Attempted to have my pet groomed at this location twice. Either attempt was successful. Groomer scheduled time incorrectly & upon arrival my pet was not able to be serviced. I was willing to change services to accommodate the groomers to work my baby in but they weren't willing to. I decided to not reschedule and follow up with store manager and corporate regarding my concerns and customer service dissatisfaction. read more

The groomers are horrific. My dog was there for 4 1/2 hours for a wash/cut etc. After 3 1/2 hours I went back because I never heard from them. I wasn't formed he was still wet and they had not even begun to cut his hair. They didn't have the common courtesy of a phone call to say it was taking longer or there are complications. They did nothing but make excuses and be extremely rude. To top it off they never did complete the services I had paid for. read more

I brought my Yorkie poo to be groomed to the Waldorf, MD location. I dropped him off and told the woman I did not want him shaved. This was my first time using PetSmart grooming services so I was VERY CLEAR on what I wanted. She said she would have to shave in a couple of places, however when I picked him up he was completely shaved. This does not even look like my dog anymore. Now it will take months to grow back, and I don't even know if it will grow back normal. Also, he is normally itchy after a groom but this is ridiculous, he has been itching the entire time since he's been home. I will never bring my dog here again or shop here, and will advise others against Petsmart as well. Obviously the groomer decided to put profit over my dog's needs and the customer's direction. read more

Tonight I fed my Ball Python his first rat! This may sound gross or not like a big deal, but for snake owners and particularly for this snake owner it was a really big deal! I've been feeding my snake mice forever, but because of the expertise, confidence, knowledge, and overall customer service of the small rodent salesperson, though nervous, I finally felt confident enough to feed my snake a rat. She explained what size rat to feed him, how often to feed him, what this diet change would mean for him, how his feeding behavior might change, how quickly his size could change, how to transition to the next size rat, and that I could return the rat if he didn't eat him and on and on. Her information was so helpful! She listened to my concerns, and made suggestions. The information was concise and on point. The moment I walked back to small rodents, she asked how she could help me. She didn't over talk me, walked me to the register and checked me out. I have been to this store many times and my little guy, MOCHA has adapted well to being groomed. He was a rescue so he was very timid but the groomers are always very nice and very caring. MOCHA loves coming to this store. read more

I adopted a cat from them. Several of the cats had scars on their bodies. When i asked the store manager about them he said it was probably from playing or rubbing on the cages. I felt bad, but adopted one without any scars. A few weeks later i noticed some scabs on his skin. I took him to the vet and they instantly said it looked like ringworm. when i mentioned petsmart they said they had another cat from there recently with the same problem. a week later it showed up on my other cat. I had to fight this for almost 6 weeks and it cost me over $600. I understand petsmart cant provide a guarantee that their cats are 100% healthy. but they should be monitoring the health of the animals in their shelter. and according to everyone i've talked to, they should know the visual signs of ringworm. read more

I have been a customer of PetSmart Waldorf for over 9 years. I usually have a decent experience with the store. My last pet (Newfoundland) experience with the groomer was very good. My new pet (Schnoodle) recently had a trip for a puppy bath and nail trim. The bath and trim was extremely poor. His nails were the same (I doubt they even tried to trim them), he appeared bath, but smelled the same as when I bought him in...no bandana and the groomer act as if I was the problem. Oh well, needless to say, I will not be using PetSmart for grooming any longer. read more

We have been taking our puppies here for years, one in particular since he was a puppy (15 years). Today we were told that we can no longer bring him because he is getting too old.....not because of his behavior (which they have had no problems with him in the past) not for causing harm to a groomer (which he never has)...but simply because he was moving around constantly TODAY and they had to work a little harder, and for that he can't come back. What in the hell kind of business does that. We've been going here for 15 years, and now because he was wiggling around and making it harder from them today, he can't come back??? I wish I can give no stars because that is the most ridiculous reason for not letting a dog come back to be groomed. SO BECAUSE HE IS OLDER, HE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE GROOMED? This is ridiculous, if you are a groomer and can't handle a little wiggling dog that weighs less than 20lbs pounds then your in the wrong profession! read more

