Sent out service requests via Yelp and Parker's Painting offered a competitive bid. They were not the lowest, but I appreciated the timely and professional communication. So we decided to move forward and we are very happy with our decision. As you can see from the pictures, set up was meticulous. My house was left as if there wasn't any work done and the results were even better. The wall, corner, and ceiling look as if there was never anything there. Bookmarking Parker's for sure for any future drywall or paint work we may need.

Straightforward estimate process. Pricing was fair and I liked Garrett's (the owner) attitude. Spent 3 days scraping, sanding and patching to prepare for painting as well as moving all items out of the way before painting. They masked off quite a bit of area to ensure that there would not be any overspray. This attention to preparation continued as they did the stucco, trim/facia/eaves, siding and doors. They also help trim back some of the vegetation from wrought iron fence that they painted. Very happy with the process and results. My wife is making plans to have them back to do some work on the inside of our house.

This time, I hired them to paint the shed, wrought iron patio furniture, kitchen cupboards, kitchen table and chairs, bar stools, and a corner cupboard. As always, Jason was responsive in communicating, competitive in pricing, professional in his dealings with me, and the quality of the work speaks for itself. I have recommended him to by neighbor as well who was absolutely thrilled with the exterior paint job Jason's team provided.

Which means you run the risk of running into various levels of opinion and emotional impact due to the constant imposition of work impacting their usual day to day living situation. This job had high maintenance neglect from the previous duplex owner. Most likely, hadn't been painted in 30 years, possibly more. As with most structural neglect, there were issues with wood rot, termite damage and various degrees of stucco degradation. Jason's team was up for the task. There were tense moments, but Jason was calm (at least around me, haha) and handled little flare ups. Jason was up front regarding damage found and was detailed in explaining how his crew would address issues. This took a month due to the amount of damage repair, prep work and finally paint. Jason's crew made this duplex come from a tired eyesore into the quaint mid century cottages that they were meant to represent. Like always, Jason's crew cleaned up the worksite everyday. Made sure things like paint chips and debris were picked up nightly. For the quality and long lasting results that South Coast Painting provides, it's worth every penny spent. You can get cheaper bids, but know that some companies thin out their paint for a lower materials cost. If you want your paint job to last 3 years vs 8-12, that's your choice. My house was painted 9 years ago by South Coast Painters, and there is no peeling or fading. Even on black painted shutters. Personally I don't want my home painted once every 1/2 decade.

Superior Demolition - Paper lifting above my front door that I asked Tony to fix before he finished.

Tony and his colleagues came a few days later to start and they did such a great job! They completed all repairs and fixed the poor patching job my old contractor did. And what's even better is that he always showed up on time or communicated when he was running a tad late d/t Sherwin Williams running out of paint (go figure!). My house is over 2,200 sqft and he was able to complete the job in 4 days, including touch ups. And my house looks great! Please do not hesitate to reach out to him! From my conversations with Tony, it sounds like he can do it all and we will definitely contact him in the future for more remodeling needs.

He was asking me for he second payment before it was due because he said he spent the money, which was very unprofessional. I didn't give it to him until a third of the work was done like we agreed on. When he asked me for the final 3rd payment, I walked around the house and noticed quite a few things that needed to be fixed one of them being right above my front door, where you could still see the black paper underneath the stucco he assured me he would fix it along with the other things, but his guy was packing up so quickly that when I walked out there and saw he still didn't do it, all the color Stucco had been thrown in the trash. Tony told me that he would buy some more color and be back within a week. I followed up with him about five times via text message and called him and spoke with him and he kept giving me the runaround ( oh next week, oh next week) also the wall that he stuccoed was still wet when he was leaving and I brought up to him the fact that you could still see the block underneath. He assured me that it would dry and look great. Well, no you can still see the block underneath the wall because he only put one coat. I gave Tony $7000 and feel like all he wanted was the final payment in a hurry hoping I wouldn't notice all the areas that were unfinished. He never finished the job and I'm unhappy with the finished product. It's sad that he promised to return over and over again and still you can see black paper above my front door when you walk up and the block wall looks like it has only a very thin player of stucco. I'm just disappointed because as a single mom I saved awhile for this project and trusted this man.
