good) red chilies! 4 banh mi's, 5 egg rolls and the rice roll plate was $45.xx. Most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the Boston/Greater Boston area are typically older. But now the question is, is the food actually worth the higher price tag? I would say yes! Service is on the slow side but food was surprisingly quite all right. These are the dishes we ordered today: - cha gio/fried egg rolls - Banh khot/ crispy shrimp cakes - limeade (x2) - pho tai bo vien / pho with eye round steak + meatballs - grilled beef rice plate - an order of nem nuong on the side Thoughts: Food took a minute to arrive to our table. I'd say it was roughly 20ish minutes. It seemed like their cha gio/fried eggrolls were freshly made to order? They were not greasy and stale like they normally are when ordered at a restaurant (premade). I really liked the egg rolls from here, though it had more wood sear mushroom + vermicelli noodles in it rather than meat for filling. It came with lots of veggies, which I appreciate! Banh khot/crispy shrimp cakes were fire! This dish isn't readily available at most other restaurants so we definitely had to get them to try. They used whole shrimp and I thought that the portion size was great. Normally they are much smaller & use smaller shrimp (at least the ones I've tried at other spots). Great flavor & tasted delish. ***We ended up asking for some fish sauce with peppers, we felt like the nuoc mam they gave us was missing something. Fish sauce w/ peppers was much better! Highly recommend asking for this. *** Limeade: For me, it tasted like lemonade. Sweeter than usual. Not the best. The pho tai bo vien was not bad. The broth is on the lighter side. I was expecting the eye round steak to be the thin, round cut of beef but they actually gave thicker cuts of beef. I enjoyed it & dipped with a mixture of hoisin + sriracha. The grilled beef rice plate was great. Our server suggested to get the beef over the pork rice plate, which we were skeptical at first. From our experience, we avoid ordering grilled beef because it is always made too dry so pork is often the better option. The grilled beef was not dry here & we gave it a thumbs up. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at An Nam. The restaurant is super clean, aesthetically pleasing interior, and fresh + delicious food. Can't ask for more honestly. Would like to see the service improve & it'd be nice if the food could be made a bit quicker but we were pleased with the quality overall... so can't complain haha.

Good for business lunch, family dinners etc. Their presentations are clean, good color with the veggies. pricing was a bit higher than expected but that's subjective. We ordered the following: + com thit nuong bo Rice plate with grilled beef. It was actually very filling, good thicker cuts of beef. Yes grilled medium to well done but not super dry like a lot of other places. At the other spots i typically get marinated pork instead of the beef. Good portion of protein, tender for the style of beef and the cook. Comes with rice and veg. I asked for nuoc mam (fish sauce with chili) The Nuoc Mam that comes standard caters for the demographic probably. I like mine with chili's and garlic etc. + Pho Tao Bo Vien. pho noodle soup with round eye beef and beef meatballs. Broth was a bit light in depth probably just needed more time to steep the flavor. Actual cuts of beef that wasn't just a super thin cuts from most others. Good portion which compensated for the price. + crispy shrimp cake Banh Khot i enjoyed this because they use a larger mold for it, giving bigger cakes with FULL size shrimp on each one and not baby shrimp like the ones you find typically. Nice light crisp, flavor was good, dunk em in the fish sauce and YUM. + cha gio eggrolls - enjoyable i personally prefer a more pork ratio to the woods ear vermicelli/veg mix. However still a good egg roll, crispy outside, tasted freshly made, not sitting in a pan all day and heated up making them soggy or extra oily. Not my favorite though. + Thit nem nuong Viet pork sausage, not over grilled, moist and just a nice addition on the side. + 2x limeades. This is typically my goto drink at any Viet establishment since I was a kid. This one I had was a bit more on the sweeter side with a more tart after-note from the lime. Not bad though. Pleasant surprise before our paint & sip event!

The restaurant is one of the more modern decorated Vietnamese restaurants compared to traditional mom and pop's Vietnamese restaurants that I am used to. I appreciate the vietbamese street scene mural that they have going and I appreciate their effort and attention to detail. For appetizer, we ordered the Vietnamese fish sauce fried chicken wings. It was very good! This is a must! Sadly, they didn't have the betel leaves beef/pork skewer. I will have to come back another time. For entree, I ordered pho while my husband ordered the bun cha Ha Noi, and my kids shared the rice plate with pork chop and fried egg. My pho broth was very clear, and very light in flavor. It was very reminiscent of how my mother would make her pho, very subtle flavors and with wide pho rice noodles. Long's pho I would say is more akin to Northern Vietnamese pho so if you're looking for more salty and fragrant pho, this might not be for you. I love additional pickled vinegar garlic slices that are available at each table as well. I have never seen this at any Vietnamese restaurant in MA. The bun cha Ha Noi, the was good, but I would try something other next time. The rice plate we ordered had pork chops, fried eggs, and what was supposed to be pork skin, however, the pork skin was not up to standard so the owner replaced it with grilled chicken for us. Pork chops were a little over cooked. They are still very new. I think playing some music will help with the kitchen banter. Service was friendly and fast. Food came out at a very good pace. I feel like their drinks and appetizers menu might be the place to start if you're not adventurous. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. See my pictures!