I took my dog here to the groomers and this is the 3rd time. I noticed about a week later scabs on my dog's legs and back at first I thought they were ticks until the scab came off when I pulled at it. They usually do a good job, what bothers me is I am sure they know when they nick a dog and it causes bleeding it would have been nice if they told me so. I know my dog has a lot of energy and likes to move around so I wouldn't be surprised about nicks occurring. I have tried Petco across the street but after they bumped my appt the same day I decided to give Petsmart a try again. I guess I will have to try some place else. read more

Usually a good experience. The only negative is when I pick up my poodle (standard) she looks great....but when they cut her, they hit her skin and she bleeds. I will find dried blood on her a few days later. I know this seems trivial....but it does bother me....I will be checking each and every time in the future. That being said, the grooming department does a great job and at times they have many doggies in their care. I really like all of the groomers and truly appreciate what they do. read more

I took my dog to be groomed here and I left very happy. She smelled great and they even put two cute bows on her ears. But later on that night I noticed she was licking her paws a lot. The next day her paw was bleeding and she had a large lump on her paw. We called the store and told them we think the groomer had nicked her while she was being groomed. The manager told us to bring her in to see the stores vet, where we found out that her paw had gotten an infection. It was free for us to see the vet since the grooming caused the injury, but I was very upset that the groomer didn't tell me that my dog was hurt. The manager was very nice and accommodating but I will definitely not be coming back. read more

I was skeptical to get my dog groomed here after reading some questionable reviews. My dog is a beagle/poodle mix with some crazy hair and is a little apprehensive when it comes to other people. The groomer, Carolin, did a great job with her. This is the first time my dog was ever groomed and she came out looking and smelling great and she even seemed comfortable being there. After reading some other reviews I was scared about having her groomed but I'm thrilled I went to this PetSmart and would go back. read more

They groomed my dog for 9 HOURS!!!!! I've never had that experience with petsmart before. I arrived at the store because I hadn't heard from the groomer (Shannon) and seen my dog was still being groomed. The staff was VERY rude and showed poor customer service. The manager was called and began to be very disrespectful and proceeded to talk down at me. He then stormed out of the grooming salon and didn't from him. After all that foolishness, I still had to wait an additional 45 minutes before I could take my pooch home. THEY'RE THE WORST!!! read more

I frequently use Petsmart for my cat's grooming needs. I have been going to the Festival Way store in Waldorf, MD for at least 5 years now. I use Carolyn to groom my cat. She is wonderful! She does a great job. My cat gets the Touch Up package, which is a saniclip, brush out and nails clipped. I love this grooming salon. read more

the store itself is very nice. i have got many items from here for cheaper than i would at petco. the service can be slow at times, and i wish they had more staff on hand, but the staff they DO have are very knowledgeable and willing to help. i have never had any experience with the grooming, but i have had some with Banfield. the wait is very long, and the prices are ridiculous. however, i feel a good portion of the bad reviews on this store are for Banfield, in which case, the reviews should have been written under Banfield and NOT petsmart. read more

I've also had some bad experiences having my Maltese groomed here, but it really depends on who does the grooming. On occasion I've asked for ears to be cleaned, nails to be done, glands to be expressed, and the groomer failed to perform those tasks. At times they attempted to charge me for the service, other times not. Once, a groomer cut my dog's paw and never mentioned it. I called to complain as soon as we got him home and got no satisfaction. I find that Chrissy does an excellent job. She's conscientious and knows her business, and as long as she works there I'll continue to take Suddi to her. If/when she leaves I'll be looking for another salon because I have tried several of the other technicians and have been very disappointed with their ability to follow instructions. If you get a good job done, make sure you note the name of the groomer and insist on only that person next time. read more
